Hey guys, need some help. I'm using the Apex Launcher on my Nexus 7 and it seems like I can't get my notifications to work. I use Juice Defender which disables my internet on standby mode but even after I open my Nexus some apps don't refresh automatically and I don't get the notifications (i.e. Facebook, Gmail), which is slightly annoying and I can't seem to find a fix.
Anyone there nice enough to lend me a hand? It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Did it ever work before and it just stopped working or did it never work? Is sync enabled?

It seemed to stop working after I got Apex Launcher, also my Gmail Calendar doesn't update also when I click refresh, really weird. Where's the Enable Sync button? :\
Settings, Accounts, and then each account has its own sync settings that you can change.

I just noticed a few days ago that GMail isn't syncing with my phone anymore. I send myself an email just to check and it never showed any notification untill I manually entered the application and updated. Of course, I'd ran this test before and it worked flawlessly. I really need this to work because I use my email a lot for work purposes.
I'm currently on CM-5.0.3.1, ERE36B. I don't really know what may have happened. Configuration to receive notifications apparently is ok. As far as I know the only thing that may have changed is the number of apps. Can there be some kind of interference between some app and GMail sync? Come on it's the Google Phone, if GMail can't work we've got a problem...
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
Go into: Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, Filter - ALL, find GMAIL and GMAIL Storage, clear data for both.
Solved! Thanks!
Hi !
Used to get these issues too on my HTC Magic (G2). Nothing wrong with my N1, but this morning, no sync (last sync seven hours ago...).
Turned everything down then restarted and it worked again.
Do you often get that? Is it a google-related issue ?
Hi,
Recently, my GMAIL stopped auto-receiving mail and will not update until I manually sync it.
It was working fine until yesterday evening.
Any idea how to fix this?

Did you change any settings? I know it doesn't sync as fast anymore when one has the "undo" function enabled, found under gmail settings. GL
I was having the same issue and addidng to that was that I was not receiving all the email. It showed that there were new emails but those were not always appering. Fixed it by wiping data with Titanium.

To my knowledge, I didn't change any settings. Looking at the feedback in the market, I noticed that some of the other more recent comments show the same issue.
I think it was Gmail, not your phone. I had the same problem today. Then I got a bunch of emails all at once.
I'm having the same issue today as well. Probably a server issue.
+1 here, very annoying!
looks like this is a google server issue and they are looking into it:

It appears that Google has fixed this as of 6pm eastern
My wife's Pro has lost auto-sync with Gmail. It used to do it, and has stopped. The sync setting screen for the Pro is much different than my evo- not sure if I am not finding the right screen or if it doesn't exist.
This happened "around" the time I rooted it with z4r, but not sure if it was caused by the root.
Anyone have this problem or know where I can find sync "settings"?
I have the same problem, its quite annoying having to manually sync both accounts juts to check mail. Im about to give up on the gmail app and just go through the regular email app.
Edit; im giving k-9 mail client a shot. I added my 2 gmail accounts and froze the regular gmail app for the time being.
I do not know which apps require the gmail app but im sure I will find out soon enough.
At least now I have a client that syncs my mail.
I know I can use the regular mail app for gmail but I wanted to try out k-9. Perfect excuse to do so
What's so damn annoying is that it used to do it perfect and now won't...
Put the Power Control widget on ur homescreen. Is the 2nd icon from the right enabled or disabled?

Hi guys,
Apologies in advance for my question/problem which is probably retarded simple to fix, but so far I haven't been able to, and it's driving me nuts.
My Nexus 7 is fine, it's the Gmail app that is driving me crazy. The Gmail sync turns OFF for no reason in the Gmail app settings, thus I don't get any notifications. I have to turn it back ON manually, like 6 times a day, and it's driving me nuts. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it simply doesn't.
The app works fine with my Galaxy S i9000 running 2.3. Neither of my devices are rooted.
If anyone has any ideas or can help I'd greatly appreciate it.

To be honest, I think this happens with android devices in general, one minute ill be getting my push notifications, the next they just wont come through, then randomly they'll start coming through again.
Well that's pretty... lame. I have everything sync'd up perfectly so I was wondering what it could be. A bit disappointing tbh.

Try verifying / setting Gmail Sync under Settings > Accounts > Google > your gmail account.
Thanks for the tip, I just checked there and everything seems to be just fine. Then went into my Gmail app to see that sync was off just 10 seconds later, lol.
Starting last night Gmail does not push any email to my phone. Any ideas what happened? Could I have stopped a process that it needs(not Gmail app)?
Did you check your settings? Not trying to be am a$$. Only reason I ask is cause Ive run the root process twice on my Note 3 so far. First time everything was fine. Second time I had to sign in tp google twice, and sync for gmail and other sync options weren't checked

I had this issue. I turned on WiFi and it started to push my emails. I turned it off and it seemed to work fine.
I tried it but it did not seem to work although I was not connected only had WiFi on.
I had this happen too. I had to go into gmail settings, and then click on my email addy. On this page go to the "manage labels" button and make sure your boxes are set to sync and notify. I use like 5 different inboxes so I had to enable sync for each one. It took me forever to find this and I was going insane trying everything to enable sync. I still have no idea what causes this activity.
I've had this happen on galaxy devices. I usually go to Gmail and clear and restore defaults then that usually fixes it. If not then go to accounts and sync and disable sync then re-enable it. One of those should work

I saw that the notify flag was off so I turned it on. I will see if that fixs the problem.
