This is what I've been waiting for...once you guys clean it up . Sense and 2.2 will give my Eris another year or two of useful life.

i can't believe this hasn't gotten any love. i think it's awesome, and for the first version, pretty darn usable. great work and i look forward to the next few versions.

You and Kaos need to up some screenshots..... I still have no idea what this looks like on the Eris.

New Version up!
Basically just changed everything to English (thanks to tazz for letting me use his files), and added speed tweaks (png optimize = speed & reduced rom size, zip align = less ram used when ran, and a kernel tweak at /system/etc/sysctl.conf that really improves speed,details can be found at the link in the original post.) rom is a little slow at first (syncing and stuff) but once by the second boot and an over clock it was flying. Also attached pictures focusing on the froyo changes to the post, and updated the post.

Does the notification LED work on this rom? I know it doesn't work on Tenzo's but it doesn't say here if it does or doesn't.. Thanks and great job with the rom so far! I can't wait for the camera to work

Does this ROM have all that weird Chinese software (that weird alternate market, for instance?)

This rom has everything the port had, which includes the Chinese software. I was running this rom for like 2 days straight and it was pretty stable, no fc's or anything.

I haven't tried it (haven't tried to remove any app yet) but couldn't you just remove GoMarket.apk from /system/app?

no if u remove it , it screws everything up , most of the time cant even boot it lol it not just us check out the other threads they are haven issues with it also

BTW, if compare with GingerDX, which one is better? in terms of performance, features, smoothness, 3D and 2D gaming, performance running app, and wake up speed, dialer launch speed

Looks good and feels good. I've put Go Launcher with Ice Cream Sandwich theme and it's nice. Noticed a few things though, there was lag before a separate reboot was performed. Now it's smooth. There is no SMS sound, but that's already well known. Can't use Timescape, doesn't want to download Facebook updates. When I slide down the notification bar I've managed to bring it up just once so far, otherwise I have to use the back button. This might be due to the transparent bar in the ROM and the use of another one in Go Launcher... I don't know.

Not very sure but im using with current launcher....
My battery was charged yesterday 10pm and now still remaining 75%....
Try clear battery stats in RECOVERY.......

I'll give it a try for a few days, as it was released so soon it might be my wrong observation. There is this Big Caller ID app that caused some trouble on previous version, I've installed it again now and it's my main suspect We'll see...
One more thing guys, have you tried the GPS so far? Use GPS Sats is unticked and I started Google Maps but after closing it the GPS symbol stayed in the notification bar. No matter if I press the icon or depress it... Reboot got it off.

That´s normal, I also have around 3000+ points on CPU with Quadrant Advanced.
But he also had a 3000+ I/O score, what is not normal.
Maybe he has a good sdcard.

Me too. I'm enjoying v8. I have one issue that I haven't found out how to fix yet. When I set my notification to vibrate, it doesn't vibrate...my haptic feedback works perfect, but vibrate as a notification is dead. Ideas anyone?

Todays snapshots after running V8 all day with 0 defects!
NEO,s done an Incredible job and of course everybody else who was in on the development.
Only issue I had was the boot-looping after flashing the battery and Icon mods, because they work on a different framework than V8 does. Had to re-flash the ROM to fix it!
But I'm sure they'll have that worked out shortly as well, with Video and audio recording, other than that this ROMS smooth fast and has been stable all day, with 0 defects from telephony and texting or e-mail as well!

YUP!!! THOSE ARE SCREENIES FROM TODAY, I INSTALLED V8 THIS MORNING AND HAVE BEEN RUNNING IT ALL DAY, AND NAVIGATING, TAKING CALLS, TEXTING, AND GETTING E-MAILS SYNCED WITH O DEFECTS.
SO FAR THIS ROMS WORKING INCREDIABLY WELL, DESPITE ALL THE CHATTER IVE BEEN READING ABOUT PROBLEMS!! SCRATCHING MY HEAD!!! GO FIGURE!!!

out of memory
strange........ I restored my apps with titanium and when I started updating them from the market it stated that i'm out of memory (I checked and I still got 1.4G free on SD and 6.5G on the internal SD)
anyone else had that problem?

As of right now this is an issue with all the ICS ROMS. ICS for some reason returns this error if you have only or over 512MB of system memory used for applications. Move the largest to your SD Card through app manager until you have 450 or less used on internal app storage.

i'm still curious what magic lagfix your using when those convert samsungs own Filesystem to Ext4. this isn't samsungs file system. this runs on Yaffs.
also the battery mods work fine. you just can't flash them back to back with V8, must flash them after booting the OS then going back into CWR.

another thing I'm having is: when I turn on the Wifi my phone stays awake all the time, even when I turn it off (keep wifi on during sleep is already on Never). only when i reboot my phone then it stops to stay awake (and will do the same thing if I'll turn on the wifi again)

Was thinking about giving it a try, currently running another ICS based rom.

"I suggest you need to flash fresh after doing these steps:
1. Open zip file on your PC.
2. Delete /system/etc/init.d
3. Place THIS file in system/bin, after renaming this to setupdata (without the txt)
4. Flash it. Enjoy no lag but less quadrant."

No sure what you are asking. You can get to recovery from the Reboot screen.
CW Recovery version shows 5.5.0.2.
I've installed the Voodoo app for voodoo controls.

And that is only for graphics display, so what??
Now go install passion V8 ICS and then send us a screenie depicting the same results!
DOING A FULL BENCHMARK, NOT A CUSTOM ONE!!
If you can get a full benchmark of over 3000 using V8!
Then you need to post full settings for all of us who are running V8!
And BTW there isn't any lag fix for V8, only for V7, that's why Neo came out with V8 36 hours later, to address the framework and instability issues!

I installed version 8 a few days ago. It is fast and FC issues is reduced. GPS fixed really quickly at times and other times takes forever.
But the main issue is this.
I have a problem with the muffled voice when making calls. It's on/off. Voice goes from muffled to being robotic. It was so bad that I had been resorting to texting almost exclusively. This seems to happen more when I receive calls and less when I make calls.
Anyone have this issues. Is there a way to fix this.
Trying to isolate the problem. I reinstalled several times. This time I have not restored any backups. But still the same result.
I apologized for posting this here ... I can't post directly in development yet.

Yes, it's possible to use settings.apk from CM9, I've tried myself already, but I don't think it's worth it, for one, you loose the modifications Dzo has made specific for Aurora, like in the sound settings, second, some options are not supported, for example, notification bar toggles require systemUI.apk from cm9 and that one crashes in Aurora. The performance options, I don't know, but I think they require specific kernel properties to be changed or CM9 specific stuff too...
IMO, better to wait for CM9 by Blefish, he's readying a first release on the forum maybe this week already

yes i know, i have been in contact with Blefish and he allready finished his custom bootloader, he will release a new kernel with CM9 and he allready have sound, ril and other things working, the only thing it not working its wifi until now...
he is hopping to get touch working in recovery too
i allready tryed dsp manager from cm9 and its working with aurora, maybe he could had it to 1st page as other mod too?

u made me install aurora 2.10 with kernel4 just to try this and im very happy with it i always loved more miui style but i think im going to keep this aurora for a while if it doesnt shows me to much bugs =) thks

i wish i could use this with honeycomb battery icons.

No real racing 3 for tab 2 :( [SOLVED]

Real Racing 3 was released for android yesterday and the market shows it is incompatible with tab 2......
very disappointing :crying: . I tried installing it from other sources and the game works fine but car textures are missing. I am sure it isnt a GPU problem cuz devices like xperia s and galaxy nexus which have same gpu are supported....Hope EA resolves it soon....
So has anyone else had a different experience....Plz share...

Samsung's stock ROM's are good but Cyanogenmod's is better. If you want better graphics you should install their m1 release of CM10.1. I'm currently on that rom. (If you have the p3113, you will need to install the p3110's ROM, I changed the build prop. Model number back to p3113)

For real racing fans, here is way to download officially data from app itself:
1.install na for north americans, row for rest of world residents
2.shut every data mobile or wifi
3.open real racing

Hi there i did as u said but i'm still getting bad textures for the car... screen shots in a post in this thread..
May i know which rom r u running...And maybe some screen shots would be great...

Yes it worked on stock awesomly when sideloaded.
Butter gameplay....loved that
Just cars texture sucked.....ea pls make ghis compatible to tab 2 officially....thanx

Well EA hasn't even made Real Racing 2 compatible with our tab till now so why will they even bother with RR3....
Maybe in a future update, while fixing for other devices, our tab may also benefit from it...
Also i saw this article on one X forum for RR3 :

it's a patch of some sort given at the end of the first post... is it possible to have something to fix the textures using something like this???

Hmm, then i think there's some problem with stock rom itself...Can't blame the gpu for bad textures cuz xperia S has same GPU and I have seen it run perfectly.. And as i have come to learn that it is indeed working on cm10.1 rom pretty well, so maybe Samsung rom/ unupdated gpu drivers in stock kernel are the culprit...
Anyways i have no idea What to do next..
Maybe its time to flash cm10.1

And car textures????are the good in cm10.1 or same as stock
And here is fix for textures problems:
First download this:
download
Rar file will have 3 folders for high,mid,xtrahigh
Choose whatever resolution you want( then open it and enter to next folder according to your row or na versions)
In that folders you will get some files copy all and paste here
Sdcard/android/data/real racing 3 sd data folder/.depot/eds
And make sure that you took a backup of all files those were in that folder for case if anything goes wrong
