I know this is going to be made especially difficult with all the different software/combo's that can be loaded, but I have to post this up and see if any one else has seen this and if it might be hardware or software.
I have a HERMS 100 (8525). I first got the phone in April with WM5 (don't know which build they might have been on then) and which ever Radio was coming on them then. My battery would usually last 2 days with my avg use.
This has been the case threw upgrades until the last 2-3 months. I upgraded From one version of WM6 to VP3G's 2.X build of WM6 and I upgraded the radio to which ever version was the newest at that time (maybe 1.47 or 1.50). I Noticed a sudden drop in battery life, but the phone pretty much always made it a full day even with high use, so I didn't think much of it. I did notice about this time that sometimes the phone would alarm me and say it had 20% battery remaining, but if I rebooted the phone it would say 80 or 90% power remaining when it came back on and work fine the rest of the day.
The following has been over the last month. I upgraded to VP3G's 3.0 and again later to 3.6 and again to 3.62. I noticed the battery continued to degrade throughout this time. So I upgraded the radio to 1.54. The battery continued to go down hill at an even rate, but I noticed something else, the battery would not take very long to charge, but was dying faster and faster.
Well I started tracking and experimenting. Starting last week (no change in software or ROM's for the last 2 or 3 weeks) the battery would rarely make it through the day even when the phone was not in use any during the day (Granted I get no cell service at my desk at work, but I never have even back when the phone would last 2 days searching for signal). Most days last week it wouldn't make it 5 hours from being unplugged even when the phone wasn't in use. I decided to run the battery all the way down to where it wouldn't even turn the phone on anymore as I had heard sometimes you needed to do that after a rom upgrade. It did not help, but I noticed that the phone said the battery was fully charged within 2 hours from being completely dead.

Today was the worst, I unplugged it after being plugged in all night. Unplugged it at 6:45am. I did not use the phone, it just stayed in standby (I hadn't even taken it out of standby any today. I am at work with no service (When I say no service, I don't mean sometimes it finds something, I mean no cell service from any carrier makes it past 10 feet of the front doors entering the building and I am about 150 feet from the closest wall to the outside). I grab the phone at around 10:30am to check on a meeting notice, clicked on the phone to wake up and the battery alarm alerted and the battery said I only had 20% power remaining. In 5 minutes of doing what I was doing the battery had gone down to 10% remaining (so the phone went from lost 90% of it's power, never being used in less then 4 hours). I went back to my desk, plugged the phone back in and within an hour I noticed the amber light on the front that I relate it to telling me it's charging had turned green, I unplugged it and checked it and the battery said it was full 100%. Could the battery really charge that fast?

I know this would be easier if I could remember what radio and what version of WM5 came on this phone and loaded it back on and I am in the middle of downgrading the radio since I had ran WM6 with no battery issues separate from WM5 until I did that one upgrade with the radio. I guess I am curious if this could be a hardware (phone or battery) where it's not charging fully or if this seems to be a software issue.
I know all the factors that can be involved make this hard, but thanks for any responses you guys can give.
ok, how about this one, Is my battery screwed? I notice while I am using the phone the battery gets really hot. Today it did the same thing of all of a sudden saying I had 10% power after only using it for 5 mintues, rebooted the phone and now I am back to 70%.

Some solutions you might try:
- turn wifi off.
- turn off all beams
- put in the fake server trick.
- search to see if you have any software that continuously polls the battery or is seeking an exchange server
- ensure all your apps fully close rather than minimise
- invest in a new battery.

Thanks, I have gone through the wiki Continuasly since I got the phone in April, but with all the stuff out there, I could have easily missed something.
- turn wifi off - Never turn it on
- turn off all beams - Beaming disabled
- put in the fake server trick - Have to research that one
- search to see if you have any software that continuously polls the battery or is seeking an exchange server - have to check, don't have exchange server setup. I do have it checking emails every 15 minutes, but I never had any issues with that setting and the battery lasting a couple of days
- ensure all your apps fully close rather than minimise - X button set to close not minimize and I often check it to see whats running.
- invest in a new battery. - Will be doing that next. Just waiting to see what case I might get for Christmas.

I had a similar problem where the stock battery would only ever last for ~7-8 hours - even on standby. I got an extended life 3000mAh battery and that managed to last for about 14 hours.
I had a talk to HTC and they agreed to warranty claim it. I'm still waiting for it back... It was sent back to them on 14/11, and I'm still waiting.
Stop your device checking for emails for a few days and ses what happens. Definitely install the fake server trick. Activesync continuosly trying to do its dirty work can be a pain in the arsenal, at times.

Well I turned off email checks last night and disabled the radio this morning so it wouldn't search for signal when coming to work and set the phone on my desk. I never used it this morning, just had it sitting on my desk in standby, until about 4 hours after I took it off the charger and the phone buzzed me and when I checked the phone the battery said 0% remaining and the phone cut off a few seconds later (now I am sure if I would have turned it back on the battery would say something like 70%, but I didn't do that this time). I left the phone off and plugged it into the computer to charge, the LED on the front come on amber for about 20 minutes then went to green. I turned the phone on and it says 100%. I don't see how the battery went from 0 to 100 in a matter of 20 minutes.
I did a lot of searching the last couple of days and phone issues from email to bad manufactured batteries (which I happen to have the brand someone suggested as a bad one), I also saw people pointing out do the fake server trick, yet I can't find a single time where anyone said what the trick is or how to do it. Not even in the WIKI where the trick was mentioned as a possible fix (or google for that matter, just the same words first posted in a thread here about it).
So, how do you do this server trick?
I plan to get a new battery after Christmas at any rate.

I was having the same battery drain problem (less than 8 hrs on a full charge), I did the fake server and turned off auto day light saving time checking the clock settings, I now get 12 - 15 hrs on a full charge.
I'm running vp3G's 3.62.3 AT&T ROM with radio 1.54.07.00
Thanks! I was just finishing flashing a new ROM when I saw this. I did the fake server trick, but this rom doesn't have the Dya Light Savings time option where the instructions say it should be. Maybe that's all removed by this rom. TIme will tell.

I am using a JasJam for the last 2 months. i dont know if my reply is useful to you or not. As far as battery life is concerned am impressed with mine. Am using TNT's latest ROM and my radio version is 1.54.07.00. I use my phone all day with couple of calls that last about 2-3 min each. But every night I get calls from my gf, to whom I talk for 3 hours straight(mostly starting from 11pm to 2 am) and every day I put my phone to charge after I finish the call. So after finishing the call I still have 50% of battery. Moreover our call starts right after I leave work at 11pm so by the time I reach home which is around 11.30pm my phone connects to wifi too. So all the time am on the call as well as an active wifi connection.
So as per my experience the battery life is cool. So try TNT ROM!!!
Interestingly enough, now I've got my phone back from the warranty claim, it's only drawing 81mA with backlight on, no wifi or BT. Before sending it back, it was drawing ~180mA with backlight on, no wifi or BT.
This will just about double the battery life that I get in theory...
Install BatteryStatus on your device and see what it tells you.

First off I really hope it isn't the phone, for one it's my third one from Cingular since the first two died within 2 weeks (back in may), second it's got one big gash down the corner where it came out of the holder and hit the road one day. I think that would be just enough reason for them to not do anything with it.
Anyway, I am going to replace the battery because I can't figure out why the phone is doing things like saying it has 20% batt remaing, then I reboot and it goes to 70%. I am hoping this is a battery issue. So far the phone has been unplugged for a tad less then one hour, has not been used and the battery meter is on 90%.
Battery Status is a kick butt program and I plan to do some searching today to see if people have benchmarked there ratings/draw. I notice mine jumps randomly. With wifi, BT, all programs all terminated, backlight on the lowest it will go and radio has one bar 3g sometimes, two bars Edge sometimes, but didn't change during watching this list below, but the MA does this every 5 second refresh:

I am currently running a barebones fresh flash WM6 rom with nothing installed except Cingulars media net/ISP settings, radio is 1.47.10. Going to try 1.50 today I think.
I turned the radio off just now and the MA went down (expected) to 84 and is jumping between that and 104. The battery has dropped to 80% since I listed 90 above. The phone has now been unplugged for right at an hour. Also it might be interesting to note that the little battery percent/bar icon on the "Battery Status" software once in a while will display -1% like it is right now, the phones battery display says 80% and when I tap the battery icon on battery status it jumps to 80%.
Anyway, I am just listing points since this thread is here, I know I need to replace the battery first before any additional insight can be brought forward.

Hmm.. On my Schaps 4.22full, radio 1.54.00 on good reception (on Finnish network) I get around 30 mA with GSM and 3G when idling(no wifi, no bluetooth, no beam, backlight around halfway). With airplane mode on I get around 28 mA. Tried with backlight dimmest and the drain was 15mA on GSM network.
Usually I put the 3G off so the battery would last longer.
The phone takes more power when searching the network so it would be a good idea trying to switch the phone part off at your office.
Well, looks like it was indeed the battery. Over the last week the phone would randomly shut off (about 4 times a day), the battery would be at 10% within 4 hours even if the phone hadn't been used, and while using the phone you could almost watch the battery go from 90% to 30% within a 5 minute talk time, reboot the phone and it would be back at 80%.
Put in the new battery yesterday after charging over night and the phone not only didn't shut off at any point, but I had 60% power remaining by the end of the day (with some data and voice use).
The old battery was a Dynapack from China, that I had read on here is prone to defects.

Just got my blackstone, had it for a few days and i need to charge it every day, almost 2 times a day with moderate use. I turned off 3G, turned down the backlight. But still, if i just mess with it a little, in settings and so on, i can litteratly see the battery life getting lower. An hour ago it was 100%, now its on 83%. Any one who got some pointers on this?

I had a similar issue with mine, got it a couple of weeks ago with a stock Orange UK rom onboard.
Battery hasn't fully depleted, but I usually charge it everynight as it quick charges.
I've since put Dutty's 3.9XT Turbo rom on and battery life has been a lot better.
For example, charged overnight last night (from 59%) and am now at 90% after a few texts and emails. Normally I struggle to hold a 3G signal in my office so its alternating between G, 3G and H all the time, which also drains the battery, and have a push mail application running in the background.
I also charge it in the car in my cradle to and from work. Could probably get two days at a push if I needed to, but it would require charging in the car as well to do that.
Thanks. I flashed it with the energy rom, and the battery really sucks. What does actually the "H" mean, when that is in the status field? "E" is edge, G is 3g, but "H" is?
Try disabling 3g to see better battery life. I think my battry life is quite good without 3g. Running latest energy rom. H is hspda I think. Disable that also to check the affect on battery life.

Yeah, somethings up with it. To compare I took mine off the charger 7 hours ago sent 4 emails, used gps 3 times, browsed several sites for a total of about 45 min., made two short calls and I'm down to 75%. Thats all on edge.

Definitely sounds like a more serious issue.
I have 3G and HSDPA on all the time and still get through about 25% battery during most of the day, with a few texts, a call or two and some email/browsing etc.
I also make sure that I close any other applications that I've finished with to calm memory and processor usage down.
Thanks. Yes, it sounds like an issue. Wish i had you guys battery. I can litteratly see the % go down, if i go to settings, press something go back and so on. Bought a new 1350mah battery on ebay, hope that would do the trick. Its bugging me sooo much, breaking swet becouse of it, lol.
Did you also turn off bluetooth and wireless? I get three days out of mine without 3G.
Yeah, all that stuff is off. Only edge is on. The battery must be faulty, thats the only thing i can think of. Example, made a phonecall now for 5 minutes, it dropped 10% on the battery.

Try these following steps to recalibrate your battery.
1) Turn off the phone.
2) Let it charge overnight and don't unplug it.
3) In the morning, use the phone till it is down to 10% (Don't go lower than this number).
4) Turn off the phone, and do a full-charge again.
Repeat these steps 2 ~ 3 times and see if the battery gets better. Sometimes, it is not that the battery is bad, but merely the calibration is a little off. Always try to charge your phone when it is turned off, it keeps the accuracy of the battery lasting much longer without having to do a full-discharge.
Let us know how this works out for you.

PoisonWolf mate these techniques used to work on old battery but the new lithium batteries don't need these manual calibration process...

I beg to disagree. What I am saying is, sometimes, the battery in itself can hold the right amount of charge, but the onboard motherboard thinks it is not holding the right amount of charge. The full-discharge helps correct this issue.
If you don't believe me, keep charging your TouchHD whenever it is at 80 ~ 90% for a couple of months and you'll notice a "drop" in how fast your battery drains.

I definitely agree with this.
My Touch HD kept dying after a couple of hours, even when charging it over night. So I turned my phone off and charged it over night with a wall charger (instead of USB) and then it lasted for 48 hours with the same usage.
I think the battery tells the phone it is fully charged even when it is not. So like you say, it just needs recalibrating.

Shouldnt it say like 0%, since no apps are running?

That % shows the amount of free RAM your device has, not how much power it is consuming..
Not sure why you are having this problem, I use BB Connect all day at work and am on the phone for several hours, I don't have 3G in the US but notice if I have WiFI on it drains the battery fast.
Are you sure you don't have a program running that is always looking for the internet? You could try HD tweaks and turn off the internet all together and see if that helps.

Anyone else encountered this or know how to deal with it (before I contact Google)

It takes power to turn the phone on. 15% might be a little much but it is not unlikely.

Battery life has actually been decent, I think I'm getting better usage than my old HTC Desire Z with extended battery. I'm not a heavy user, though I have been using it for music at work.

It takes a huge amount of battery power to start the phone from complete off, this also skews the first reading of the battery voltage as it will be lowered by the draw of power to start the phone so the indicator will read lower than it's true capacity.
The best solution is just put your phone in airplane mode at night, and turn airplane mode off in the morning, this is more power efficient than shutting the phone down using "power off", and you shouldn't see any battery drain apart from a percent or so doing this.

You can tell you guys never turn your phones off Starting up should have no battery drain - never been an issue on any of my previous phones and PDAs (last one also being Android).
I rang Google and they had never seen it before but recommended draining then fully charging the battery.
Friday night I made sur it was fully charged before unplugging and shutting down - next morning on turning on - 99% - result. Saturday/Sunday the same (note SAturday i fully drained then recharged the battery). This morning boots up with just 82%.
Looks like either it can't work out when it's fully charged, else there's some disharge mechanism in place to protect the battery and that's causing me issues.
It probably wasn't really at 100% even it was reporting as such. The reporting is broken. So when you rebooted you saw the real battery level.

I was just about to start a thread on this and then saw this thread here. So I'll ask here. I travel overseas a lot. So while I am on the plane I plug the phone in while off to charge it. I hit the power button occasionally to check the charge and when it shows "Full" I unplug it and throw it in my bag.
2 days later, I come back to the US and turn the phone on and the battery is usually below 50% even though it stated it was fully charged when I unplugged it.
So how does the battery drain if the phone is off?
I just sent my first Nexus 4 in for RMA on this very issue (if left for long enough it would just fully discharge), got the replacement on Friday, did a charge cycle, charged the phone fully up whilst off, took it off the charger (the official Nexus charger btw), and let it sit for the last day, just turned it on, and it's at 60%.... W T F !!!
This is sooo totally bizarre! I can only assume that this is common to most Nexus 4 (what are the odds of me getting two bad ones - direct from Google - with the exact the same issue?), and that people just aren't noticing, as most people don't leave their phones off after fully charging, and thus just never notice, as the battery behaves perfectly normally under usual use.
I would gratefully appreciate it if people could put this to the test, so I know whether or not to RMA the second device or not....

Are you using a custom rom, maybe its only sleeping.
Can't speak for the OP - but for me, no on both devices - totally stock. The latest one, box fresh on Friday! Also, the phone is most definitely OFF, and not just sleeping, ie, I press the power button & choose the "power off" option from the pop up. Unfortunately there's no way to really test this, by pulling the battery...

Why not just leave it charging when it's off..

Nah - I tested it multiple times on my first phone. One time I left it for over two days and the battery went from "reporting 100%" to being under 10% whilst turned off!! Also on all the charges - I deliberately would leave the phone on the charger for multiple hours, even after it was reporting 100%, as I had the same suspicion. Often I'd leave it to charge overnight...
I have never had this issue with any other phone, or with my Nexus 7 (which I have subsequently tested in this respect, and it is perfectly capable of holding a charge whilst off)

It's not so much that it's a practical issue, it's more that I'm worried that it might indicative of a larger hardware based defect, and I'm not happy spending my hard earned cash on faulty goods.
If it's a very common complaint/fault then I won't bother to RMA the second one, but if I'm just ridiculously unlucky, and very few people are experiencing this totally weird behaviour, then I'll take my chances on a third...
Also, I don't think it's too much to ask to be able to turn my phone off to prevent it from losing any more charge. I can think of a plethora of scenarios where this would be extremely useful...
I'm now convinced of three things.
1. Android 4.2.1 can not properly read the battery state
2. Shutting down the phone does NOT do that, but rather puts it in to a hybernate mode that still requires battery charge
3. There is a fundamental design flaw in the phone that part causes this.
Most mornings I find my previously shut down at 100% charged phone at only 80-85%, though occasionally it is as high as 97-99, but not often.
Oh and my ROM is stock, my phone is not rooted.

I agree on all counts apart from the first, as my nexus 7 and my Mum's Nexus 10 behave totally normally in this respect, both on 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 (both stock/unrooted, although the Nexus 7 was rooted/bl-unlocked for a time).
Also, I don't believe it's a miss reading of the battery state, as I often leave the device charging for multiple hours after it reports 100%, by which point it simply must be fully charged. What's more - if you leave the device off for long enough it will fully discharge! The craziest thing is that the phone's battery seems to drain quicker when it's 'turned off", than when it's powered on and sleeping. Seriously WTF.
It must be something to do with either the LG hardware, or LG specific code in the Google ROM. Obviously the phone is incapable of properly shutting down, which is pretty crappy for a so called "flagship" device. As someone who likes to have full control of their device, I find it more than a wee bit irksome, that I don't have the ability to completely shutdown my phone! This is also where the irremovable battery is annoying, because there's no way to test whether it's a hardware or software issue, although I guess I could try a custom ROM and see if it still happens.... however I don't really wanna root & rom if I'm going to RMA it....
I'm really interested to know how many other people have this defect and don't even realise it, because their phone is either in use or charging! I find it hard to believe that I could be unlucky enough to have got two uniquely defective devices in a row...
I'd really appreciate it if people could check their devices for this issue, both on stock and custom ROMs, see if we can work out whether it's HW or SW related...

You could try powering it off with the bootloader. After you power off normally, hold power and volume down, when the bootloader menu comes on use volume keys to select power off and power button to confirm.
I'm hard pressed to believe the battery in my device would fully discharge if left off, when the phone arrived the battery wasn't dead, I got about three hours of solid tinkering before it died.

That's a good point. Mine came out of the box at about 80%.... hmmm. It could be that once it's first turned on it won't turn off again... this is such an odd issue! I shall try powering off from the bootloader next time, I'd still love to hear if other people's phones exhibit this anomaly though...
I'm aware that it's hard to believe issue, but there's only one way to find out...
I'm also very curious to know if loading a custom rom might solve it. I'm far less concerned if it's a software issue, I just don't want to have spend £250 on defective hardware.
I'm 100% stock, no Custom ROM nor kernal (kernel?) and my phone WILL discharge if left unplugged and "off". Happens every time I come back from overseas. Fully charge it up on the plane (even left the phone on but in airplane mode to 100% thinking that it was a misread of the battery level when the phone was "off") and still the same issue... turn it on a few days later and the charge is down to 75% or so....
I thought I was losing it... but I'm not the only one...

Ha - me too! With the first one, I actually went into a weird sort of denial, where I kept convincing myself that I must of got it wrong, it just seemed so absurd! Eventually I put it to the test (multiple times) and realized that my memory wasn't as bad as I'd been trying to persuade myself and the phone was in fact discharging when "off".
Anyone else?
Just got the update to 4.2.2 and have got my fingers firmly crossed that it's now a squished bug... although somehow I think it's more likely an LG/hardware issue...
What you could try to do it charge the battery to 100%, hold the power button for 10 seconds until it fully shuts itself off. Leave it overnight and see the battery level is at the next day.

I've had it for less then a year and the battery life had been great. But starting over the last few days the battery is horrible. After a full charge over night my battery was down to 50% today. And that's with hardly any use. I used it for maybe an hour total and at least half of that time was just reading reddit.
I haven't changed any settings recently. This is all stock, no mods, not even rooted.
The battery usage right new says it's been 13 hours, and it's down to 48% and Android os accounts for 27% Followed by screen at 18% and WiFi at 9%. Those are the top 3 showing for battery usage.
Any suggestions as to what's going wrong it how to diagnose be fix it?

Either your battery is bad or you have a stray process running somewhere.You might want to factory reset it, possibly even reflash your image.

Would the battery go bad that fast though? In my experience batteries usually gradually get worse. This went from losing a few percent of power to losing half power in the span of a day.
I might try the factory reset - just have to make sure everything is backed up. This tablet isn't rooted so i dont have titanium backup on it.

Doubtful it's the battery... my money is on a rogue app!!!

It's possible, that as the previous poster suggests, some rogue app is 'eating' your battery.
The biggest consumer of power is the screen, so ensure you haven't got it set it maximum brightness... and ensure auto-brightness is enabled in settings.
Another thing you can check, is your WiFi setting... on my Nexus 7, I have 'Keep WiFi on during Sleep' set to 'Never'... it's not a setting that is easily found - it's buried in SETTINGS>>Wi-Fi>>overflow MENU (three dots, top right hand corner)>>ADVANCED>>Keep WiFi on during Sleep.
It also might be worth checking if the SYNCING of your respective accounts (Google, Twitter, etc.), haven't been inadvertently changed. Particularly the SYNCING of your Google account... which by default, SYNCs a lot of stuff and frequently. This will keep WiFi awake, and may cause battery drain. Go to SETTINGS>>ACCOUNTS>>GOOGLE and disable what you don't need to be SYNCed.

It's unfortunate that your Nexus 7 isn't rooted, because there are a couple of excellent diagnostic apps available (GSam Battery Monitor and BetterBatteryStats) which provide more granular and finely detailed battery info/history than the standard Android battery info screen... and are useful for tracking down problematic apps that might be keeping the device unnecessarily awake ('wakelocks', etc.).
However, due to changes in Android 4.4 (KitKat), these apps now require root access to read and report battery stats info.
If your Nexus 7 is running any version of Android BEFORE 4.4 KitKat (and some haven't updated yet), then you don't need root to run these diagnostic apps.

It's sometimes the case, with Android, that there will be occasional peculiarities with battery performance... and in my experience, it's almost always the case, it's due to something the user did... some app or widget installed. I'm currently experiencing similar battery issues on my Samsung Galaxy S3, but having run GSam for a couple of days, I think I have the culprit identified. If I can't eliminate the problem, I'll uninstall the app.

Gedblake, thanks for the suggestions. For whatever reason, today it seems to be back to normal. The only thing i did last night was drain the batter to around 10%, turn it off, and let it charge while turned off.
Turned it back on today,used it for about 15 minutes or so playing a game. And now just about 5 hours after turning it on, it's down to 92% which is what I'd normally expect.
I'll try some of your suggestions if the problem re-occurs.
I noticed that my N7 (2012) has been draining quite a bit lately. Watching the battery stats, it seems Google Wallet was eating up some major battery. It was 2nd at 29% with the screen number 1 at 38%.
Not sure what the heck Google Wallet was doing, but I killed it and things seem to have stabilized.

For years I've had the same routine. I use my Nexus 7 all day for work, mostly notes. In between I play, (youtube, E-reader, etc). Every night I plug it in to charge and in the morning it's fully charged and ready to go. On Tues, I received the OTA update for 4.4.4 I noticed this morning that after a full night's charge, the battery only reports 50% charge. Is this the beginning of the end? What steps should I take from here? I recently bricked by GS3 so I depend on this thing now more then ever, any help would be sooooo appreciated.

I'd just restart it and let it charge again. I've updated mine a while ago and haven't had any issues.

I'm on a custom 4.4.2 ROM and I have had intermittent draining behavior as well.
Sync is off, location services off, I turn off wifi manually, and I always clear recents before I have my tablet sleep. I have greenify installed. I'm using better battery stats.
My issue seems to be similar, but I am also having battery percentages jump around.
Earlier today it went from 26% to 43% in the middle of me using it. Without charging. It frequently does this, both lesser and greater values reported. I've had my tablet shut down in the 30% range. I've had it shut itself off on 4%. I've had it drain all the way to 0% and then some before shutting down. I've had it turn itself off and when I power it back on the tablet is thinking it is at 25% or more.
I haven't been getting much more than an hour of screen time with my tablet lately. Clean fresh install of my ROM.
But I've never, until the last couple of days, had it go from a small percent to a large percent active during use. I took screenshots. I even started a thread to talk about it but nobody has responded yet.
Has anyone else ran into this behavior? Is it a sign of a soon to be dead battery?
mine got almost 30% drained on idle, airplane mode, screen off for 3 hours (tested on stock rom 4.4.3. GApps + Swiftkey + BBM + Facebook only)
my nexus 7 never lasted a day, only half a day max.
trying GSam app, hope it helps in knowing what's eating up batteries.

Recently, since about a week, i've been experiencing sudden random reboots. Often when starting apps (especially the Camera is a real culprit here, but also Google Photo's). When entering pin-code all seems fine again. and sometimes i can just use the camera like normal. But sometimes it keeps rebooting and the only way to stop it is to quickly turn off battery saver (seems a solution till now for a while)
Searching online didn't really help much, as i found a few people with the same issue end of march also on Oreo update, but no solution yet.
Also the battery indicator seems off. it often drains reaallly slow (85% at the end of the day) and then at a random percentage (like 60%) just turns off. When turning it back on it only has 3%. So it could be battery related.
What i tried:
- Let the phone drain completely, then recharge to 100% overnight.
- Remove all apps installed in the last few weeks + all unnecessary apps.
I don't want to do a factory reset, because our IT then has to set up the Authenticator again which is a pain for them (and i already had them do that a few weeks ago :angel: )
Any tips on how to troubleshoot some more or more people seeing this behaviour?

That sounds kind of like a battery that's failing.
What's the age of the phone? And did you primarily use Huawei's supercharge brick or other methods / chargers? (I ask the second, because charging at 4.5A can be bad for the battery on a regular basis.)
I'd load up something like Ampere and watch the charge / discharge rates. I'd expect a normal discharge rate around 150-350mA, but it depends a lot on what you're doing. (GPS and moderate graphics will keep it up in the 800mA-1A discharge range, the rear camera with just the viewfinder seems to push 1.2A current draw.)
I'll give Ampère a try. I used both chargers but the phone is just over a year old. Nothing to warrant a bad battery already.
Besides that, recent discoveries lead to believe slow charging could actually cause more heat and be worse for battery. But again: it's a bit soon for something like that I think. I'll try Ampère first. But i doubt that's the issue.
I've noticed my phone gets toasty when fast charging. If it's hooked up to any charger other than Huawei's, it tends to stay cool.
And it happened again. More then 50 percent and then it turned off and only had 3 percent

That's what it looks like to me.
Fortunately, the batteries aren't that expensive to find (Google popped up a bunch for <$20), and actually getting in isn't too difficult either, if you want to swap it yourself.
Just to close this topic properly:
The issue got worse, but i was on holiday. Ordered a new battery with a toolkit to replace the battery for 30 euro's.
When i got back from my holiday i notices the battery had already pushed the screen loose. So getting the screen off was easy. Swapped the battery in just 5 minutes and now everything is working great again. The screen used to have some bright spots and those are gone aswell. I guess it was a giveaway of things to come.
