Ok so after being insulted by some guy about a safemode for xperia play i found this article
http://www.tested.com/news/feature/...ds-safe-mode-to-save-a-phone-from-boot-loops/
since when does android have a safemode? i never knew this and it seems to be for all or nearly all devices not just sony or verizon.
most devices say press and hold menu and power until it's booted. this is what it is for xperia 2011 devices aswell.
It works! Incredible, I wouldn't even think about that!
Safe mode prevents any third-party apps from running. So if you have installed an app that mighg cause some serious problems with your device, boot it in safe mode to uninstall it. So smart!

Yeah, I only just found that out a few weeks ago too. It's pretty much just like Windows' safe mode
Takes me back to my LG Ally days. I used to boot in safe mode all the time due to flashing not-entirely-good zips.
Wait, so all I hold down is the menu button? I tried that. Didn't work.
Yes just press and hold menu and power when the device is off, hold them in until the phone is fully booted.
May not work on custom roms, not sure, but it works on SE based roms.

You're a fool.
Epic magical uber leet jesus battery thread ftw!
Pics or it didnt happen.
I only see it possible if you did a restore and haven't charged.
Example: Performed a restore using a recovery from two days. Before restoring the battery was fully charged. This will cause the amount from last charge to be out of wack and show the amount of hours since your recovery rom was charged.

Oh that? That's a ROM I flashed on your phone. It's called JokesOnYou V1.3
Changelog:
1.0 = Your phone is dead with that image displayed forever
1.1 = Updated the framework, your phone is still dead, but now it's Gingerbread
1.2 = (removed) sent continuous screenshots to Cyanogen, making him **** his pants. I got sick of donating enough for new pants.
1.3 = deducts a penny from the debit card you use in the android market daily to contribute to steve jobs' coffin. It's pretty nifty, called the iDead and continually updates it's users letting us know that he is, in fact, still dead...your phone (sadly) is still dead and will continue to display your insane battery life.

My cliq lasted 13+- days in airplane mode and wifi on but not associated.

Foolishness.
56 hours isn't that crazy if you think about it, it's almost 2 1/2 days, if you put your in edge, and low brightness and don't text or call anyone or use at all, for that matter, I think you can achieve that. There's people who go for 2 days without charging. I don't see why it can't happen. It's not a blackberry but ****tt, it's close enough.

I am wondering if this would work for the people who are stuck at GB. I would try it but my evo is my only phone and I dont want to be stuck at s-on with GB.

I see where the thread is going here, but i have a valid question. I noticed that some people were going to try and use 1 sd card with the valid ruu file to validate. Dont let it update, it will ask if you want to. At that point you then pull the card and put in the second one with the rollback to the previous bootloader and froyo that has the same file name. Maybe it will write since it validated the file with the other card.
The challenge here is that even if you have it plugged in to power when you pull the battery it will shut off. What if we connected the power leads to a power box like they do with other phones to flash the systems. I dont know if it would realize that we changed the sd card or not.
Any thoughts?

Very nice but as I said this is on arc launcher ,active usualy has 4 corner screen the dock is modified for active
This has pretty much made my phone unusable. Crashes 10+ times a day and I have to take the battery out to restart.
Also drains the battery at the rate of 15% an hour.
The SD card has also stopped working. Getting the message "Preparing the SD card....Checking for Errors" In the notification bar.
Im using this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1036335
Hope it disappears today.
Can I get rid of it by installing a different launcher?
Well the icons disappeared and the phone was somewhat OK for half a day.
Now it wont even start up. Getting the message "Sorry. Process system is not responding." Neither the wait or force close button works.
I press the off button and then they become active. I try to boot into x recovery but no good.
Any suggestions?

Hey!
I thought of a concept that will be hard to achieve, but awesome if it works.
This is it: The OS acts as if there are two screens that you can control independently. This way you can do things like editing a file while looking thing up on the internet. I realize this probably would not work, and in terms of technology I'm kind of a noob, but this is just an idea that would be cool and not actually anything I am working on.

I know of the Sony Tablet P, but I meant that it would be something that any Android phone with enough power could use. But thanks anyway!
If you split the screen in two, don't you think the screens would be way too small anyway? I mean it is a good idea, but who really does anything majorly needing that on their phone?
Maybe if you got the Kyocera Echo's source you could trick the display into doing it
http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/13/kyocera-echo-review/
But it wouldn't be practical on a phone, maybe on a tablet
OP, I think its a great idea!
You would have two 6.25 cm (2.5") 427x480 (or 480 minus a few pixel rows for the status bar) app windows.
It probably could be implemented, but I doubt it will

This is just for multitasking though. The DS was a good idea, but the real innovation was the touch screen - not the two screens.
This might or might not be useful. I thought of it because to me it seems useful when looking things up or something. And yes, the screens might be small. But I do not think they will be too small.
There's.a Nokia dual screen check it on youtube I def was not impressed
Sent from my R800a using XDA App
I would find this useful because you can have your music player on the left/bottom of the screen, and have any other app on the other half of the screen. That way you wont have to change constantly between apps so in other words it is great for multitasking.
Imigine that you can swipe the bar between the two apps to make one bigger or smaller... that would be nice...
EDIT: Heard about Cornerstone? It does something very similar:

So only problem that I have when I think about buying s5 is that samsung changed that menu key to that multitasking key, what was the problem having multitasking in home key?
So is it possible to change it to work like it used to be so I had menu, home/multitasking and back keys in front like previous galaxy phones had.

Yes, press multitasking shortly = menu, long = recent. I'm completle remove all fingerprint scanner services and apk, don't use it

Xposed is necessary. Most all functions of gravity box works with any 4.4.2 roms

By default, long-pressing the "recents" key activated the menu.
