battery not connected? - Eee Pad Transformer General

I think my battery has disconnected itself somehow. Has anyone ever come across this ?
Here's the facts
Battery died to 0% instantly overnight
Battery status is unknown in the settings
Battery will not charge at all after being plugged in for a few days
Turns off instantly when I remove the power
Will not run from the dock at all
If dock is connected and power lead via dock it won't boot (I think this is the case from memory anyway)
To me this all points to a disconnected batter rather than a dead battery. Thoughts?
Planning to take it apart tomorrow to see if I can fix it but any insights before are very welcome
Thanks

battery draining when I charge phone. Alerts me to change it

For some reason, every couple of days when I plug my phone in to charge the battery overnight I end up getting an alert (about 4 in the morning!) to change the battery because mine is dead, along with the back up battery, and then the phone shuts off within about a minute. Luckily I have another battery, which I then put in, and then put the dead battery in the "back up battery" slot in the cradle to charge, which it does. I don't know why this happens but it is very frustrating. I am afraid of this happening on a trip out of town where I won't have the ability to use my cradle, unless I bring it which is a big hassle. I don't know what to do.
This IS vexing. By the fact that it charges the extra battery - we know that the power transformer is connected. Since the device does not seem to be charging (possibly even discharging?) - it seems that either the connector on the charging base or the connector on the device itself are bad.
Have you used the power dongle connected to the power transformer to attempt to charge the device? This would tell you if it's the charging base or the device. If it charges outside of the base, it's the base - if not, it's the device.
Best of luck!
How are you charging the battery - from mains power or through the USB?
I had a situation where I was only using USB power to the cradle and although this worked most of the time, I noticed that if the battery was already low (<50%) then the battery seemed to discharge rather than charge.
So the trigger in your case may be the amount of charge left in the battery before you start re-charging it.
I think other people have reported similar discharging situations, so some other ideas might emerge from a search of other threads.

[Q] Help! Battery won't charge

Need some feedback, any one has had a bad battery yet? I had mine charging up to 85% yesterday and went back to bed thinking that today (sunday) morning will wake up and do some early stuff but I woke up late and had a dead Streak next to me. I left it charging overnight (I know it was only 15%) but you never know when you're going to need that extra juice. I tried turning it on, no luck, took the batt out tried turning on with only the mains plugged in, no go, I had blinking LEDS for a short moment then it turned off and that was it until I decided to jump start the phone (I don't recommend doing this to no one) with a BB Bold Battery (3.7V 1500mAh) all of a sudden I get the battery with exclamation mark, like I had a dead battery, I've only had the device for 2 weeks, also this is a Beta Unit I bought "AS-IS" but the problem was a simple restore and not the battery. now I manage to charge the battery in a raw way, just hot wired into a 4.2v DC. now the big question...
I'm at 40% battery it is draining very little, I would even say it is under normal operation, but i can't tell I don't have a SIM on it ATM. but I checked on "spare parts" to see status of the battery and it all seems ok but the bit that says BATTERY STATUS: discharging
No matter where I plugged the wire it is discharging, the phone is being detected on windows/mac any computer I plug, the phone does detect where the source is coming it says AC when I plug into the charger that came with, if I plug it into the USB of the computer it does says USB but it will never say charging, I even transfered files to the phone to test the wire, seems to me I have a crappy battery but just need more feedback, anyone has had this problem before? on any phone should I call Michael Dell and order another batt?
P.S. I have a BB Javelin had the same problem did jump started the battery and now the mobile is charging no probs and it DOES hold charge.
UPDATE: Ok guys any of you running 2.1 (8105) on your USA Beta (probably regular too) and have this issue about not charging, I went back to 1.6 (4399) issue is gone, I also had the crazy screen couldn't unlock/answer phone, will see if that is gone too, more than likely it is but I'm not 100% sure.
if it wont charge using usb or mains but only by jump starting it, then the streaks charging circuit is most probably f***ed.

SGS2 battery not being charged.

Hello,
Today there went somthing wrogn with my sgs2. The battery is not being charged. I have tried few chargers but without success. Now it is powering up showing info the battery is over and turnes off. After few minutes it is again powering up and after few seconds powering off :/
I think I have to sent it to warranty service or is it any other way I can check it?
I'm not sure if it is battery problem or phone problem.
It started yesterday when my phone showed some strange message like it has been used in car (wheel icon on top).
Well guys this is totally weird.
It started charging properly when I connected it to USB cable from USB hub.
What I observed is that when battery is below 25% all the problems are happening and I cannot use normal charger. When I charge it above 30% then normal charger also begins to work without any problem.
Maybe it is software related?
It might be the 650ma limit for charging is messed up or your chargers are not meeting the requirements.
I voided my warranty and your mum.

Is your Nexus 7 stuck at 0% battery, even if its fully charged or has any charge?

I was reading that that a lot of you guys have issues with Android not displaying the real charge of the tablet and I was experiencing this issue for a while as well. In my case it was an easy fix, simply power off the tablet, carefully pry off the back, then disconnect the battery cable carefully (it's the cable coming from the big black thing on the bottom, google to find out where), finally hold the power button for about 10-15 seconds with the battery unplugged, this creates a static reset, using all of the electricity in the device and discharging it fully; it fixes all sorts of ****. Put it back together and you should be good to go.
It happened yesterday to my totally new nexus 7 16gb.
I charged it for about 8 hours while the tablet was turned OFF. When I turned it on it appeared to have 60% of battery... :-/
I reset the device and then again 60%..... So I charged it again and with no problem appearing, it charched untill 100%..
That happend only once, in its 3rd charge.
Any idea?
battery stuck at 0%
I was having this problem as well, my nexus was showing 0% battery. I took the back cover off and figured out that the battery cable was not pushed all the way into the socket. If anyone else is having this problem be sure to double check the battery cable is all the way in.

i experienced that too.switched off then after 5 hours of charging, the % was 54%. then i unplug the charger, remove the cable, unplug the 3pin . reinsert all the 3pin and cable, then continue charging. surprisingly, the charging the is quiet fast. so dont ever remove the cable from the charger. maybe there is something wrong with the asus charger
I am facing weird battery status..it shows me 0% in red danger zone even though fully charged, but after some hours status changes to normal remaining battery...I unable to understand how can I fix this...as I am not getting exact battery status...its now also showing 0 % with charger plugged....
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
worked great thanks
I found the black wires askew pushing them back in did the trick thanks!!
Nexus 7 2012 1st gen 0% battery but on battery settings says 2 days

2021 Fire HD10 - battery percentage not going up when charging

I have a 11th Gen 32GB FIre HD10. I use the tablet daily. Yesterday, I noticed that it is not charging. The charge symbol (lightning bolt battery) is still seen but the charge just isn't going up. I charged it for hours and it is still at 64%. I tried switch power supply and USB-C cable. At one point, it went to 65% but stopped. If I use it without plugging in, the battery will go down. And it will not go back up again through charge. Tried reboot. Power cycle. No difference. I have Fire Toolbox installed so the firmware isn't auto updating (since November 2021).
I am at lost right now. Is there a way to fix it without factory reset?
May be a battery failure, a port pcb failure is the next most likely cause.
A factory reset will likely just waste your time.
If the battery capacity has been declining and especially if it decreased a lot in the last month or two, it's almost certainly a battery failure.
Any swelling is a failure, if so replace immediately.
The tablet can tell it is charging and battery indicator appears to indicate the activity (by decreasing). It just seems that the charging circuit is faulty. But then, I have not come across any similar behavior through search.

Do not charge with the screen on as it will skew the charge curve.
It may be the power controller circuit but more than likely it's either the cable, the charger, the battery or the port pcb if it has one.

Unfortunately, that is the only way that I can use the tablet now. I fear that once battery dropped too low (e.g. 5% or less), it will refuse to boot and I will not be able to use the tablet even if I have it plugged in because the battery % will not go up.

Back it up now if it isn't...
back it up and replace.
I can think of something to try.
I have one old HP TouchPad that I have to charge this way.
First off, make sure you have a known good USB-C cable. I had one that was not uni-directional, I would only work when inserted one way. I'd try connecting it to a PC with the cable and see if it is connected. It might even give you the warning that it is connected to a low power charger...
Scrounge up a couple of lower power charging bricks, say around 2w or less, and power OFF the tablet,
Connect up the tablet and see what happens.
On my one TouchPad I have to use a low power wall wart to get it to charge. It won't even charge on the wireless cradle.
It will also charge off a PC at times.
Good Luck!
My problem went away awhile after a period of not charging. But the charging problem returned. I think the battery is charging but for some reasons, it is not reflecting it in percentage. On the other hand, the percentage is falling while it is in use.
The thing about the Fire Tablet is that there appears to be no way to charge it with tablet powered off. As soon as it is plugged it, it will power on.
6 weeks passed. I still have the same issue. Basically, the battery indicator is incorrect.
My Fire HD10 is still being charged and appears to hold a charge even for long period of use. But often times, the battery percentage will stop well before 100%. The exact number where it stopped increasing changes from time to time. It could be 41% today and it could be 33% tomorrow.
I have tried using it til it shut off. I recall that I can charge it back to 100% but the issue will return.
I need to make a tough choice. I am still on pre-7.3.2.2 firmware with Fire Toolbox. If I send the tablet back for "repair", I will most likely get back a refurbished one running 7.3.2.2+. But I also want my battery issue resolved.

A sensor on the mobo may have failed.
Observe what the battery voltages are with the shown battery percentage.
If the voltages don't match the percentage then it may not be hardware...
On an Li the voltage between fully discharged and fully charge aren't that much, around 1 volt or so like on a Samsung 4.25 volt battery.
I had the same problem with my 2021 Fire 10 tablet. I eventually realized it was not charging while connected to 5GHz WIFI. If I turn WIFI off or connect using the 2.4GHz band, it starts charging again. The 5GHz connection had become unmetered for some reason. Deleting the connection and making a new one as metered solved the problem, temporarily. Not sure how it is getting changed to unmetered. Really annoying bug.
