[Q] Galaxy 3 Custom Rom BY motafoca

I know the custom rom is still not finished yet.. but can some one tell me how do i use these beta(pre-releases) which are listed in these thread...
step by step guide if possible...

WOW it worked:
What i did:
1. Downloaded the custom ROM (only the PDA file basically)
2. Loaded JPF ROM To ODIN normally, using all the original files
3.HOLD POWER+VOLUME DOWN+HOME Download mode
4. Flashed it, once it was successful I loaded to Odin ONLY the PDA file which came with the custom ROM package
IT DID NOT Booted successfully
5. Turn off the phone
6.Hold POWER+VOLUME+HOME keys together
Selected Factory rest/wipe data
7.Rebooted WOW IT WORKED!

I have the same problem as you. I can´t loaded the phone after succesfull flash. But you wrote that you downloaded some PDA file too, but I haven´t got smt like this in download Please, can you help me? thanks

its not a good rom...
1. looks really bad, (looks) not at all impressive...
2. i dont see any improved speed.....
i guess gsam's stock aosp 0.1 custom rom is 100 times better than this.....
gsam , if u are seeing this, please we want next updated version of your great rom..

Hmm,
I think the custom rom by Motafoca is uite good. Atleast no bugs till now, and great battery life. As for the looks I dont think it is any different to the other ROMS. It is just a matter of installing a launcher of your choice if you dont like Ream launcher.
By the way combined with your glossy green framework everythink looks enticing!
By the way Nakul, is there a chance of having that green themes of yours in other colors too? Like sky blue maybe??

yes thats exactly i am gonna release another theme.....
blue coloured with entirely different icons..
and hope if dark lestats deodexed rom is up, my theme would be full coz the stock apps would also then can be changed.....

Hi. Just like to share my brief experience with this rom and highlight a problem to the dev. Everything was fine, but the samsung keypad no longer worked well. It could only input numbers in the portrait 3x4 mode. The reason why I'm using the 3x4 is because this phone's my mom's and it's much easier for her to hit the larger 3x4 buttons than the smaller ones on the Qwerty keyboard.

[Q] Menu button light is not working :crying:

I am running CM10 latest Quarx build on my Defy+ with bl7 after installing the update, menu button light is not working :crying: Is there any way to get it back I tried rolling it back to the CM7 but no use. Any help is really appreciated. Sorry for my bad English...!!

I have the same problem, and the exact same button
I think the led behind that button is not working anymore...

Try to install the CM as indicated in the topics (respect the steps). Do it from begining carefully (flash the stock ROM).

If I understood right you wanna install CM7.2. For that to work is good that after flashing stock ROM and installing 2ndinit to reboot and from stable recovery to format data/cache and dalvik on ext3 followed by flashing custom CM7.2 (I suggest you to try another CM7.2 mod).

My actual problem is not with the Rom. Menu button light stopped glowing right after shifting from cm7 to cm10 :crying: Sorry for my bad English.

I think the high brightness settings would have burned it

Then there is no way to get it back......!! Wish I didn't mess with that settings....

I didn't messed with buttons lights, and still got 3 burned LEDs. The first to go was "search". A month after that, the "menu" button went dark. Now the "back" is gone too. Just "home" remains with light. I don't think it's a software issue... More likely a project flaw or bad manufacturing (I still use CM7, no tweaks).
Last week I also got a "stain" (a lot of bad pixels) on the center of the screen. Just turned the phone off and put it in the freezer for 12 hours. After that, it was new again (lucky me). Yeah, the famous trick works folks (unfortunally, not for the capacitive LEDs though).

I'm inclined to agree. It seems fairly common. My menu button LED failed when my Defy+ was around 6 months old and completely stock. I put it down to a hardware failure.

Time for me to claim the Warranty
I will unroot the device and will claim the warranty...!! :good: But only problem is I have to wait untill the device returns back and have to use that ****sung again sorry Typo Samsung* :crying:

everything is ok
only when phone start screen on samsung logo left uper corner red and yellow text too small not readable.
plz help how can i clear it and why it shows????
and plz guide me easy way of calibration.

Can you provide a photo..this generally happens when you boot into recovery..
Is your rom running fine?
Calibration..download an app for that..any which requires root..
Plus what you can do is..in the recovery-->advanced----> clear battery.stats.

its too small

I dont know..maybe something related to the bootanimation? Or the kernel?

It's a normal message. Ignore it. Everyone has it that has a custom kernel.

charging power off not working

Hi all,
I got a problem when i m tryin to charge my phone.
When is on i got no problem to charge it but when is power off
I can t charge it.when i plug the cable , i feel an vibration the screen turn on , i can see batterie logo in the middle of the screen for 5 secondes max and it turn off .
If any body got yhe same problem.

Thanks for answer but This problem come from the kernel i guess, i tried to flash cm11 and it s works great, i got green logo on screen .if somebody have any solution about that , patch or another kernel or something else to fix the problem.
I got the latest cm12.1 and i would like to keep it.

Are you SURE it is not charging? The logo goes off but the phone normally keeps charging.

I m using original cyanogenmod kernel and i got this problem since cm12.i never tweak or use any other kernel.
Working fine on cm11(4.4.4).i tried to speak with an cyanogen dev but no success.

I just tried it on mine with battery at 96%. Turn phone off, connect power and I get a battery logo for about 4 secs then nothing. I waited 15 minutes and on start up my battery was at 100% - so it doesn't LOOK like anything is happening but it definitely charged while off.

screen horizontal lines that appeared

Hello guys
i had this issue with my screen recently on top of the screen horizontal lines appeared but the weird think that they disappear when i play a video or watch youtube in full screen

i did have kingroot for a while if that helps to know
and this photo shows that after playing a video in full screen the lines disappear which honestly made me confuse

i showed my phone to a repair guy and he said that the display is damaged but if it was damaged why would those lines disappear while playing a video ?

If it's a software issue, then a factory reset or a completely new ROM may fix it.

i did a factory rest and didn't fix the issue

You can flash the stock ROM again or any other custom ROM. This is just to test if it's a software issue or not.
You did not mention your phone model, so no, I cannot suggest a ROM.

i did install a custom rom and the issue is still there :crying:
