Flash Wifi OS over a Verizon tab.? - Galaxy Tab General

I bought a galaxy tab a few weeks after it was released. I loved it then. I at one point downloaded Koush's galaxy tab recovery and attempted to install it only for the tab to get a fatal error during the backup. I used Odin and put it back to stock and figured probably shouldn't try that again. Gave it to my wife when the Xoom came out, that's what I use now. Just gave her a Nexus 7 so I am giving the tab to a friend in Canada to use as a reader basically, he might use it for a little more, but who knows.
Can I flash the wifi only components over heimdall and make it a wifi only tab for him? Like get all the files you'd use to make a wifi only tab fully stock and flash that. Since being a Verizon tab itself is useless for him in canada. And With the tab being locked down and not really flash friendly thanks to VzW, and kinda leaves him on the stock OS. I And I don't think he cares about the 3g anyways.
Any help, thoughts, and opinions are greatly appreciated.

Any other information contributed would be highly appreciated.......
TerminatorXman is offering $50 reward to whoever makes a Recovery w/ a 1.6 ROM for the Behold II
Finally some real interest in development for the behold2 ,. You might want to get in contact with sammydroid , flako , and even Kam who has been involved with development of the galaxy which similar to the behold , and already has custom roms ....
Here's the old thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=597501
And you can get more info @ alldroid.org ,androidforums.com ....
Thanks....
I think I found out how to dump
adb pull /system C:\<whatever>
Is that right?
So I created a DUMP of my Behold II. My question before I post it is, is there any danger in posting a dump. For example will it contain any of my private info (passwords, etc) or is it just system files?
Pretty much just system stuff.

My mytouch went down in flames and I got the behold 2 on craigs for $150.
Some one plese help.
Im rooted with busybox- Lets get er done
Well, we're still stuck on 1.5 BUT the galaxy is getting their 2.0 update in early feb. Once they do we can probably port it to the Behold2.
As of right now, the only other thing I can recommend is do this:
http://androidforums.com/samsung-behold-2/35487-galaxy-stock-android-behold-2-flies.html
Follow those steps and you'll be able to flash the Galaxy system onto your Behold2. It gets rid of TouchWiz and makes the phone ridiculously fast. There literally is no more 1 or 2 sec delay between opening apps, movies, etc. Everything is instant and there is NO RISK or bricking your phone. If you mess up you just ODIN the original back.
Does the galaxy rom effect any T-mobile USA Funtionality
Does the galaxy rom effect any T-mobile USA Funtionality.
I mean MMS/SMS or 3g. Any problems at all reported?
Also what is ODIN? Not really a NOOB but coming from HTC phones only.
The offer is still out there...$50

I actually get a better 3g signal in my area. Idk if it has anything to do or not. ODIN, I think, are the stock files of the B2. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE I905

I have the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G LTE i905 Tablet and would like to root it and also upgrade to ICS or JB. I am new here but so far all the searching I have done comes up with nothing for this model. Will other ROMs work on this device? Does anyone know how to root this device and/or upgrade to the new OS's? If you can help me please post a link or some info on what I can do. Please be as specific as possible. Thanks for any help out there.
If youre on contract paying for mobile data youre SOL. Until an official release of ICS is made by Verizon for the SCH-i905 there are no ROMs out that have the modem drivers required for this device. If you dont care about LTE then either the CM9 or CM10 releases by pershoot would work and can be found on droidbasement.

There are several builds for it - I've put some on before. There's even a JB build that looks incredible. But - unfortunately no one has been able to get a modem working. There is a post from early August where a guy had a dev OTA build pushed down to his tablet, but he won't help pershoot out with the files he needs to get it working. So - I echo the comment that until Verizon gets their act together, you'll have to wait.

Fix S5 Dev Edition and or root new S5 on Mac

Hello fellow Android community. Recently I ended up bricking my Verizon S5 Dev Edition using Safestrap. I went out and bought a new consumer S5 it's running Kit Kat 4.4.4 NK2. I already know Towelroot doesnt work to root it. I'm using a Mac with Hemidall 1.4.0 installed and can't access Windows XP in Virtual Box no longer as it won't install properly. Is there any way I can fix my Verizon Dev Edition and or root this new Verizon S5 without having access to an actual PC using ODIN? Last summer I flashed the wrong file on my Dev Edition and it locked the bootloader making it a consumer version. Currently Verizon S5 Dev Editions from Samsung are on backorder. I'm setup to be emailed when they are in stock and it will take 4 weeks for them to get the product according to their site. Thanks for the help. This has been cross posted in another forum pertaining to root but less extensive in detail.
I have already towlroot installed on my current S5 and files to downgrade even though im already on NK2 stock.

Did you make a backup of your aboot partition from the Developer Edition? The second you get a new Developer Edition, don't do anything and PM me. I'll walk you through how to backup your Developer Edition bootloader for safekeeping in case you need to unlock your device again. It's very important to make a backup first thing.

Hi Ryan thanks for writing me back on my issues with the S5. Ok well yesterday I got Virtual Box to work as I updated the version and installed Windows XP on my Mac. I had used it previously and successfully had used Odin before. However this time I cant get it to recognize any USB devices even after ejecting them from the Mac part. I called Samsung support of the broken Dev S5 and after lengthy talks they refuse to fix it as it's in the system already as "Beyond Economical Repair" from last summer. Another person I reached out to from Brickedmyphone.com got back to me and said he thinks my devices via USB isnt recognized because of emmc failure. When I went to recover my Dev S5 I thought i had a backup in Safestrap but it turned out I didn't. So I did a factory reset thru that then backed out and had it in download mode in which it stayed on. Pulled the battery power on and it stays on Android boot screen now. I never did backup the bootloader of my Dev S5 because no one ever had told me to do so. Never would have thought about doing such a crucial thing. My biggest worry with another Dev S5 is will they be available again as they are on current backorder? And will they still ship out of box with version 4.4.2? When I had the S5 it wouldn't system update at all so my guess is that's the only version it will have unlike the regular S5 that now has 4.4.4? I guess with the Dev Edition weather I flash anything on it or not is that the warranty after 30 days is void. I figured if I didn't flash a custom recovery on that phone I would have been ok but thats not the case. I've had TWRP on my past two Droids and rarely do I run into problems.
As far as the regular S5 from Verizon i plan to return it for majority of my money back by the 17th. But what do you recommend I do for a phone in the mean time? Unless I can get my bricked S5 up and running again. It has a broken Sd card reader anyhow so eventually would have to be replaced.
Note 4 Dev Edition
I'm considering getting Note 4 Dev Edition even if the S5 Dev is available in weeks to come from now. I read someone posted a custom rooted deoxedized without knox rom for it. Otherwise your not able to root it? I plan to try a Note 4 from the store once i return this here consumer S5 to Verizon next week Friday. @ryanbg

You can most definitely root any Dev edition regardless of ROM. Send me a message when you have the phone in hand and I'll give you a hand. I'll help you back up your bootloader too.

Thanks for the reply although very late. I ended up going with a rooted Samsung Galaxy S5 off ebay which is new running 4.4.2. By the time I purchased this phone the Note 4 and S5 Dev editions where still on backorder and I needed a phone quickly. I do like the Note 4 and can't wait for the Note 5 this fall to see what it will be like. I also have an inetrest in the LG G4 heard good things about the specs on it.

[Q] Custom ROM's for T337A model Tab 4 8" ?

Hello, I may be having trouble finding the info, but I am hoping to find a good, clean ROM for my AT&T Galaxy Tab 4 8 inch tablet (SM-T337A). I have rooted it, and the main reason I want a new ROM is to make sure I can unlock it when I dump AT&T for T-Mobile, so other options to do that would be appreciated, also. Thanks for any help!
I have a Galaxy Tab 4 from AT&T as well. As far as I can tell, the device has a locked bootloader, and there hasn't been a development effort to try to bypass it. So, in the meantime, we're unable to install custom ROMs. Thanks AT&T.

If you just want to use it on TMO, you can have it unlocked. I had mine unlocked (I had to use a third party unlock service because AT&T wouldn't do it for some reason). But, just so you know, it is not eligible for the free 200mb plan yet. I made a request to TMO to add this device to the list so I can sign up for it. If you want to go for paid plans, it works just fine.

Please point me in the direction

I have been out of the root and rom loop for over a year but I'm having to use my old note 3 again. It's a sm-900v (whatever it was from Verizon) and I'm running it on AT&T network.
I just need to find roms that work for this device because I updated through kies and got lollipop but the dialer is absolutely not functional. If someone could take a minute or two and show me where to go for this old phone, I will love you forever. Lol

Thanks. I couldn't find that subsection in the app but then again it seems to be having lots of issues since it force updated.
