How would a person go about building a ROM with that information? Can you take the base build of JRO03H and add the Crespo4g binaries? I'm impatient by nature but I'd love to take a stab at compiling a stock ROM if that was indeed possible.
Aren't those binaries out for a week or so?

I think developers compiled them from source? Not quite sure, though.
Binaries are closed source...
They where pulled from the ota prior..

Probably Sprint's tower upgrades will make a bigger difference than the new radios. Look on s4gru.com for updates on when Network Vision comes to your area.
Has anyone tried to build for the NS4G yet? I've re sync'ed my repo for master branch and 4.1.1_r3 and whenever I go to "lunch" in terminal there is no option for Crespo4g.. Only crespo
Oh wow. Quicker than I thought and definity quicker than ICS

I am confused. I thought the OTA as well as the stock images have the 4.1.1 binaries?
Whats the benefit of this since we have the OTA and stock Jelly for Nexus S?

I think the big deal here is the binaries being released for the Nexus S 4G.
Which is funny considering we don't even have official OTA update for the NS4G to JB.

I see. Good news for NS4G users. I am guessing all they need now is just someone to compile everything. Doesnt it still need something from Sprint even tho we have binaries?
For those waiting on my build it will probably not be ready until around midnight central time. the first build failed due to a lack of drive space. 40 gigs was not enough to compile.

No that is really the stuff we wait for from Sprint, the binaries or proprietary files as they are known... The devs can apply those now to the builds they have been making. It will probably have an updated radio, etc.. Could be better, could be worse
We still don't have official factory images listed for the NS4G at Google so that will be next, but that won't stop the devs from building using those binaries.

If I knew how to compile specifically for the Crespo4g I would build away... I'm synced and binaries downloaded and extracted, installed and have about 500 GB of hard drive space ready to go on my Ubuntu 12.04 setup
Just built for the Crespo a while ago and it took 75 mins.

Without knowing the build number it is impossible to say. It could be they are releasing the exact same build that was already leaked.
They should at least fix the proximity sensor from the leaked build.

If you are running the leaked official build, the OTA would probably work assuming it is newer depending if they have an upgrade path for that version. Otherwise you would need a full rom if you don't want to go back to GB.
If are rooted and running a custom rom, just wait for someone here to post the update as a stock rom.

After rooting, there will be no ota for the device.
For jelly bean, I am sure custom rom will be released for it way before its ota reaches your device if it is unrooted. No offence to stock images, but custom made roms are way much better for the xoom. Welcome on board xoomer

flashed a rom from motorola, do you have a link?
The link I provided is step by step procedure to unlock the bootloader and flash a pre-rooted ics rom. Eos nightlies the best.
This is not an official rom from moto. But it is way much better. It is not me saying, it is community voting results.
For me, I will stick with it as I am sure team eos will release jelly beans rom long before moto pushes ota to devices. Your call at the end of the day. If you wish further assistance, that is why we are here on xda.

Im a noob. I don't know these things, thats why I ask. =)
I just loaded these up, so far so good.
I don't have access to 4G in the building I'm in, but I seem to be pulling 3G just fine. Despite this, twisted's rom is reporting 1x now... weird. I'm sure it's just being reported wrong, as the speeds are as good (or better) than usual.
EDIT: after a (self-performed) reboot or two, the signal indicators are now being reported properly.
Thanks. Installed on ICY-S 8.5RC4 by MaceksMod. :good:

Not really "AOSP desensed" as that implies that you are removing Sense and coming out with an AOSP ROM. AOSP, yes, but not desensed. But yeah, I'd love to see what happens with it on AOSP myself, even though I just switched off my TB.
