I'm interested in upgrading my girlfriends u8800 and maybe try the Aurora ICS. I've been reading loads of posts on how to achieve this.
But I still have questions about it, all guides available here on the forum aren't 100%, they keep referring to the latest official final firmware but non of them state which is the official final firmware?
So i wonder which it is, is it B522, B526 or B528?

So B528 is the "Official FINAL firmware" of Gingerbread? Is it a good version of rooting? I'm thinking about putting Aurora ICS or CyanogenMod on it. Any recomendations?

if you are asking about latest official ICS leak XXLPY, then yes. I have flashed it on my unrooted indian note.

can you provide steps that you took to install the germany rom in your note and how is it functioning, any fc's anywhere?

Just use PC Odin on download mode. I do use the LPY on my Note. Downside your CSC will be changed to KOR. But its ok

I have a custom 3.2.1 ROM (so i have CWM) and i'm trying to revert to stock 3.1/3.2/3.2.1 for an easier upgrade path to ICS (via OTA) but all the links to the update.zip's are dead. Does anyone have a working link, and if not, can anyone tell me how to update to ICS from where i'm at?

cant you use supersu and busybox zip files available on Dr Ketans rooting post ?
flash them from stock recovery to root
but you may continue to be on unsafe kernel
frist flash CWM and then subusybox

I have reflashed CWM 6 and then again flashed subusyboxinstaller through CWM ........... got rooted again
also flashed hydracore v7 back..............

if you haven't yet flashed hydracore go ahead and flash philz ddlr9 kernel... working fab for me

Philz stock kernel is now available for DDLRB.
This is just a small firmware update for "improved stability "
I think it even cleared cached as all applications were optimised after boot.
Also the entire Samsung Premium suit was reinstalled

but the 1$ question is where is the changelog? cause even after digging everywhere i cant find any visible changes?

This rom was made by Mvhla who is a chinese rom maker. This rom was first released at 52samsung.com. The newest version is 8.91
This rom has multi-windows cracked/playstore added/3 languages only.
This rom has an issue that changing battery might lead to bootloop. Powering off the note correctly and waiting a minute before replacing the battery everytime would solve this issue.
The intallation is in chinese.
BTW, Hongkong has a new leak.

do a factory reset or restore backup will do just like all the xxlsc there's no differents ！！！
noobs can just get away from jelly bean leak n it will keep u safe ！

Or just be patient and wait -- when this happened to me on XXLSC, it eventually booted up just fine.

With this new rom rooting are lost, Philz patches do not work and neither did the "exploit" have corrected the problems of the Exynos, surely there replace the package "code tar.md5 ......." (odin) the "boot.bin" rooting able to use this rom., I'm back to rooting for xxlsa again.

What do you mean by online update?
Are you referring to OTA update !
If you are referring to ota updates i don't think there's a custom rom with this functionality..
Only the stock rom and CM based roms i guess and it depends on the devolper..
