Hi jaba0x,
If you found a solution, I would be very interested. I have an HTC One S.
Anyconnect doesn't seem to work.
Thanks,

Hi
Does anyone know whether Nexus One support connecting to PPTP VPN or not?
Thanks.
Yes it supports PPTP.
Yup, in Settings you'll find VPN config. It supports PPTP and various flavours of IPSec, along with Cisco VPN concentrators with Cyanogen's Bacon mod.
It would be interesting if someone got OpenVPN working with Android. I know there's a port for the client but it only works the Community edition and not the Access Server

in principle OpenVPN IS already working on Android.
Check-out TunnelDroid (search for the app in the market, in the market description is a link to the related websites).
It apparantely works on the DROID etc... but what we need for Nexus One is the right tun.ko module for the kernel.... the DROID tun.ko doesn't work on Nexus....
...
I have openvpn working on my n1. Openvpn is embedded into Cyanogen mod already. Download tunneldroid from the market and follow the instructions in the readme file found on the tunneldroid website.
Hi guys,
I m trying to make a VPN tunnel to make it possible to work in our server with my Android 2.1 HTC Desire phone.
Can this be done with the standard installed VPN configuration tool that comes with Android 2.1? (I have no rooted phone, just the original 2.1 that came with the Desire) If so, how can I set this up correctly?
Our IT-engineer asked my if it is possible to import a so called .PCF certificate on the phone because this is needed according to him. How can a certificate like this one installed on the phone?
Thanks in advance!
Hello,
I'd like to know if it possible to add an exchange account, using a self-signed certificate.
In the stock android 2.1 and 2.2, it was possible to check the box "accept all certificate" (including the self-signed), but with the HTC tool, it was not possible.
Did HTC change this in Froyo ?
Could anyone try to add an exchange account, and tell me which option are presnt ?
Thank you so much,
Splitsch

Yes, it'd be nice if you wrote some guide, so I could incorporate it into a general wifi-N topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1019371 - with giving you credits, of course
Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500, firmware 4.3
I ran tcpdump. In the dump, I see many HTTP requests on port 80. One request per minute for a long time.
request:
Code:
GET /generate_204 HTTP/1.1\r\n
User-Agent: Dalvik/1.6.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.3; GT-I9500 Build/JSS15J)\r\n
Host: clients3.google.com\r\n
answer:
Code:
HTTP/1.1 204 No Content\r\n
Server: GFE/2.0\r\n
What application can be traced who is sending requests? OS Monitor can not see connections http://clients3.google.com/generate_204
Android Network Portal detection via clients3.google.com/generate_204
It is the Android using the Network Portal detection by querying the URL clients3[dot]google[dot]com /generate_204

This is not speculation, see http: //androidxref.com/4.4_r1/xref/frameworks/base/core/java/android/net/CaptivePortalTracker.java#372 (I'm not allowed to post links yet).

Ok. I see in CaptivePortalTracker.java and ConnectivityService.java:
Code:
mUrl = "http://" + server.getHostAddress() + "/generate_204";
...
return "http://" + server + "/generate_204";
Question: how to identify of the connections initiator without source code analysis?
