I came here to get my answers directly from pro-devs.
I was using paranoid v1.5b ROM and had a 8GB card and this one was from a Desire.
Yesterday I bought a 16GB SD and just to be secure I wiped anything on the HD2 (task 29) and flashed MAGLDR......I mean the procedure how it should be.
I flashed in CWM the same ROM that I mentioned but now I am stucked in bootloop.
That happened to me the first time with my HD2.
Can anyone please tell me the whole procedure and what I did wrong?
Help is much appreciate
Why did you have to task29 nand? Did you mean you wanted to format the sdcard? I don't see what formatting the nand has anything to do with the sdcard..
Double check your system partition sizes. I think that may be causing you bootloop.

Hi, this is a funny situation I'm in because 99% of the time I find solutions to my own problems searching this thread but I'm in a unusual situation and I'm looking for suggestions.
I was running MDJ cynogenmod 7 v.2.2 under CWM and MAGDLR 1.11 with no problem, however because some apps did not work in gingerbread I decided to go back to froyo, which I tried MDJ revolution also on MAGDLR under CWM, and got stuck on a bootloop. I blamed my partitioned (Fat/EXT4) SD card and formatted it (FAT)only and re-flashed REVOLUTION via CWM, still got bootloop so i went over CWM, and flashed it via USB Flasher to be stuck in bootloop again, just before i started crying about my dead HD2 I figured to flash windows 6.5 again and thankfully it worked. But after 5 minutes of using windows I needed android so I downloaded a SD version and tried to run it via Heret, and this is where the situation comes because I already tried many versions of android SD and none bootup. Yea it sounds like my SD but I have already formatted, any suggestions would be appreciated.

yes i have the same radio i always had 2.10.50.26
Just wondering, did you have the correct partition size for system?
Use "SD Card Formatter" and set it to FULL and ERASE ON.
thank you!
thanks for your quick help
after running windows for one day I decided to give MAGDLR another try and just like that it worked perfectly and flashed a very old MDJ Revolution build. it seems that after I formatted SD to FAT only I stupidly tried to flash a APP2SD nand build, which [i think] caused the problem [idk if this was it but my guess is that ap2sd builds only work if you have a [FAT]/[EXT] formatted SD Card (i thought it was kind of optional)]
as for running android via SD, no luck via windows, no luck via MAGDLR, but I have it via nand so I am very very happy

I have one of the older NAND rom's installed and i want to try the new one's but seemingly they are to be installed in a whole other way than i can remember.
And im extremely confused with all the different guides and what not.
I have gotten so far and installed the latest MAGLDR but from this point on im lost.
It seems my SD card isnt formatted correctly, and i need some extra partitions on the card? some use ext2 and other 3 and 4. AAAAAAARGH
Also im not sure what rom to choose so i picked one of those who had most replies thought they would be the most interesting. one of the hyperdroid maybe?
please help a clueless tard
Yeah all of the new ROM's use something called Clockwork Recovery. That's easy. All you do is flash that via USB Flasher in MAGLDR. After that you put the .zip on your SD card and flash it via Clockwork.
What you're referring to is partitioning your SD card for Apps2SD/Data2SD.
There's a guide here on how to do that.
I always search and read although this one I have not found what I am looking for.
Issue:
Phone started to reboot over and over right after a phone call. It had been working properly for months never doing this before.
Anytime I boot AD NAND I get "INVALID BOOT IMAGE HEADER"
setup when issue started.
MAGLDR 1.13
CWM 3.0.2.4 135m
Typhoon CM7 3.3.0
I HAVE DONE THE FOLLOWING.....
TASK 29
Reflashed MAGLDR
Reflashed CWM
Used CWM to install typhoon CM7 3.3.0 and also tried 3.3.5 after re-doing those steps
I also tried hd2 ginerbread, Kingdom sprint wwe, and a few others..also re-doing everything first between them.
All of this yeilds the "invalid boot image header" error. It seems to be permanent???
Am I missing something? I have flashed over 40 hd2's and have never seen this error before.
The phone is my personal one and I could not even count how many times I have flashed it. Could the nand be corrupted or would that cause other errors installing magldr/cwm?
PLEASE HELP ME.....like I said its my personal phone and I have no backup
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

Hi. I am not sure , but you can try to formar the SD card, because with the phone seems to be O.K. I am formatting always with Panasonic sd formatter , before flashing.

Hi,
It sounds like your CWM partition is too small .
Are you sure you are flashing the correct CWM size according to your ROM's [OP]?
Try using KSUBEDI's TOOLKIT (Don't forget to thank him).
It's a simple way of partitioning your CWM.
yes i make sure CWM is correct partition size
Yes I always make sure I use the recommended partitioning in the op of the rom I choose.
I have formatted my SD-card with the panasonic tool
as far as the toolkit. It may be something I did wrong but this started with my phone after my FIRST USE of the toolkit.......PROBABLY NOT THE TOOLKIT although I would love to know what I did to my phone.
I just flashed another HD2 about 10 minutes ago and no issues at all.
The only thing I can think of is possibly nand corruption but then again all things I try to do complete 100% except booting nand.

Hi,
Did you transfer the ROM by cable or card reader?
Corruption can occur with cable(USB)transfers.
card reader in my laptop.
Like I said I have done this numerous times. Close to 100 times I would guess. I do two hd2s for friends today. no issues with either. although mine is still giving the error no matter what I do.
First time I have seen this error and I do not care about my data or backups or anything of the sort.
I have done EVERYTHING to try and rectify this issue I am having to no avail.
I am stumped at this point
bump I am unsure of what to try now
Did you find a solution????
I also have the invaild boot image header error.
This used to be my phone, but i have handed it down to an employee.
He has caused a fault where it force closes with android.process.media, especially when i go to market.
I thought i would update the rom and hopefully "delete/overwrite" the problem.
One thing i did was a backup with ROM manager and upgraded that to 4.
This phone will boot into the existing ROM - Nightlys typhoon 3.2.8, but if i try to go into recovery I get the error.
Anyone found the answer????

well i dont think that 135 is the exact partition ....135 is used for nexus hd2 but for typhoon rom or hyperdroid rom u must use 150 mb systeme partition with 5 mb cach ...try from the start with task29 to clear everything and flash angain i'm sure it will work
Are you still having this? I seem to be having the same problem now. If I restore a backup it will give me "invalid boot image header". If I put a new ROM over my backup it works fine. I have task 29d. Loaded cLK, CWM, and then a new ROM. Backed this up and then immediately restored it and got the same error when trying to boot. I can get into recovery fine. I have tried different cLK partition layouts too. ):
I did it too, this is the problem and the fix
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1040564
Well the title says it all, I've tried the ROMs past V55 and they all stuck on the logo screen. Tried now ICS ROM and doesn't go past logo. I've done Task 29 and cleared every cache and format the SD and put best radio version. Nothing. help....
Did you use the right partition size? That sounds like the problem to me.
Perhaps I don't really know how to partition. I've used the 400mb recovery and partitioned a 1024mb sd folder under the add-recovery->advanced->Partition SD Card
they demanded above 180, which does raise some eyebrows.
Hd2 toolkit is ur friend.
U can task 29
Repartition
Flash
Good luck

Hello!
I'm novice on HD2, and I meet a little diffuclty...
(I'm French, sorry, my English is not verry correct)
I install my Rom Native_SD for the first time (I chose this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224469
with :
Bootloader: MAGLDR v1.13
And Recovery: ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.6.
After NativeSD installation, (everything seems correct) the phone reboot,
and on magldr I receive the following error message:
"Booting Android from NAND
Android load at 118000000
loading
yaffs2 boot is hand
Load zImage
nand kernel open failed"
An idea to help me?
I have probably forgotten a step...
When I choose installation : NAND with DataOnEXT
All is ok! The phone start on android, without default...
Thanks you for your help,
Jake

what is happening is, that when you install nativesd rom, you should use BOOT AD SD option from magldr. rom is not installed on nand. just make magldr use nativesd folder from settings and then boot AD SD to boot the nativeSD rom
Hey gilbert32, so we meet again ;D
At the moment I'm switching my HD2 devices - what is better than 2 HD2? Of course, 3 HD2
The first time, I booted the NativeSD Hyperdroid in my HD2. The touch screen went unresponsible. I got another HD2 from a buddy, flashed MAGLDR, put in the SD Card, set MAGLDR to boot from AD and was happy. Now I want to do the same trick on yet another HD2, just installed HSPL, falshed MAGLDR, flashed CWM 5.whatever, changed settings to boot from SD, put in the SD card and MAGLDR is telling me (in red letters): "SD kernel open failed".
What is the problem here, what is wrong, what is the solution?
I just reflashed the NativeSD ROM via the target device, it's still saying "SD kernel open failed"
Can this be cause by a wrong partition size on the new target device?
I think you could look at:
Wrong block size,
Wrong partition type,
Partition not set as primary,
Partition not set active
Use minitool partition wizard home.

Thank you jvzijp, but the SD is still working on the first and second HD2 like a Charm. Put in the SD, boot from SD, be happy.
But I recognized: The third HD2 (if booted with an NAND ROM) is stuck on some kind of Hyperdroid loading screen while booting. Maybe it's a case of bad blocks and I should try to resize the partition, a few MBs more to compensate the bad blocks?
Edit : I forgot to tell you, the device that's causing the trouble was a virgin. Till yesterday it ran windows mobile from stock. And the screen is cracked but still fully functional.
Hi JackDCalloway
I too bought a virgin hd2, reconditioned but running stock or any custom wm6.5 rom such as Artemis and Energy ROM's fine. I only have the one HD2 but have had one in the past and was surprised that my original SD card that used to run Android from SD using Haret didn't work.
I've tried allsorts so far to work around the issue, it sounds like you have exactly the same issue.
Please tell me.. are you able to boot into recovery (any recovery!) as I can't either from MAGLDR or SD (using 4EXT Recovery and similar)?
I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing this problem but am glad in a way that there is someone else with the same issue as me as I've been trying to resolve this for 2 months now and have spent many hours!
