I replace my defy screen and it's still "broken" please help! - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I have this problem on my phone:
I purchased this on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/180844682216?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_2134wt_1265
But did not solve the problem even with the new screen I can see those "pixels"....what's the problem then? cannot be fixed? could you help me out please? thank you!

thats only the thouch glass ! Not the display
Sent from my MB526 using xda app-developers app

yuo need to replace the LCD, The Bezel holds the Glass, which the digitiser is attached to ( allows the touch screen to opperate) this is the top bit that you touch, underbneath this is a separate LCD ( liquid crystal display) if the LCD is broken you get a bleeding effect on the display, if the glass is broken you get a crack, or spiderweb crack on the scree, but underneath the display is OK.

Have you tried putting your defy in the Freezer?
If it looks like this

it might work
Simply take your Battery SDcard and Micro SD card out of your defy and put it in a plasticbag and close it very hard so that no air or water gets in there
After 12 hours take your defy out and wait until it reaches normal temperature, rice can be good if some water got in there
Then put everything back in and look if it worked

Had these twice. They were gone after 2 days without freezer! Could be that it doesn't disappear with others. Anybody knows what it actually is?
Yours is clearly damaged. You only replaced the protection glass and digitizer(touch screen) and still need the LCD. Please don't put it in the freezer for everything.

Someone told me that the liquid crystals in the displays might go out or something like this
I left my defy 2 days on the back but it didnt help! The freezer method did but remember to do it only without Battery Sim and MicroSD card
A photo of your problem wouldnt be bad!(if you have uploaded one i cant see it)

Per schematics I looked at a while ago, and pictures I've seen, I think that the digitizer and the glass are bonded together. He probably just replaced the glass and digitizer at the same time.

Things are supposed to appear on your phone's screen. If nothing appeared on your screen, that would be a problem.
yeah sorry but i would need a little better understanding of the question to help you out. what appeared on your screen? whats causing you problems?

Yeah, but what looks like WET SPOTS are NOT supposed to be there. Looks like some sort of screen damage. Do those spots go away when the screen changes?
are you talking about those hazy thingies?
Have you exposed your phone to a place with rapid ambient temperature/humidity change? this might be water under the glass?
or it could be a protector screen gone bad?
you need to be more specific otherwise because there seems nothing wrong beside that.

Looks like it might be the screen protector. At least he should hope that it's only the screen protector. If not, hope he has $$$ or $ and a steady hand.

or just try an hairdryer at low temp for a bit
now seriously, if that's just humidity under the glass, leave it off for two days with the battery cover open, best case scenario all of it will be gone without any sigh it was there.
if it is water try opening it up .. and putting it in a bag rice for a day or two ..

Have you tried putting your defy in a airtight moisture proof container and then stowing it in the freezer for a few hours? Worked for some people, but be careful, make sure moisture and air do not enter the container.

I had the exact same thing after dropping my phone TWICE. I put it in a ziplock bag, without the battery, sim card, nor sdcard, and then in the freezer. In total it took about 7 days for the blue spots to clear, but I took it out every 24 hours to check on its progress. I just took it out and let it dry off for about 10 minutes, then put the battery in and turned it ont to check how much was clearing.
If that doesn't work, replace the LCD.

I did put it in freezer, twice. both times the sizes reduced a bit, but not enough. I guess I need an industrial freezer, like the one they have in ice cream stores.

Display comes out of chassis!

Today I was noticing a really strange thing about my display.
When the S4 is lying flat on the table and you look at it from the side you can see that the display is curving out of the chassis. It is hard to explain but the display is not even with the chrome/plastic rim (the one just above the surrounding metal frame) as it should, it stands out (about 1mm). I can push it back into the chassis so that it is perfectly even again but after a fews seconds it stands out again. It seems like the display is glued into the chassis but the glue isn't gluing any longer and the display is slowly working its way out of the chassis.
Does anybody know what I mean?
Or has experienced anything similar?
I wasn't able to take a nice picture of what I mean, you just can't see it in my pictures. But I found a picture of a HTC One with the same problem. I hope you guys can get the idea.

Better don't fix it yourself, just bring it back from where you bought it and ask to fix it.
This is unacceptable for a flagship device and should be replaced/fixed under warranty.
What he said.
Send it back mate. Don`t be tempted to touch it, just ring your provider up and tell them. They are obliged to do it under warranty
Never mind.. my silly mistake.

Will return it under warranty.
The reason I was starting the thread was because I wanted to know if this is a known S4 issue. If other users are experiencing similar problems. Because when there is a chance that this will happen again and again then maybe I'll leave Samsung and go for another device...

No it's a know issue, just happened to be a manufacturing defect.
Try heating it up with a hairdryer and try to push it back into place. The heat will make the glue sticky again so hopefully it will work.

Thanks for your advice, but because I'm (as already mentioned) still under warranty I won't try anything risky as that

I guess this is a goodbye..

It was an amazing phone, went through hell and back, but the cold temperatures and humidity finished it off. I'm sad...
Probably going to get the new Zenphone 2 or Moto G 2 4G.
Was running stock 4.1.2, tried lollipop, kitkat, ICS, JB, GB, amazing phone, I loved it <3

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Don'tcha throw it away! I know, you're keen on a new one - so get it, but give the S2 one more try; if you guess, humiditiy was the last strike, bake it in the oven at around 50 degrees, or leave it a few days on/at the heating radiator - or, if you live anywhere no heater necessary, leave it under a black cloth in the sun. Sometimes it works....
naturally WITHOUT the battery
Some guy at a phone repair shop might not take so much bucks either for only disassembling and cleaning / drying the inner ....
good luck
brin,
still using my old one at cyano 4.4.4 and have a spare one from my lady who went iphone

Do not forget to donate it to someone who wants to develop for the s2 if you are thinking in throwing it in the trash. That's sad to see too...

Haha, I'll be giving it away to a friend, It's good enough for what he does, he just needed a phone that would be able to use Viber to talk to his girl. I bought myself an used S3 today, i9300, no 2GB of Ram sadly, but hey it works. I've had one before and I missed this phone <3
Thanks for your help, but to solve this issue it'll have it's screen replaced, it's cracked and the humidity gets to it easily.
