I was playing minecraft last night and it froze. So I went to restart my computer hoping minecraft would close then I canceled the restart. Then everything was frozen so I just pulled out the battery. Then when I turned it on while loading a blue screen came up that said your PC ran into a problem. Then it loads again and it says windows is preparing automatic repair. The the screen goes dim, but nothing is on the screen and the mouse is on the screen. When I close the lid the screen turns off. When I pull the battery or turn it off the same thing happens. I am running windows 8 consumer preview on the HP g60. I can provide more information if needed. Someone please help.

I had sixaxis app running and apparently when its running in the backround the screen wont turn off. I plugged my phone into the charger last night and when the phone was done charging the notification for done charging popped up and turned the screen on. because I had sixaxis open it didnt let the screen turn off and my screen was on all night. My question is have I damaged my screen by doing this? I fear of the infamous burn in now.
Install LCD test from Google Play and look for any signs of screen burn in while you run it.

Virtually no chance. My old sgs 2 screen stayed on most nights when plugged in overnight (clock app). No screen burn after 1.5yrs of that.
Sometimes people mistake screenburn of the notification area when they load up an led test because you get a bit of a memory effect on ltd segments that have been on for a long time. If you leave the screen test on for an hour they normally disappear.
The chances of getting screenburn during a normal lifetime of a smartphone are negligible, especially on the type that the sis3 uses.

My question is do you have the phone and can you look at it to see if the screen has burn in or not?
"Display Tester" also has a screen burn in function as well as test, if you do find you have a problem, though i would have though running a white screen would remove it as well.

Its not broken. Common problem, your auto brightness is stuck. Hook it up to the charger, turn it on and give it about 5 minutes to boot up. Shine a bright light on the screen and you should see a faint start up screen. Go to settings an adjust or turn off auto brightness.
Good luck.:good:

Hi,
I just got Shield TV. Everything works fine so far. Then suddenly it happened today. When I put Shield to sleep green light stays on. I don't have any USB accessories attached to the Shield.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

I had this before too. My shield is rooted, don't know what exactly helped, but it's gone for a while - I'm doing time to time restart and also sometimes cleaning some unnecessary junks like dalvik, cash etc with root cleaner app (and there need root privileges)

Mine is stuck on right now as well.
For me after few resets it works fine. I'm not sure if it will not come back.
Try turning it off fully by keeping your finger on the Nvidia 'button' for around 8-10 seconds. Ignore the pairing screen and eventually you will see an Android message about the system shutting down. Power it back on and, once booted, see if it's still giving the same issue. This forces a graceful shutdown rather than when you pull the power cable, assuming that's what you have tried.

Hey all,
did anybody solve this issue?
I am running full android on the Shield TV and after some time the screen gets black but the green light always stays on.
Even when I power off the device with my harmony smart control hub (puts the SATV to sleep mode) the green light stays on..
I already restarted several times and also forced shutdowns - didn't change a thing.
Has anybody an idea how to solve?
Thanks!

I had to pull the DC power to mine for a few seconds then plug it back in. It's been fine for the last two weeks now. *knocks on wood*

Thanks for your answer
I already tried that and even tried another TV... didn't change anything
Does the green light also goes off when the device goes into sleep mode automatically (after 2 minutes e.g.)?
My biggest concern is that the device isn't going in a correct sleep mode so that it drains a lot of battery...
Tonight, my turbo 2 started acting up. I pulled it out to make a call, and the top 1/2 inch of my screen was flickering purple. That went away after about an hour, but then the whole screen went black and unresponsive. After trying to shut it off and reboot for a bit, it just randomly started working again. Full battery. Everything works, except the top 1/2 inch of display is completely black, every now and then, it will be green. If the phone sleeps, even for a second, it won't come back on, for about an hour, then it will randomly start working again. Never got wet, or dropped. Any body had an issue like this?
There's a known issue with a green line on the screen, I believe the speculation is a bad batch of screens got out, you're gonna have to exchange it for a new phone.
I am currently having this same issue. Going to VZ today to see about resolving it, as really hard to do anything when its doing that. Top 1/2 or more of the screen is flickering purple, then the screen will not let you turn up the brightness, all programing in the back works, just a LED issue. Restarted and same thing, let it charge Off all night, and back to normal after a few minutes using it. Very odd, not sure what is going on.
I have a similar issue, and I am trying to recover some data from mine. It seems booting into bootloader mode and using ADB yields nothing
I also cannot use MTP, as when I plug my phone in it's not in MTP mode for some reason, and i Can't see how to turn it on (screen is black). Digitizer still works. Does anyone have any suggestions? Can someone here maybe take a video of themselves plugging the phone in via USB and then selecting MTP on the phone? perhaps I can do it blindly...
Really don't want to give this phone back to vz until I get my data off of it.
About eight hours of pissing and moaning and I finally figured out:
Using the replacement phone, I just mimicked every movement on the one with the dead screen. I hit the "cast" button on the notifications panel and casted the screen to my chromecast, which in turn allowed me to set up MTP mode and/or anything else I wanted.
Cheers, hope this helps someone
So about an hour after I got my phone I went to turn it off and charge it a bit to full.
Upon coming back to turn it on the screen is completely black but has reaction to touch.
Tried rebooting and all button combos still off.
About an hour later full charged my guess I noticed the screen still black but has a glitchy blink around the top part edges of the screen.
I've not installed any apps just took a few pics ran a benchmark.
Anyone else have this issue ? Luckily Verizon is replacing it immediately.
Sounds like nothing more than some faulty hardware...tough luck
