All of them has a bugs
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300TG using xda premium

All of them have minor bugs and no GPS D:

I use the AOKP build 2 (last link) and have for the last week or so. Anything that doesn't work I don't use (camera, gps) so I haven't given it much thought. For me, it's been much better than oem, and a bit better than CM9 rc2. Definitely ready for prime time.

Really? I use SKANG and have had no issue with camera. Don't know about GPS.

I use the CM10 as my daily driver and rarely have any issues. Granted with that being said I primarily use it for minor productivity things like browsing the web with chrome, screwing around on reddit, watching HD youtube videos, editing word documents with Polaris, and writing emails. A fully functional Bluetooth would be nice, however that may have just been updated in round 8.3. No personal need for the GPS at the moment.

Is any of them worth unlocking for?

So...How Do You Like the 4.0.4 OTA on Your VZW Xoom?

Thread title says it all. What do you like? What do you hate?
For me, I'm generally very happy with it. I love the speed and responsiveness as compared to Honeycomb. I love the ICS user interface as well. It isn't all that different from Honeycomb, granted, but it's the little things. I love the page transition effect on the app drawer, the Roboto font is much more readable, and I love being able to swipe away notifications. Honestly, the notification swipe is one of the only things I truly missed about running CyanogenMod in years past. Did I mention I love being able to run Chrome finally?!
As for things I don't like...mainly aesthetics. I'm annoyed that it didn't come with the default ICS "Phase Beam" live wallpaper, but it's alright. I just ganked it from a deodexed stock Galaxy Nexus ROM and it installed fine on the Xoom. Ditto for the "Adara" notification sound.
How about you?

Meh so far. To me battery is worse, 3g signal seems worse, pulse lags just as much.
Need to root and go to an OC'd ics rom.
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
Pulse lag is most likely the app. At first, I actually thought battery life was better but now that a week has gone by, it actually seems the same for me as it was on Honeycomb...and for me, the new radio seems better, though admittedly I live in a 4G market so I'm not sure how the 3G reception is vs. Honeycomb.
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk 2
Radio is definitely better for me. Batt life seems marginally better, too, though I'm back on EOS nightly since they have the new radios... def improved batt, with all the addtl features and smoothness EOS brings.

Unrooted to check it out but ended up rerooting , going back to EOS nightly. Because of the EOS extra settings and customization.

Stock browser crashes all the time if I request desktop version of websites, or if I use google image search desktop version and open more than 4 tabs.
Otherwise, runs good, better 4g connection, and I am a little more than pissed Verizon didnt include SMS/MMS with the ICS upgrade.
I still haven't gotten it. Wth?

I just installed this app called Docktor, which cancels the launching of an app every time your dock your Xoom, since it bugged me too!
Instead it just gives you a little pop-up so that your default is overridden.
Hope this helps; it certainly got rid of my annoyances
I eventually came back to stock because I wanted to be able to watch google play movies. Plus the app I Ned to use no longer required root to work. I am enjoying the ota quite a bit and have noticed my battery life extended quite a bit from EOS 2.0

And with stock I am getting better battery life than with EOS or cm9. Please don't think I am taking anything away from those two groups of developers. They have my upmost respect.

You have to be running Android 3.2.6 HLK75H in order to update to 4.0.4. It's odd that you didn't get an update to 3.2.4 or 3.2.6...Is your boot loader unlocked? Do you have a custom recovery installed?

I was on CM9 but completely restored my Xoom to stock because non of the 4.0 custom roms would work with my Xoom. Its like no matter what rom I was on something hardware related would always malfunction. As of now it is locked and back to stock but aprently stuck at 3.2.2.

rasbeanjelly + franco.Kernel
That's what I prefer anyway
This is incredibly subjective. Just make a backup and give them all a try until you find one you like. When it comes to ROMs, its a case of to each his own.
For what it's worth, I'm using AOKP with Franco's latest kernel. I've tried all the others, but I find myself going back to it.
Yea I know I just figured one might be better or worse for battery or be a little further along on features than some others.
One thing that irritates me is stock keyboard. Does any room also come with better keyboard?

As others have stated, AOKP is great. And yes, it gives you, in my opinion, a more useful keyboard (for example, the top row of letters allows for long-press for numbers). Battery life seems pretty even compared to stock. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

You can easily download a zillion better keyboards from the play store. Don't need a custom rom for that. My favorite is thumb keyboard.
As for roms there are many good ones. I am trying out liquid smooth right now and its good. I also like aokp. Using the ktmanta kernel.

how do people deal with i/o issues

ok, so everything about this tablet is good or at least ok, not bad, EXCEPT for i/o issues which has been driving me crazy, lags when downloading, updating apps, browsing the web, downloading game files,.... anything that needs to write/read on the flash storage.
but i feel like everyone is happy with this tablet and have no complaints, don't you also have i/o issues? i'm sure you do, so is there something that i don't know that can solve this problem?

Some things you learn to live with. For example, I know not to update apps while I'm trying to do anything else. This might require that you set all of your apps not to update automatically.
Installing a custom ROM is a good start. Browser2Ram is almost a must-have. Some people have had luck with DirectoryBind to re-map Chrome's cache folder. I tried the same with Flipboard but it didn't help. So I've learned not to use Flipboard.
In the end, it's a matter of pros and cons. If you find it unbearable even with a custom ROM, a good kernel, and some tweaks, then maybe the TF300 won't satisfy your usage pattern.

I've tried just about every rom for the TF300 and Cleanrom is without a doubt the fastest. And while devs do find some ways to address the I/O problem it's never gonna go away completely.

I haven't unlocked or rooted yet so I don't have anything to compare it against, but the only bit of lag I have experienced is with the stock browser or chrome, but with either Dolphin or Boat Browser, surfing the web is really quick. With everything else that you have mentioned it has been really fast.

What can you say about hydro? I'm currently using it and haven't had any problem except stock browser is really slow and I always got the message that it's not responding? do you experience this in cleanrom or default browser is just crappy?
The stock browser is pretty crappy. Go with dolphin or boat browser as they are way smoother and load sites much faster.
One thing that might help you make a decision on Rom is whether or not you have a keyboard. I believe they only Roms that support keyboard is "stock" based. So Cyanogenmod or any AOSP Roms do not support keyboard.

TF300T will receive Android 4.3 along with several other tablets

I was just now searching for information about the new version of Android and I come up with this list: http://technosamigos.com/asus-android-4-3-jelly-bean-update-schedule/
I don't know if this is legit, but it can actually be true. Our tablet was the very first tablet to receive Android 4.1 and 4.2 after the nexus devices, and has been receiving updates quite regularly, so it wouldn't be a surprise if we got Android 4.3 this year.
What do you think about this?

fstrim will not be a magic pill. The app on the Play Store does the same thing as what will be built into Android 4.3, with the main difference being that trim is supposed to happen on a schedule. It won't do much.
