FroyoPro - The "TV" Effect - XPERIA X8 General

Hello guys, i have a doubt about this "TV effect" that appears when i lock the screen or press a button to appear the unlock the screen. So this is some kind of problem? I can change it? That effect appears in Froyo 2.2.9 too.
Thanks for help!
I'm using FroyoPro v25 by Irakkarl

It is not a problem or anything.. You can off the effect if you want in Settings>CM Settings>Display.

But on my version of Froyo doesn't have this shortcut only Settings>CM Settings>FroyoPro Settings,Application Settings,Input Settings,Performance Settings, Performance Settings, Sound Settings, User Interface, Spare Parts and Simcard Tool Kit

What doubt? Does it bothers you in some way? Thats a beam ported from CM7 since the froyo you are using is the successor infamous ROM by doixanh.

Yes it really bothers me! It's like a damaged screen, can someone help to remove this if this is possible?

Well, you can't turn it off in Froyo ROMs. dx had to do a lot of changes to make it work on Froyo.
You can turn this effect off only in CM7 ROMs, try GingerDX or MiniCM7

infamous, deedii?

Why infamous?

Whick kernel are you using? If stock, you may have to do a full wipe and reinstall (redownload if necessary). If you're on custom kernel, you may have to install the addons too. Head to gdx thread for details.

Whos it does effect stock too, though it causes graphical glitches
Yeah I take back what I said it works on stock kernel, though I don't recommend it.
tried this on j's cm7 20b
achieved avg 82fps...
it makes a lot smoother but also makes lag...for me
ive attached a signed zip with modified init.local.rc
flash this with xrecovery
hope it works
Is there any potential danger doing this? I'd might try it on 2.2 for testing only :O

maybe it causes battery drain...not sure, idk, lol.
backup your phone and give it a try
i think it doesn't affect in froyo

oh....my bad....
it was sdcard speed improvement

i just forgot to delete that
thank you utsubo.
i understand.
np.
forgot to say, it's modified init.local.rc from j's cyanogenmod 7 v20b
it should not be used for other roms

your update.zip didn't work bro... still stuck with the 40 FPS limit..
hmm...strange...
tested and worked for me.
j's cm7 20b, almost clean install.
i think it works with latest...
flashable zip attached...this time, with my build.prop included
Anyone tried on stock kernel?

will test once my battery has more juice.
Tried on 2.1 optimized. No improvement on benchmarks and screen jitters badly. Also saw 4% bat drain in 10 mins, but that could have been down to trying to multitask wiv mod applied (wifi,BT,sync). If I can provide any further useful info let me know. B-)

Kernel problem?

I want to ask can a kernel cause a screen disorder?
Why am i asking this (according to myself, stupid) question?
Because when I flash HCDR.Jacobs v4.1 or v4.2 kernel on any ROM it causes the screen to flicker and screen becomes snowy while turning on. And when i flash any other kernel, problem disappears.
And, by jacob, that kernel can be flashed to any ROM.
P.S. Can you tell me whats the best kernel according to you for wildfire (include link to the kernel thread please)?
Which ROM are you using?
If you are using CM7, stick with the stock kernel included in it. (nFinity by arco). It's the best one IMO, because arco has optimized it a lot for the Wildfire.
Jacob's kernel v4.2 may cause stability issues because it is clocked at 768MHz OC by default, and, many Wildfire's hang or are unstable at that speed. It's unlikely though why its happening in v4.1, but, in any case, its highly recommended to stick with the CM7 stock kernel as stated.
If for any other ROM, use this one. It's the same as arco's nFinity and Jacob's kernel, but, modified a bit to run on other ROMs

Kernel is something like a bridge between the hardware and software to communicate with each other. Eg: oc kernel allows overclocking.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
hey, whats wifi n mode?
Wifi N is a type of wifi networking.
The WF doesn't have support of it afaik.
Which sucks, because my home wifi is n <-<

Thats funny as I'm connected to a WIFI N @150Mbps, which I find strange as the device isn't supposed to be capable of it.

Have u manually added the network or does it detect automatically.

[Q] upgradation of android version

hi......i have xperia x8 with android 2.1...............n want to upgade the version to any newer version like 2.2 or 2.3.
so plz tell me the metod of upgrading it.
Read the stickies!
Go to youtube and search "how to root X8" and look for the vid by TECHNEWSWEEKLY. The vid i mentioned above is the 1st step in upgrading your phone. From then on, search "how to install xRecovery on X8" from the same dude. Lastly, from the same guy, search on how to install Froyo ( 2.2.1) or Gingerbread (2.3.5) and you're good to go thats how i did it. Its all in easy-to-follow steps !

Might be a hardware problem I suppose.Try reflashing a stock rom and then see.
the problem is that with stock rooted rom it works perfectly ): i have no idea what can i do now ):

I had tthe same problem in jellybread v5. But I installed white kernel instead of savies cm#2 kernel. So I thought the problem was in the kernel. But when I reflashed my stock rom the problem was solved.
the situation is that this is my friend phone. he is total noob in rooting etc. i have never had this problem with my wildfire and since i have it everything works so far. today he accidentally deleted his only stock rom backup. i have another request now. which rom is working at all, and there is no custom kernel required?? because i'm not able to go to him and install by myself so i want to know which rom is totally bugless (; thanks in advance

Stock rom is totally bugless
all roms will have a bug list on the op if there are bugs - read it
no stock based rom requires a specific kernel
cm7 requires percys kernel
discussions in which is best rom bug free rom and so on is against xda rules - read each of the roms op & decide which is best for you
i didn't ask which rom is the best at all. i don't know much about roms released for this phone so i ask for custom bugless rom (; because he is stubborn as hell and he wants to have custom rom. so as you pointed, stock modded rom should work well and there is no.need to install kernel if i understood well? thanks for reply (;

Yeah, Try stock modded roms... Also you can suggest him Hyperion 8. Its not totally bugless but those are minor bugs. Your friend don't need to worry about these bugs.. Its fast and cool too...

okay, the phone works now. he got it into bootloop after flashing hyperion rom and he couldn't enter in cwm mode so i flashed stock rom via odin and rooted again. now it runs nemesis rom which works great. thanks for all ideas, thread to close (;
