I cant find N64oid in the market anymore. I have a Galaxy S and it used to show up fine, I even checked the website and it wasnt showing p anywhere. any ideas????
I confirm this ... am glad that I didn't buy it
Kris
Yeah its not there anymore =/ Hope its just for a code overhaul and that it will be back soon.
Looks like its a licensing Problem
http://code.google.com/p/n64oid/issues/detail?id=1
Ya that seems to be the problem on all the sites i am reading. something about the source that was used to port over was licensed differently and is not compatible with Google licensing. anyway its off the market!
This is the email I got directly from Yong this morning:
A great number of users are complaining about the compatibility and running performance. I am doing a rewrite of some of the core modules. Don't worry, N64oid will be back much better in 1-2 months.
Thanks for the understanding!

The app is not in the Market because I bet people where looking for legal copies of roms...hahahaha
@k4str0
I received the same email. Looks like it will be back on the market in a couple months. Looking forward to it.
Quite a long time... I guess there's nothing else we could do now but waiting and drinking tea
it was back yesterday for a second then went again!???
It seems unnecessary to remove an app while you perfect it. I've already paid for it, and now I won't be about to install it (via the Market at least) on my new phone in a couple of weeks. Poor show. I hope I won't be expected to pay for it again once it re-releases.
Must be because of the 2-300 morons that left negative rating and saying it was laggy and buggy and couldn't understand that this app was still in development which was clearly stated by the developper. Hope to see it in the market soon, till then, i'll continue playing starfox and super mario!
I don't mind the issue, won't stop me from advancing in Zelda OOT and Mario 64 haha. I have it backed up in Titanium Backup so I will still be using it until he puts it back on, I still am very satisfied ^_^
This makes me sad.
Reviews are easily changed, and that's the way the Market works. If an app improves significantly between releases then I, and plenty of others, will be inclined to revisit their review.
By removing the app altogether, it will prevent people who have bought the game and uninstalled it from reinstalling it in future. That isn't fair. Thankfully I still have it installed, and have made a backup of the APK.
I probably come across as more miffed than I actually am - I'm actually more pleased that he's taking the time to make some significant improvements, provided that I don't end up having to pay again for the re-release.
I don't know why they make such a big deal over "only use LEGAL roms", if you actually buy the games now the developers dont make a dime off of them since they stopped making them ages ago.
Hi I have just installed Nova 2 on my phone I'm running ke7 and every time I open the app I get a black screen and the game won't boot. Is anyone else having the same problem and does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Hi guys,
I initially bought the LG Optimus 2x but it had loads of issues with random reboots so returned it and paid the extra for the Galaxy S2 (Should have bought it in the first place!). I bought Starfront, Eternal Legacy, Sacred Odyssey, Asphalt 6, Nova 2, Shadow Guardian, Modern Combat 2 before all the problems started but because i paid via paypal i cant see any downloads in my history on the site as i've only now registered a username so i can post. I totally understand that it takes time to offer full support for every new handset model but would really appreciate an email with some download links as im happy to continue being a gameloft customer and so far am happy with the service. I can forward copies of all my purchase invoice emails from paypal/google checkout if necessary.
BTW i bought asphalt 6 from the market but its not yet listed on the SGS2
Many Thanks
Hi there! Our agent has contacted you.
Please check your mail
One of the agents contacted me, i gave them the full list of games plus all online reciepts and recieved texts and an email with links to 3 of the 7 games i purhcased within 4 days.
Whilst i appreciate the quickish response there was no mention of a refund for the remaining games that are currently 'incompatible' nor was there any further explanation as to WHY they are incompatible considering the device spec and the fact that i can run games 'Optimized for nVidia Tegra 2 processors' or any other current chipsets available with minimal fuss(root and a certain awesome app/drivers). Frankly i dont understand why there are different versions of the games depending on chipsets as this just adds to the fragmentation unneccessarily, just stick with a decent graphical standard (Opengl ES?) as you use practically the same graphics engine for every game.
Also i purchased N.O.V.A. 2 HD but was sent N.O.V.A 1 with again no explanation. I want either my games, my refund, or at the very least a decent explanation on the whole issue, certainly not to be treated like an idiot.
Whilst Gameloft may not appreciate why i havent just emailed support all this i get the impression that the person im dealing with there is more customer service helpdesk oriented and wouldnt understand half the aforementioned rant. No offense i just want the right people to see this and for other users to made aware so no-one else has to deal with the hassle.

I'm frustrated with the current lack of game support for the sgs2 especially from gameloft but dont get me wrong, you bought games for the lg x2, games obviously optimized to run with its hardware. It was your decision to return it and buy a sgs2 (good decision by the way!) but why should gameloft refund you the games they sold you for the lg 2x in the first place...they might (probably will) make them compatible with our device but until then I dont see why they should be obligated to do anything else....
I couldn't agree more. I had the i9000 and I swear more games worked on that than the "upgrade"
Agreed hardware it rips all over the sgs1 but for compatibility this phone is 100% lame

Whilst it would be good to have all games working, a little patience is required. I would say there are plenty of decent games on the phone. It can only get better too.
I´ve heard that OpenGL ES is a standard and requirement to android, and all phones support it.
But for games to work better with tegra, adreno etc they have to use *special* or *customised* instructions or whatever its called..
The Mali gpu dont need any *special* instructions for games to run good.
Samsung introduced a gpu that follow STANDARD OpenGL ES yet it is not supported lol.
A question tho, is there no way to make use of Chainfire 3D to run tegra, powerVR etc versions of gameloft games for sgs2?
I can´t make it work
lol

Hi Guys,
Well im using my play since september 2011...
At the first i was suprised about the good gaming qualitiy..
Then i wanted to flash roms on it and it was the pure hell i think..
At the beginning of 2011 i started to android with a Galaxy S i9000 and it has soo many roms at the moment like ICS, MIUI and CM7/9 and all are working perfect..
So for me the xperia play is become boring cause there arent many custom roms which are good working.
Okay we have MIUI = BT and TP not working
CM7 = TP are not working in Some games
CM9 = Data is Buggy
That's why I feel compelled to use the stock firmware SE
What are you thinkin about the Play and Custom Roms?

I haven't rooted my phone or unlocked bootloaders and stuff but I have to say the Xperia Play is a amazing device. I haven't been bored of it since I got it and it's been 5 months.
I'm loving it !
The only thing that started to annoy me after 6 months of having it is the slider. The gap is getting more and more annoying and the slider started to loosen it's stability.

Yea I noticed that one the one on display at the ATT store. I'm gonna ride this device as long as I can.
I am upset about the support for the device but I'll probably just get another android in the next year and keep this one for my emulators.

I find it more fun that there are fewer "perfect" roms for the PLAY, because then we get to help with testing and bughunting

I can see that you are neither gamer nor worker. This device is mainly for 2 kind of people:
1- People who are obsessed with games .
2- People who want to waste thier time at work.
Not for who love editing(tampering with) systems.
i think this phone is good enough for me.i like to waste my time at work..
I actually switched from a Samsung Fascinate to this phone because I am both a gamer and a worker. I love this phone!

At op, even though I came from a hd2 (probably one of the most versatile mobile phones ever in terms of software) I'm still not bored of this phone. There is enough here to keep me busy and ICS (official) shouldn't be two far off which will mean more goodies from the chefs.
ya we dont have many roms to play with
Before my Xperia Play I owned an Xperia Arc, got my Play in September too, And I can say I have not got bored yet..., The Xperia Arc has a lot more roms and tweaks but I've never been a fan of custom roms anyway. Both good devices and I do not regret any of my Androids.
I never really used ROMs or tweaks on my Xperia Arc, and I never visited the Xperia Arc section more than once, Never got into modding Android until my Xperia Play.
I love my Xperia Play even though i'm not into modding and stuff like that.
Even though i'm a gamer I do use for other stuff as well like watching videos, whatsapp and surfing the net.
I think of it as a high end smartphone with physical buttons.
It's awesome !
Had my phone for over a year, love the thing.
Stayed on stock ROM the entire time , thought about rooting it , but eh.
Used ADW launcher and Go launcher , find Go Launcher is a bit better but more laggy.
However i find Sony is doing a great job supporting the phone , ICS update is in another month and a bit. Playstation Suite is in a few weeks. ( i bet at the same time as ICS).
Other then a few minor annoying issues.
I know for a fact we will see an Xperia Play 2 next year. However do to Sony taking over the Ericcson part. Bet its going to be called the Xperia Vita. Or something along that line

Had mine since May 2011 and I myself am starting to feel bored.
I'm rooted on 2.3.4 with stock SE ROM. Oh well,PSVITA next week and I'll be a happy gamer
Been satisfactory to me. I only bought it to do all those elaborate smartphone functions that my DS/PSP/VITA can't, while also breaking free from the constraint that quality TACTILE gaming required me to have a whole other device on my person.
Far from bored and at the rate we get high-rating game software I don't see that changing soon.

I liked it for like 3-4 months. I was so exited when i first got it. I thought like "Oh! I will be able to play PSP games and ****! this is gonna be awesome". Buuuuut after i finished Zelda OOT I got bored. I started to look for good games, and yes, I found some like GTA 3, but the controls isn't just working out for me.
So, yesterday, I ordered a HTC chacha. Why? Because I've always loved the design of the Blackberry, but I hate the OS. So what do you do? Well, you buy a Blackberry look-a-like with Android = HTC chacha! I will receive it in like 2-3 days. I think I'll be satisfied. Plus, it was only like $150 so.
The Xperia Play wasn't what I was expecting at first. Sure, it was cool to show of N64oid, GTA3 and some other games for friends.. but other then that, it's not for me.
But I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the dev's on this forum for all the help through out this 6 months I've had this phone, love you guys. And I'm sure I'll pop in sometimes when I've decided to turn my Xperia Play into a gaming device only. Take care guys!
Yup, same thing with me. I'm bored of playing the games already available on the phone. Want more new original stuff.

Hey guys, i've been here quite a while. And nowadays people keeps coming in with question that've been probably answered and a lot of dev seem to hav lost their interest in developing this phone.:banghead:
I really wonder who's gonna help us with our problem. And i sriously don't think the play moderator could handle everything here by themself. I obviously don't hav enough on me to be of any use to help this community.
So what're we gonna do when all the devs are gone?? Who's gonna provide us the things that we may need?? Where would we go to when we're lost in developing??
I'm really bump up with everythings that been going on with this device. All the news, the stories, the gossip, article, blog etc. Everything that this device had offered when it 1st appear had already been top off by some dual/quad core tegra 3 1gb/2gb ram device.
So the real Q is how long does this section's gonna last...

Don't worry. As I see, the developers are still crazy about Xperia Play and they prefere it to GS3 because of GAMEPAD.
This section is not gonna die.:good:
Yeah i also noticed that. The play does not have the community that it deserves. But my play just died and since i am on exchange year in taiwan right now i cant send it to sony. But phones are cheap here so i just bought a xperia sola. Problem solved. I miss gamepad though.

Dude, for example take a look at the X8 section.
The phone came out in Summer 2012 and has 180MB RAM (~90 of which is usable) and it has a HUGE community.
Over 400 ROM's, and has fully working Jelly Bean , how may I ask?, new developers come along.
But may be a slightly different story here
Just enjoy our magnificent devs whilst they are still there, Cosmicdan Wedgess sechko Markphyton rocks and our god pax make the play work at it's best!

I think it is time up for this device, Cyanogenmod team said they stopped supporting Snapdragon S1 devices, I think that's what the Play uses. At least we had CM7 and CM9 stable which both run great, we will get a CM10 port too from FXP. Overall the device is limited by the performance. Sony isn't going to upgrade this model, just have to hope another company will create something similar for us, but I'm not interested in tablets with controller.
Well, my xperia play recently broke and im getting a new one. I had a choice of S3, but i chose the play. Because its unique and wont die.

I'm hoping more will join this thread to asses their needs of the Play section. Just so we'll know what're n how many are still interested in this section. Hopefully to get more than 50 users/members to tell us n re-asure us that this section is gonna last. Coz this "may be" my last device. As my twins needs more financial attention than my interest in gadgets. I lov this phone. Just want to keep it up to date as possible. Hoping to get more n any kinds of supports from users/members to keep this section alive.
"Live hard and Die Well"
I'm not sure if this section is gonna last much more time. I think the Xperia Play is indeed an awesome phone but it just wasn't made for the android hardcore user. I used to theme my phone so much and to change Rom every two days. Now with this phone I don't do either if those things. Anyway I can't imagine myself with another device

Hi all. There is a poll going on for Android device prioritization for Baldurs Gate: Enhanced Edition. So throw your vote towards the Note 10.1. You will likely have a sign up for the forum... No big deal right
http://forum.baldursgate.com/discus...ould-we-prioritize-our-development-for#latest
Us Android users need to help out devs like this!
Thanks!
Well, I voted but it looks like we're pretty far behind on votes. I don't like that. I've been waiting ages for EE to come out and now I'm beginning to wonder if the tablet I chose to go with will ever get it. I hope that all the tablets listed will get the game eventually instead of some of them just being tossed to the gutter.
Well even though I already finished the game on the PC, I also voted for 10.1. 3rd place isn't so bad.
Option A : Wait for them to maybe get their version working on our tablet
Option B : Buy the original game on GOG and run it today using GemRB. And then when you're done, use that same app to play the sequel, and the IceWind Dale games.
No contest IMO.

Meh. Tried GemRB and it was buggy. The EE promises to be optimized for tablets, which in my mind is no contest.
