hi
i have bean having major trouble rooting my acer tf HTJ85B.US_epad-8.6.5.9-20110816 i have tried the live cd and many other ways. how can i root it? Thanks all
Is it possible that you have a b70 or a b80? Sometime in the production of the b70s they changed to a different boot loader, and atm you are not able to root. For example, my first b70 was able to root just fine, but the replacement b70 I got wont root.
check the serial...if it starts with B70 then there is a chance its not rootable yet. If it starts with B80 then its not rootable yet

i just got mine like a week ago and found out that its the latest revision mainly B80 hahaha..... soo if its brand new and it just reached the shop.....
Throw it in the microwave for 10 seconds at a time. At some point something will stop working.
When it does, RMA it back to Asus and they'll just exchange it for another.
Pray you get a different model.
....but yeah, I'm with a B70 and have no way to root. Really hoping this changes soon. I'm thinking about contacting Asus about it. They have no reason to lock this tablet down.
I recently purchased the asus transformer pad tf300t and was trying out different custome firmwares from aokp to cm9. After installing cm9 i didnt really like it so i reverted back to a previous back up using twrp. It booted fine however now i cannot enable wifi. I have tried wiping the tablet clean doing a full factory reset and reinstalling aokp from fresh but it still does not allow me to enable the wifi setting it is just greyed out, can someone please help as the only posts i've seen are for the prime and tf101 and 202's.
Thanks

cwm backups wont restore your kernel. You need to flash the official asus firmware and return to stock. this will wipe all of your data and can only be done with cwm recovery.
Hello I extracted trebuchet.apk the latest version of 10.1 cm nightly, greater fluidity, lower battery consumption, I go forward with testing

It's the default CM10.1 launcher (fork of the AOSP base launcher). Not super sure why this thread is up though-- so far as I know, Trebuchet's worked on the TF300T for quite some time now.
you're right but runs well on TF300T stock launcher better basis

Hi, yesterday i was bored so i try to downgrade to ics from jb.
1) Why do you need to downgrade to ics?
- I love to play games with my tf300t. With android 4.1 and 4.2 all my games was too slow and buggy and i wasn't able to install chainfire 3d. Also on my tf300t ics without any weak or mod is faster than all jb rom.
2) I haven't try to return on jb so i don't know if it is possible so please don't try if you want to stay on jb.
3) what are the steps? (for advanced user)
-I recommend a full wipe from jb twrp recovery before flash ics.
- first download the 9.4.5.30 firmware from tf700 forum.
-enter fastboot mode from tablet.
-flash the firmware trought fastboot.
-reboot and enjoy ics on tf300t with 1.5 ghz kernel. ( i can't pass 1.2 ghz )
-optional you can download last twrp recovery for tf700 and flash but you have to change theme because the resolution is wrong.
-for root use motochopper
4) with this metod you can't use nvflash and you can't flash any ics rom like hydro 4.4.
I hope someone can take advantage from my guide and sorry for my bad english.
I don't think you can go back to jb either so make sure this is what you want before doing it.

Before update my wifi which is 10ft away showed perfect, now barely registers. Loading webpages seems sluggish as well. Shutdown/restart no help.
hello you should make a backup of applications and do a factory reset you will see everything will be fine

Updated and lost root, so I'f you have locked bootloader as me, be careful what you are doing, and if you need to be rooted then don't update... otherwise, I haven't seen any changes, doesn't feel even faster, it's just the same I would say, possibly (and hopefully) they just fixed a lot of bugs in this update
EDIT: motochopper and framaroot does not work either

I can say that it certainly is a lot smoother, especially for a stock rom. It also fixed some wake issues that I was having.

I did. I use twrp 2.5.0.0 because the newer ones seem to have mounting issues. Installed supersu.

Voodoo OTA rootkeeper was able to restore root for me (I'm on locked bootloader as well). However, since you need to install Voodoo While still having root that won't help you very much, but it might be worth knowing for other people
It feels a lot snappier to me though - although statements like this are always subjective and rather unreliable, as they're hardly based on verifiable facts.

Really interesting... I don't understand this ... what  why its possible to restore root for some and not for others... This is just confusing
Soo is it just me or did this update install some trial version of a wifi app that has completely messed up the wifi?
This is bs.
