there was something that you want in tweak threads. (init.d scripts or like that)
i guess you are searching for read_ahead tweak. u should look at

Hmm i will try to tweak it then i'll check if there are changes

[Q] How to calibrate the Touch Screen on custom rom

Got this phone from a friend and according to the software version it's running Gingerbread, on boot it's telling me it's Swift Droid, Cyanogen mod 7..
I'm very new to all this so I have no clue what this means but the touch screen is off calibration and I can't find the option to recalibrate it..

Do you use apps2sd or something similar of that? (link2sd...) If so, then try to disable it, and install something. Also if you use oc, try to disable it (delete x8oc).
Ok thx i'll try it

Can't see anything unusual in the log. Try to remove all extra apps and see if it's better.
Yes I didn't see anything too.
Will do that and make a flashable zip with the Apps separated

I assume you have JIT enabled on your AOSP-rom ("JIT started for system_server") ? And I also see you use Dark Tremors apps 2 sd. It's known that these 2 cause trouble, try JIT without DT or try DT without JIT ( replace dalvik libs and edit build.prop) , maybe this resolves the problem?
Else, try to put apps not in data/apps but in system/apps , this sometimes solves these sort of problems for me
Good luck!

Okay thanks for ur answer
What do I have to replace with what and what should I change in build props?
And moving apps to system app doesn't solve the problem, instead it causes another problem, it won't install the Apps then..
Hope u can help me to get the Rom ready for release
Sent from my HD2 using XDA Premium App
wich AOSP are you releasing a Froyo or Gingerbread one?
For build.prop try :
find the line:
dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:jit
replace with:
dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:fast
Good luck
Gingerbread
Okay thank-you
Should I delete the jit folder too ?

Good so far...
Hello all,
I just flashed this zip and so far the phone seems faster...
If I encounter any problems I will let you know...
PS: For those of you who are unsure which version to use on our device, it's the HDPI version
EDIT: I also think the problem with the softkeys backlight is fixed with this!
So i can only flash zip via recovery? No anymore?

As for the battery life, I really can't say anything yet.
But I'm using Aurora 4.1.1a too and the flashing process worked well.
It's nice to finally see something using the very cool aroma installer on our phone.

Just to report, installed it with 5.5.0.4, everything went well, but I don't really notice too much of a difference. Keeping softkey lights always on when screen is on is nice though, didn't know about that tweak...

Well with further testing we might be able to say if battery life improves or stays the same

Is aurora ICS stock based ice cream sandwich or aosp based ice cream sandwich?
Well I've been using it since yesterday and I didn't notice any improvement in battery life but I was using the smartassV2 governor and I think this tweak was made to work with ondemand (please correct me if I'm saying something dumb).
Just changed to ondemand so let's see how it goes.

No i think you're right because i read ondemand governor aswell. Let's see if on demanda saves battery and we might not need to use smartassv2(we all know that if the freq is too low, when it wakes up from deep sleep it takes a while to load...)

Aosp based originally from gingerbread.

Further investigating, the permissions in init.d folder are wrong, so scripts installed there aren't being run, we have to change them to not only read and write, but run too.
Second, SQLite scripts made Gmail, browser and music always crash, had to delete all those and restore data of those three apps with titanium...
Third, something messed up media scanner, now on sound settings, my sdcard ringtones don't appear anymore, even forcing a scan haven't worked yet, will wait a little more. Maybe it ways the sqlite scripts again, don't know. If that doesn't fix by itself, will restore a cwm backup and install the tweaks again without those sqlite ones to see if that's the problem.

Swap

Hey guys.. I want to enable swap...
Im running evo x4 with percy gnu10. My sd card is partitioned with 1gb for a2sd which I use. And I also have 256mb for swap. I followed carldeancatabays guide... But it won't work. Help?

Not all kernels support swap
if you get an error at the terminal command use another kernel - see the kernel op to see if swap is on the feature list
