Just got a update. It has added brightness setting in notification bar. Can't yet see any other changes. But if anyone has a list of updated features or improvements please post.
Is this not yet another new update posted weeks ago and repeatedly reposted.

I got it yesterday to. I noticed the cell standby reporting in the battery statistics was fixed. The are quick ringer settings in the power menu now, or at least I never noticed them before. Also, was there always a swipe option in the keyboard options? There is now.

Yep, that's been there for a while. In "Samsung keyboard settings", switch on "Predictive text" and then "Keyboard swipe".
The one that got me was when I turned OFF that predictive text (because it was screwing up me trying to log into CoPilotLive) and the following morning the phone had switched itself to Handwriting mode.

The firmware with brightness in quick panel is like a month old now
It is funny that none of these "I got new update" threads list the new build number

Ten Million JB has been released posts due soon .

Sorry for the repost then. Didn't realise it has been discussed. Don't get on here much.
Same here, don't get on here often. My thought is instead of complaining about a post in a "general" forum, how about sharing the link to the previous thread first? This helps most of us that don't have time to read this forum everyday.

I think what everyone have to realize and remember is the stuff that they are doing, there will be thousands before him/her. So don't get hyped for everything. It is also always someone will post before you do. I will search before I post something all the time.
any idea about what firmware is the best? I need an unbranded one so I can receive all the updates as they come out xD
edit: got the same update
build is IMM76D.I9300UBBLG2

This has been brought up numerous times already.
If you're running HKTW 2.3.4 and are using the custom build.prop, you will get that same notification. The problem is, no one can download it.
the BIG question is...
someone will tap the "later " button when it's really out??

Do us all a favour and use search next time before posting. This is plastered all over the forums already. It's not like it's only been posted once before. It's been posted many times!

Today it appears a huge update is rolling out bringing all sorts of improvements, changes and tweaks.
Following the update, users will enjoy the possibility to shrink the keyboard and dial-pad for one hand use, a dedicated torch widget for the homescreen, as well as a virtual keyboard spread on five rows now.
Samsung has also added some new brightness setting so you don’t have to adjust the brightness on the whole device and you can now select different brightness settings for certain apps like the browser and other apps.
The update will also offer users the possibility to unlock the device through moving their thumb only a bit, while benefitting from more information being displayed on the unlocking screen.
The update is being pushed out over the air and should arrive on unlocked devices first (in Europe/Asia)
What is the Source?
androidcommunity.com
Dont know much about the update, only what i have read. Sounds interesting thou. Hope its not a softening for an ICS delay.

The update should be available now for unlocked Notes and can be downloaded over-the-air. Those who have network-branded devices may have to wait until your service provider gets round to releasing the patch.
This is for csc DBT (Germany) over the air. It is LA4 and has been out for over a week as reported by zkyevolved and dr ketan.
Dr. ketan has a great thread under the development section which lists all the updated firmwares.

that update was released 27.12.2011.. - you guys are one month to late..
OK I did a pretty thorough search through the forums and I feel like this surely must have been asked somewhere, but I'm just not finding it, so feel free to merge if I've just missed it...
I've finally gotten to the point where I'm ready to make the jump to CM7 on my Epic, but I don't think I can live without SWYPE... has anybody gotten it to work? If so, can you provide instructions?
Thanks!

That's the only answer I had run across but they were all dated a few months ago so I wasn't sure if it'd still work (I know in the early days Swype "Beta" was sketchy at best and expired frequently).
Sorry for the noobness, I've been out of the scene since before CM development even began on the Epic, so feeling kinda rusty!
Thanks!
Been using Swype beta on CM9 for a month or so. I personally love it. Wrote this post with Swype with no mistakes.
Also the voice recognition works as well. As this was written by talking into the phone.

Oh hell yeah can't wait to get the Multi window feature.
.
.
Well, if they're testing it is because it's possible. I've seen the old SGS1 doing SO much even with that severe lack of memory, i reckon 1Gb is more than enough to do everything if well coded. I'm guessing it's just easier for samsung to add more ram than waste time in optimized coding and probably was a bit overboard hence the actual memory "problems". That and poor ram managing, my phone just seems to kill any process if the screen goes off after a while (it's a pain to download any game's extra data after installing, phone just cuts it off)
Anyway, this is wonderful news, thank you. Can't wait

You are on the latest build. There are tons of threads on this. Whether there is actual lag or not is inconclusive. How laggy you feel your phone is depends on what you had before and what you consider slow response. Different factors are effecting different people. Do some research on the other threads and see if it fixes your issues.

Mmm good tip. Hadn't messed with those yet. I actually prefer moving them to .5 though...personal preference. Gives the nice animations, but quick and fluid.
Also, reboot your phone from time to time. Every once in a while my phone seems to get bogged down. I use the trickster mod settings so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but a simple reboot can really do some help if you feel it getting sluggish
