I recently purchased the asus transformer pad tf300t and was trying out different custome firmwares from aokp to cm9. After installing cm9 i didnt really like it so i reverted back to a previous back up using twrp. It booted fine however now i cannot enable wifi. I have tried wiping the tablet clean doing a full factory reset and reinstalling aokp from fresh but it still does not allow me to enable the wifi setting it is just greyed out, can someone please help as the only posts i've seen are for the prime and tf101 and 202's.
Thanks

cwm backups wont restore your kernel. You need to flash the official asus firmware and return to stock. this will wipe all of your data and can only be done with cwm recovery.

It's been updated to V4. It seems pretty solid but that's less than 24 hours of usage. I think I've got OC to 1.5 or 1.6, no problems. As noted at his site, Auto Brightness does not work. I'm interested in GPS so not sure if that is supported or not. So far, so good with the ROM. I may give Taboonay another go, but feel comfortable with Thor's ROM. Also, Netflix does not work. I don't think it found it on the Market but I tried restoring from a backup and got an FC. I believe this is a known prob with HC 3.2.
i tried it, one hour later I was back on Taboonay v.2.1b.
also, when leaving it, wipe everything atleast 5 times, or your wallpaper wont work no matter what

Interesting. I tried Taboonay and didn't like it. I had some issues with OC with Thor's and am now giving PRIMEE P9-5a a go. It's better but thinking I may not stick with it. Perhaps I'll give Taboonay another go.
I did not like it at first either. Once I oc it was better. Make sure you use the 2.1b version.

I tried this too, but to my dismay when i reverted to my back up of Taboonay 2.1b, I lost root priviledges!!!!!!!! Unable to access the cwm, or anything that involves root. I have been searching for hours now for my fix. To no avail.
Wipe all partitions and dalvik before restore. It works.

are you able to get into cwm recovery by pushing power and volume down buttons during bootup?
if yes - just put some 3.1 rom on your sd card and flash with it.
honeyvilain 1.05a was for me great choice.

No, i tried vol up and pow and vol down and pow. No luck either way....

Thanks, I did try it (twice) with the 2.1b. I've tried pretty much all of the HC 3.2 releases minus the minimal custom ROMs but seem to like Falcon Acer HC 3.2. I noticed some oddities when I maxed out OC so running at 1.5 seems to make for a solid ROM. I didn't have a chance to fully test GPS. I'm using richard's kernal but may try thor's.

I would:
1) Root your device with the tools already out there (I used ioniaroot)
2) Download Acer Recovery from Market and install CWM through that. Unless it has been updated, it will not give you the latest CWM, which you can download, install on your SD card, and flash from CWM
Keep us posted
So, I simply flashed another Rom. After of course figuring out that my recovery was still there.
All is well again!

Yeah, had the same issue when flashing my recovery image back to taboonay. Had to actually reflash the original taboonay rom and thor kernal. The recovery loses root for some reason.
Unfortunately, Revolver lacks 501 support, even after messing with the build.prop and an additional lib file. And Thor doesn't have a 501 to play with.
Looked promising though, a little more responsive than taboonay.

Rainbowbright, glad you back in action with your tablet. It seems thor has released an update to this ROM so very tempted to give it a whack this weekend, though I am really enjoying Falcon's Acer HC 3.2 ROM.

Interesting you say that about Taboonay. I was trying to figure out why I didn't stick with it given its popularity and remembered that was my experience as well. I have a USB 3G pay-as-you-go modem and have read those devices are supported, so I opted for the 500.

Try reflashing your old rom after restoring your backup. CWM doesn't backup the kernel, so you need to flash your old kernel back.
This is the most backward logic I have ever heard in my entire life. I guess if you have to go back (Don't know why you would) get the HC firmware from ASUS's site and flash it.

Peoples going back from ICS to HC all have run into troubles restoring the kernel.
Exactly. For whatever reason, going from ICS -> HC won't work right unless you reflash your old kernel.
If ICS seems slow you should do a Factory Reset first before anything more extreme like trying to go backwards to a previous version.
The same things were happening when the Xoom was upgraded to ICS......a few had issues with it feeling slower while the majority were raving about the increased performance. A Factory Reset corrected the slowness and/or FC's on most of those.
I personally always Factory Reset when changing/upgrading ROM versions (Eclair to Froyo, Froyo to Gingerbread...and now Honeycomb to Ice Cream Sandwich). Seems to keep the issues to a minimum.....
(just purchased a Transformer for my wife....)
I did a full wipe. Installed ICS OTA then did two more wipes, then set up.
Mine flies and I am slowly adding back apps I actually need. Everything is great here.

Agreed, I've had no issues so far with my ICS. It's always going to be a little chunky and slow for the first hour or so probably while it builds databases, caches, and whatever else it does in the background. Give it some time to do its busywork. If it's still slow after that, try wiping and doing it again? :/
Running a Jelly Bean ROM 4.1.1 from user Hashcode on my Fire and really enjoying it. Many Thanks to Hashcode for his work. However, have noticed that the JB keyboard doesn't always register when I hit the keys. I have actually loaded a different keyboard because it was happening so much. Anyone else seeing the same issue???
Yeah, that kept happening to me too, but I wasn't sure if it was me imagining things or if the keyboard really was skipping some touches...
Well, I have to use SwiftKey anyway, for the language support.
Yep, happened a lot to me. Eventually loaded the Go Keyboard. Before that, I turned off the tap noise bc at least then I didn't have the indication the touch had been registered.
I don't understand why Google won't include a decent keyboard that at least has long tap for secondary keys...

My keyboard is working perfectly, actually better than stock. Did you guys do a full Factory Reset before flashing or did you flash over another rom? I had a lot of little issues when I first flashed after only doing system and cache wipes. Went back and did the reset and most of the problems were solved. Just wondering if that might be part of the problem.

u know what, I tried both, installed JB 4.1.2 on existing ROm and then wipe dalvik cache battery factory reset, formatting system data cache...everything...now I have seen something positive with some negetives as well,
Negetives: when I ported JBMP release 3 the touch screen was completely off, however keyboard was working(I mean all keys)
in MiniCM-4.1.0 except the numlock (the bottom left key required to put numbers) wasn't working
Positives: with release 2...everything was working fine...
2.before rooting flashing and installing this ROM the keyboard is to work fine but there was no kight what so ever, but after flashing different kernels the light came back, I mean with ICS 4.0.4 and JB 4.1.2 the light is there (it got rectified donno how)
but can this be rectified? Anyone any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Hi everyone,
I've been having some peculiar issues since I flashed the altered unter kernel for Paranoid. Initially, I was having the wifi occasionally turn off, and could only get it back on by restarting the device. As this was getting annoying, I tried flashing other kernels, but still had the problem. Finally, I went full stock (flashing blob, reflash recovery etc), but still am having this problem. Now I'm back on PA with a different Unter kernel that was supposedly tweaked to fix this problem. What could it be? I'm a wipeaholic, so i don't think it's that. anyone have a known stable kernel for PA I could test with? Thanks everyone

My son in law just gave me his K1. He got a new Google Nexus. I have successfully rooted my Verizon SGS3 by reading the threads here on XDA and I am happy with that. Now here's my problem. The K1 is a WiFi version running stock 3.2.1. I want to root and load a custom ROM. My main use for this K1 will be streaming video from Wifi to HDTV using HDMI , streaming audio from Wifi to Bluetooth speakers, and using Google video chat over Wifi. After reading through Khanning, Krook1, and Kaschemme threads I am not quite sure where I should start. I would like to use the latest from Kaschemme but I sure not sure if it would be best for uses. Thanks much in advance for any input/guidance.

I've decided to go ahead and nvflash cm10.1 wifi kaschemme, then flash his latest 10.1.3 release, and finish by flashing gapps jb 20130424 nonneon. Does this sound right?? I hope so. I wish I could get this post moved to Kaschemme's thread. I am a noob and could not start it there. Thanks again to XDADevs for being here. It is a great resource.

Change of plan!! I am noob so after more reading and digesting I see that the CM ROM's may have problems with both Bluetooth and WiFi. Therefore I am going to start with the latest khanning K1_JB_AOSP nflash and work my way from there. Wish me luck. I hope to pull the trigger today or tomorrow.

CM 10, both Krooks and Kashemme had working Bluetooth and HDMI. That ended with CM 10.1. I WOULD RECCOMMEND kACSHEEMES cm10 you can use his NV flash to run the root and install the recovery. Don't use the non neon gapps with CM 10, you can use the Rootzwiki GAPPS. The other reason to use the Kaschemme is that he is still kind of around.

I have already flashed Khanning's latest JB AOSP. Can I now simply put Kacshemme's CWM cm10 zip on my extcd and flash it over Khanning's.Should I back up app my apps with TB and restore or can I just flash w/o a wipe. I have also made an android back up of what I got to my extcd. Thanks again for the help.
Sorry I reread both Krook and Kaschemme and I see I do have to go the nFlash route again. No problem. I am curious though. If I use TB to back up all my apps to my extcd can I just then restore them once I get TB reinstalled?
Got it to quote you - "That is not common, i have been running it since September on 4 different k1 tablets an there are no issues. Are you doing a clean flash? Are you using the Neon GAPPS in the OP? I also reflash gapps every time i do an update."
K1 nFlashed K1-WIFI_CM10_JB_07052013
Jerry/anyone,
I nflashed Kaschemme's CM10 in title to replace khanning K1_JB_AOSP and flashed signed gapps-jb-20122111. I really like the ROM but I have a major problem and some general questions. I now have CWM v6.0.2.8 w/ android 4.1.2 and kernel version 2.6.39.4. My major problem is that I have no audio feed with the HDMI. The video is good no audio!!! It worked with JB_AOSP! This is no good I use the K1 to stream NetFlex to HDTV. The audio comes across the K1 speakers, ear buds but no HDMI. Any thoughts help???? Do I need to go back?? Also I thought this ROM provided the option to overclock to 1.4. I can't find this option. Max I can pick is 1.0?? Any and all help is needed and appreciated. Thanks to all and Merry Christmas.
Flashed Kaschemme CM 10.1.3 w/ CWM
OK I decided I can live w/o BT so.........................I used CWM to wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache , flashed CM10.1.3 zip booted up and let things settle down. I rebooted into recovery and flashed the nonneon gapps. Rebooted and logged into my google account. Downloaded TiBU and batch reinstalled missing apps. All went very well and I am happy. I only needed to download a couple apps from the play store. I OC set at min 456 max 1400 and using interactive governor. I have good WiFi, good HDMI, good head phone and video streaming to HDTV. I see my CWM was also updated. So far this is a great performing ROM. Thanks to all and especially Kaschemme for his hard work. Merry Christmas to all. BTW I got 10,501 AnTuTu. Good enough for this ole retired guy

I came from stock. Just follow the directions on kaschemm's thread. You can get the download from here http://goo.im/devs/kaschemme. You need to download the nvFlash to your pc and run it from there to get root and cwm recovery. If I if remember right the nonneon gapps link is in the thread and you flash that from recovery. Hope this helps. Good luck.
