getting goog Nav to work on Darch Legend v2?

Darch Legend v2 is by far darch's quickest and least buggy release. The main downside on that ROM is that Google nav won't work properly.
It starts up fine and the voice even starts giving you prompts...but right after it says "acquiringdirections" or whatever, the screen goes black and it doesn't show the maps/roads. After that it freezes and is useless.
I asked darch how he got it working in his next releases and he said it is a system framework issue.
I'm starting this thread cuz I'm on a mission to get it working but I'm not a dev. I am gonna start looking at the differences in framework between the two roms to see what files need to be moved where.
If anyone (devs or not) has any ideas of what might be causing this, please join the conversation. I'm hoping to get some help. Thanks. Once I get the fix, I'll post it for the rest of xda. But I'll get it way quicker if I have some help.
So....any ideas? Would using logcat help me in this situation?

Its not looking good on this issue. That ver. leak had a couple issues with it including no web in apps. So I think you would do better going to the newest version and working those issues out. Your taking on a major task just to get maps to work.

Also the newest darchlegend uses the newest legend ruu

Ya...but its super laggy compared to v2. My maps works fine, I use it all the time. It's just Nav that's funky.

Ya, it's not that it's laggy, it's only Rosie that is... though i finally got around to speeding it up. shall release an update in the near future

i can confirm that its just rosie i was running vanilla and the helix launcher on 4.1 and it ran better and faster than any other 2.1 out there to be honest

4.1 is not laggy if you download autokiller and set it to aggressive. I hung on to v2 for a while because I liked the responsiveness, but in my opinion v4.1 is just as good in that area with the autokiller.

Awesome! I can't wait for the next release. Love ur work. Ill turn off rosie on 4.1 and see how it goes.

So who is using FreshToast 2.0?

I plan on updating later today now they we finally have working camera! Has anyone had any problems with it so far?

I am using it. So far so good.

It has been really nice so far.

Only issue I have had is LWP in sense. Seems to drag the phone to a crawl.

Was there a new thread made about it? I can't seem to find it, and all I see is FreshToast 1.1 when I search. Care to link, please?

I just setup JIT also and it is nice actually having the camera with it. I'm using GDE and getting 4.611 MFLOPS.

He isn't charging for the ROM. But those who donate do get earlier access to the beta releases from him. I don't know as there is a set price. Just what you feel I guess is the way he sees it.

CPU is scaling perfectly to 768Mhz and the camera works!!!!
Haven't done any benchmarks yet.
Only thing I've run into so far, is that the weather animations on the sense home screen are busted. Just a bunch of gray rectangles. Like the texture pngs are missing...
I have not tried LWP. I'm done with LWP. Its cool and all... but I'll just wait for the EVO when it's done right

I think the weather animations are a small price to pay for overclock and camera on 2.1

im using it and its great.. LWP as reported slows stuff down big time. Another problem i'm having is getting Ap2sd to work right. I had everything working great and then i moved dalvik and my apps to my partition and haven't been able to get the dang thing to boot after that.. Anyone else having this problem?

Like I said... Ive given up on LWP. Its cool, but not worth the resources IMO...

No. My Dalvik-cache is working fine. I did a2sd cache and a2sd nocache without issues.
Do a2sd check and let me know the results.

The new update for X10 is out already! after about 8 hours of using and about 7-8 reboots the phone seems fast now!
Now what does that mean it means we can implement All 2.3.3,2.3.4 or 2.2 roms out there with the Perfect camera!

If you are starting from 2.1 or 2.2 roms i recommend going with Wolf's rom as its both faster and has more features than stock!

1. Can't use as Flash.
2. Run smooth but lag when using app killer
3. Usually ~45% Free and when kill ~65% free. Task will rise up to 40 tasks after killed for 2mins
4. Run smooth, look the Arc and you will see that they are the same.

Camera UI is the same Android 2.1 but better. Applications on SD Card is ready.

I don't know, for me the GB update feels very clunky. It's slow ,laggy, and actually gets worse than 2.1 sometimes. It's super stable though and camera is a huge plus, and I'm loving facebook inside xperia.

45% and 65%? of the total ram that is 386mb ram right? so around 150mb is available? or 45~65mb is atleast available
is X10 still worth getting if i have $330 in my pocket with that Gingerbread Update?

Very pleased with the update. I think SE did a great job! I actually for once like the new timescape widget...however what bugs me is that they didn't link the camera to timescape anymore. So, once root is available, im affraid timescape has to go lol. If they would have linked the camera to it, I for sure would have kept timescape this time.
My only other thing is im patiently waiting for a root method...I know there's pre-rooted firmware, but Im just not in the mood to flash back to 2.1, root it, blah blah blah. So i'll wait.
I just hope Z or someone is actually working on a root method?

I agree. Timescape and the whole Facebook inside Xperia concept is amazing and works well. I just wish there was a way to 'show friendship' like in facebook, where it groups you and that person's FB tagged pics, status tags, wall posts etc. into one app. That would be cool.

Ok, so who thinks Android is now out of beta status with ICS, and JB? This finally feels like a complete OS. Its amazing.
Anyway, whats the best part of Jelly Bean on the Nexus S so far?
My favorite so far is the Camera. I have never seen a camera take a picture so quick, even on the One X or GSIII.

Wow! I had not tried the camera!! It really is amazingly fast!!
I like how accurate the new voice search is. Google really killed siri
Btw, JB imho is not so buttery-smooth. However, after a few changes I think I'm satisfied:
-Change launcher to Nova
-Root and use something like Rom toolbox to change the I/O scheduler. This greatly affected my phone. I went from cfq to deadline and it's visibly snappier.

Is your front camera working? I am having problem with front camera. Each time I switch to front camera, it crashes and then wont open untill i clear data of camera app

Yep, working fine.

Two words. Project Butter.

ICS was very smooth for me this is as smooth and just so much faster @ stock speed compared to 1.3ghz I ran on ICS.
Can't wait to see how fast things are with customs OC kernels
Launcher still blows homescreen transition not smooth at all just snappier
App drawer smooth though

The first thing I changed was the I/O scheduler. Deadline or noop ftw for ondemand.

I am impressed of the Gallery scrolling! The picture scroll is finally fast without lags! In more off 20 rom tested the Gallery was always bad!!!

Have you guys noticed that oftentimes when you press the power button to wake the phone, the homescreen shows up for a split sec before the lockscreen?

Project butter is smooth for me ... can definatly see the higher frame rate.
But I really love Google now , already used it twice without setting anything , told me I needed to leave by 3:15 to get to my dark knight showing
And also gave me local bus times while I was waiting at a bus stop

If I'm not mistaken, my G2 does the same thing if its a quick off and on action. The phone hasn't gone into a deep sleep just yet or something of the like. About Google Now. Its awesome and what the above poster said is pretty sweet. I personally like the new notification drawer look.

Is there any way to make Google Now use metric units in queries while still keeping US english as default language? For ex. I want to get height, distance etc results in meters, kilometers etc.. Why isn't everybody using the metric system!? Why?!

I've now found that when viewing and zooming in on a detailed picture in the gallery, it no longer as any issues with any compression artifacts, it's spot on now :good:
Also, the recent apps list pops up much quicker too.

I've never had good luck with interactive on this phone, except for Bugless Beast Gingerbread. Ondemand is a good balance for performance and battery. You can see how the cpu works now from some apps like ROM Toolbox. Much more aggressive, but battery is the same for me, which is good.

Actually, if I'm flashing the CM9 Kernel as well ( which is made for LT15, running at 1GhZ ) it should change the clock, but it doesn't matter : aside from that, is it safe? Anyone tried?

WLan was ok first. Then I drove to my Father in Law and wanted to connect to his WLAN, it was found and I was able to enter key but then it never connected. I know there is a workaround for this but hey, when I download something "stable", I would, at least, expect a working WLan.
Sound & Video recording is still stuttering and Soundvolume is way to low.
And, as always, when I tried to flash another Rom I got the Error message because my Phone wasnt recognized as a LT18i anymore.
On my Dream, on my GT540, on my ACE, even on my Kaiser, Cyanogen was THE alternate System to stock (in Kaisers case WinMo lol ) but for my ARC S this is nothing. It´s frustrating after I only bought the ArcS only cause of that sticker on the Case : "ICS Upgrade available"
And back to Gingerbread again :/

I gave up on this a week or so ago:
Font corruption bug means that the text is sometimes unreadable.
Low ringer/alert volumes
Buggy network geolocation (I would drive to work 25 miles away and network geolocation would still think I was at home).
Wi-Fi connect issues after a few days of use.
Unreliable camera. Sometimes it hangs up the device.
I can live with volume issues but I can't live with these other bugs. I hope CM10 is more polished.
So Arconium it is for now ... but I'll try JJs Hybrid when there is a new release.

That's what rec71 meant with font corruption. It's acctualy faults in kernel 2d rendering.

TouchScreen not working
I installed the stable cm9..flashed the fxp133 kernel..the installation went smooth but my screen touch function is lost..Any ideas??
Eventually restoring to the stock kernel with JJ hybrid..and yeah the touch is working with this one. So is the problem cos of the kernel or the ROM??

Its actually gonna stay there, that bug its been there since rc1 and cyanogenmod team say they have no intention to fix that one.
Btw, your all better of with fxp133, i at least find it better than the official one, camera working nicely, fast, smooth, youtube on hq working, only found 1 bug so far, nothing major, and of course battery life is amazing.

It should work without any problems, did you wipe cache and dalvik?

Only the port of the se home, the phone and phone book apps only work with the xperia framework, cyanogenmod uses aosp framework.
