Rage of Bahamut - Desire Themes and Apps

I've been playing it for a few days, it is a great card based turn game that's fun and easy to get.
If you use the referral code xfv24956 after the tutorial it will give you a bonus card and extra money to start of right.

Look what came in from FedEx today :)

The wife got 2 Free Kin TWOm's from verizon today I didnt even know she had placed an order for them. We both had upgrades available & she wanted a Solid Feature phone without having to spend money on a data plan.
Looking at the phone I really like it. Great Camera, Video & I really enjoy the Zune built it. I do have a couple of cons about the phone which is there are no hacks for it, Cant expand the memory & doesnt play games but for now I can look past that.
I cant share photo's at all till i reach 8 posts both phones have switchable OS's

Why does everyone complain about no expandable memory? What the hell does the average person need more than 8 gigs for? Alas you can play javascript games view the thread in kin two software development.
I have alot of music that I wanted to put on the phone.
Congrats on your new Kin!
What did you mean when you said they have switchable OS's?
i meant both are switchable between the TWO kin OS's. Original & the M version. Not switchable as in a different OS installed. I wish there was a way but at the moment there isnt.
I really do love the phone but the lack of being able to install a second OS & play games really hurts this for me.

Well, how many feature phones do you know that can install a second OS? Much less have the power to run any other OS like WP7 or Android? There's only one other I know of and that's the HTC feature phone from AT&T. As for music, an average song is only 3-5 MB. 8GB of storage gives you.. lets see about 2,000 songs. That's quite a lot of music for one person to listen to.
well the good thing is, is that the phone does support AAC format so that does help cut down the MB of the song.
File Formats Supported, Audio: Windows Media Audio (.wma), MP3 (.mp3), Advanced audio coding (AAC) files such as .mp4, .m4a, .m4b, and .movfiles.
Hello all, just joined today as I ordered a KIN TWOm yesterday. It might be here on Friday. I like many of you have wanted a feature/smartphone but did not want to shell out the $$ for a data plan. I am almost always near a wifi and that will be fine for me.
Regards
Sean
I actually sold both Kins & me and the wife moved to Smartphones with data plans. I hope you enjoy the phone I just couldnt find what I was looking for with the Kin TWOm

Q - Incredible App Idea - What Now?

Hello All,
I have an idea for an excellent app. It is an app that I see having the ability to generate mass amounts of money. I have been waiting for an app of its type to come out for a long while now, but have not seen any. I do not have the skills to create said app, and want to know what my best bet to get in with a dev team would be? Anyone know how to get in touch with the Big Boys of the app world to get this thing going? It is not a question of if, I KNOW this app will be successful. Please help and thank you for taking the time to respond.
- Ron
learn how to code is my best advice
Just find a developer here at xda or on the market that has an app that looks similar to or at least looks like they have the ability to produce something like what you would want, then send them an email.
Sent from my MIUI SCH-i500
Give us a hint on the type of app: theme-based, music, RSS reader, e-mail, SMS, Global Thermonuclear War for Android
I'm sure a lot of developers are busy and would just like to see if your app falls in their skill set/schedule.
Thanks,
Roots
The low down...
Well first off thank you all for your replies.
The app is a game though. The best part about it is the potential to touch many people with its genre and simplicity. Its a sports game that has no other game in its category, but that literally everyone on the planet knows of it. It would have the ability to be a head to head type game, online. It would also have a offline single player side, that would allow the user to earn "achievements" and enhance their player. Think of it as Homerun Battle 3D, but for a different sport. I really do see it as a more broad range of money earning potential because of the sport and how much of it kinda relies on the in game character. So upgrades like clothing, hair, jewelry, etc... would be more sought after, just to be different, when facing other players.
Which is why I think World Championship (Name Here)... has the potential to get mass amounts of attention. Im thinking Cross platform love. Maybe cross console...
I honestly wish I had the ability to do this, but starting from the ground up, it is kind of a big project for someone in my shoes. I have everything written out for the app... just looking for some execution.
Probably you already know - but I'll mention them here anyway:
a) In startups, people get a share out of the company [as they spend a lot of time risking that nothing will come out of it].
Maybe you are extremely convinced that you'll strike gold, but is still to be seen how the market will react. Good luck anyway
b) You need to hire some lawyers to protect your IP, before signing NDA agreements.
c) Write a business plan, start pitching, get the money from investors to start it up.
Then hire a good company to create it for you and invest in ads, etc.
You need all these, as if you do it wrong, then the game won't take off. But if somebody with more resources [which can afford very good devs] sees the opportunity, they might create a better version.
Well ask any developers here or if u know java try learning android
Well, I'm out! LOL I don't do games.
However, good luck to you!!
If you want to develop a game, be informed that aside from Java you also need to learn some C++ and OpenGL so it can take serious amount of time.

Yes. I like the way to think. I have been doing most of the things said here. Contacted a group from a newly popular app in the store and got some "feedback". Not on the app itself but what it would take to get them to even sneeze at it. Blah... So say I had someone with money to back this... I have been looking around and it appears its impossible to patent or even block people from copying the app down to the most minute of changes making them different. Apparently its easier to get something done about it in the App Store but cheaper and easier to get an app in the Android Market. Before anyone snaps, I hate apple (I use to love them but after the 3gs/Ipad came out and I realized it would be the same incremental updates forcing me to buy new every year just like the Iphone/3g, I have hated them sense).
I just wish I could get EA or someone big like that to even respond to my emails. There really arent that many sports apps worth a damn. This one would open the whole thing up. Actually using multi-touch to do more than button spam. A game where being ranked against the world wouldn't depend on how often you play but, actual win/skill pct. I havent even played the game an I already love it hah.
WTF DO I DO!?!?!
Going after EA or a UbiSoft is going to be damn near impossible. You have to have "name" power (think Tiger Woods or Peyton Manning name power).
They PAY people $70,000 a year to come up with game ideas and then spend millions and 5 years developing it..can you say "Diablo 3"? LOL
Odds are your app is a "been there, done that" concept or is not a viable market opportunity in their eyes.
Now, don't get me wrong; I'm just expressing my opinion. I hope you can market your idea and make millions! I'm trying to do that with every month, every day and every line of code I write.

[Q] unauthorized purchases

is amazon's solution to unauthorized purchases by kids, etc. to put a password on wifi?
What do you want them to do?
They are your kids.
Wifi
If that is their solutions, then it doesn't seem very good since the Fire to be useful normally needs WEB access. Our kids like to visit sites with Flash videos and games.
Just go buy a $10 prepaid visa card from Wal-Mart and use that on the account or buy one of those dog shock collars to put on the kids and if they make a purchase without permission give them a 2 second shock eventually they will learn.

That is a great app idea - if one of the kids hits the buy button a signal is sent to the dog collar - ZAP!
One Click
You can remove your credit card from one click shopping, but then it becomes a pain in the neck to even get the "free" apps.

GREAT IDEA!! lol
As a parent myself OP, i would tell you not to expect many adult responses here. No offense to the members, but most of the people here are far from caring about parenting responsibilities. Heck, most of them are still almost "children" themselves.
As a parent, who just gave his 10yr old a Fire for Christmas, I will say I left WiFi on, went through it with her for a while to make sure she understood how to look for stuff, then I connected a pre-paid payment card to my one-click account. Sort of like giving an allowance....
Now, I do think they need to give parents the ability to create sub-accounts (on the computer only) where I can give my daughter access to her own account, on her Fire, and I can simply click a "filter adult content" or choose a "rating" like PG13. While I am not a big fan of censorship at the same time the problem is Amazon gives equal access to adult porn type stuff as childrens book. So if she inadvertently is doing a search for "big black socks" and accidentally types "*****" then Houston we have a problem.
That is the thing Amazon needs to do to help the situation. Make it where, even as an adult, if I don't want to have adult content come up in the search results of my device, give me that choice. Right now as it is their solution is an afterthought and unacceptable at best. I don't care if she has access to WiFi, I care about the content and ability to order. Using a prepaid card is a workaround, not a solution. I am a real parent who doesn't just hand my kid off to a device. Hell, my wife hasn't worked for over 10 years, a decision we made a long time ago, to stay home with the kids so we were the ones raising them, not some nanny. But Amazon has not taken responsibility yet on the Kindle as a family device.
1. Download ZDbox from the appstore
2. Set up applock pin
3. Pick which apps to protect
4. YOU SHALL NOT PASS!

Short of turning off WiFi, there is little Amazon can do that would make many happy. With WiFi on, there is no real content control on the Silk Browser assuming you even use that. And any type of control that you might think they should make would be unacceptable to other parents and a no win solution.
Fact is, an Internet accessible device is not a good idea of a child who is not under observation but that depends a great deal on how the child deals with responsiblities, following directions and rules.
I know that some adults that can't be trusted with an Internet device let alone children.
As for limiting damage for unauthorized purchases... these is already a solution for that (Pre-Paid Credit Card) which puts the control in your hands without involving Amazon in the process.
Amazon is in a no win situation when it comes to children as what they should or should not be allowed to do or access, is a Parent thing, not an Amazon thing.

Much better than the alternative, imho.
Although I'm kind of curious what ten year old would be searching for "big" socks, our even boring black ones...never mind not know what is likely to show up with a weird search like that.
Damn you Swype!

For the marketplace all they have to do is categorize all the adult content as adult content, and then provide a setting in the dashboard to allow or not allow adult content in search results.
I am not asking for a web browser filter. I can provide that through my router, which is only good while at home but that's where it will stay anyways.....
Already ahead of you on the pre-paid card option but that's a workaround. I am the account holder. I should be able to manage my devices if they can charge to my account.
I think it's inexcusable that device makers and programmers of all types continually fail to consider and accomodate multiple user scenarios, but I find it even worse that power users make excuses for them. I find it an endless source of frustration when I accidentally post as my brother on the HP TouchPad because logging out and in is such a pain. Rather than considering having *TWO* complete WebOS installs in addition to CyanogenMod7 Android 2.3 Gingerbread, I should have a simple user account dialog.
Remember when 2KGames had to perform damage control after one of their forum employees asked a forum employee why his brother thought he could play Bioshock for free? All the user had asked was why he needed to use two of a limited number of total activations on the same machine for two different Windows users to play. It's all a matter of perspective: They would not have dared to ask a console user that question if a family were sharing the console. Now, instead of getting up-in-arms like the PC gamers who were being treated like second-class gamers, we make excuses for Amazon and act like our workarounds are primary solutions just because they exist. Not everyone has a pre-paid card or temporary card (I don't) and not everyone is willing to give up the system-wide convenience of having their information on file just so that a specific device can function as they desire.
I installed the Google Market on a coworker's Kindle Fire and user my Google account to test and load a few apps. When I was done, I tried to delete my Google Account and it said I needed to go to Settings>Device>Erase All User Data. @!$!#!

I use the nook app almost exclusively. The reason is my first device was the original Nook (then it died after warranty), so I have a lot of content through them. I also like the Free Friday selections - they put a normally paid book up for free for one day only. I've discovered tons of good books that I normally wouldn't buy (I hate to spend money on books when I don't know if it's worth the money or not).
I also use the Kindle app for the small amount of content I have on there.
I also use the Overdrive combined with SLCounty Library apps for all of my library reading. The bad thing about this is that too often I have to wait for a particular book to become available. On the other hand I have read some gems that I wouldn't have bought otherwise.
Personally I like the reading experience of Nook. It seems that I'm more able to forget the device and lose myself in the book more than the other apps. YMMV.
I rooted primarily because I wanted to get the notification bar combined with the navigation bar - tablet UI. It feels like I have more screen real-estate. That, plus I like the custom backups better than the Google backup, I've already used it to re-install apps (I did it as a test).
I will probably be adding a custom ROM in the next day or two.
I doubt you're going to be able to get your friends store credit, they shouldn't have elected to associate the device with their account when it was purchased. Oh well, live and learn.
Thanks a lot.
Actually I have a lot if books lying around in epub format , which I used to read on my iPod a while back , is that compatible with nexus as well and van they be read with nook app.
