I am extremely tempted with one of these, I know this may start a fanboy android vs iOS slagging match, but what made you change, are you happy and what are the major benefits, I read on here that the SGS2 has some issues with gps, wifi and terrible battery life, this concerns me.
I'm an Android user, but...
- GPS is the fastest I've ever known in a phone
- Wifi is fine
- Battery life is dependent on what you do. There's a bug in Android 2.3.3 which has been resolved in 2.3.4, which causes excessive battery drain on dual core phones. An update is being released this month supposedly... [hey, even with the bug the life is fine IMO]
just about to sell my iphone 4, there are some things the ip4 does better but i think there are some software updates coming to the gs2 that will bring it back up to speed.
I did that. I sold my iPhone once I got my SGS II. In truth, battery life is a bit lower than iPhone but I guess it has something to do with the 2.3.3 kernel. I am now waiting for the 2.3.4 kernel but other than that, I love the SGS II.
The battery life last about a day with low usage (surfing, Whatsapp, Beejive IM and also Seesmic). Usually I end the day without about 20% battery. Also, I use Navigon with it and I am very happy with the GPS. It picks up and lock on about as fast or not even faster than the iPhone 4 with Tomtom.
I have an iPhone 4, but I'm not selling it. It's a fantastic little device. Keyword: LITTLE. I don't want to use it as a phone anymore, but I'm not going to sell it because I have a lot of money in vested in the appstore, and it lasts FOREVER as an Mp3 player! lol. It also takes great pictures .
But I got my SGS2, as well. But No, I'm not selling my iphone 4, but maybe because I afford to keep both? If I couldn't, maybe I'd sell it. The SGS2 is a way better phone and device in general, but as many people say, every phone has its pros and cons.
Just a couple of things.
The sound quality from the iPhone is quite a bit better. And there are lots more games on the iPhone.
But, the sgs2 allows you to customize the phone to a much greater extent. And its screen is simply wonderful.
If I was you, I would wait until Monday and see what apple has in store and pop in to a shop and check out the sgs2.
Personally I love my sgs2 but I am thinking of getting a mp3 player as it sounds a bit poo. But that's just me.

Sold mine and don't look back very happy with what I have.
sold mine to get the sgs2, many pros and cons for both but happy with sgs2 and dont seem to have any battery problems,gps problems all is good. just the home button slow to wake phone up which fingers crossed it will be solved with 2.3.4 update.
but i must say ill be getting the iphone 5 on release day
Sold my iPhone 4 as well and got the SGS2 instead. Never looked back. Never really liked the iOS interface anyway so it felt great to be back on Android..
Something which is DEFINITELY worse on the Galaxy 2 in the audio quality over bluetooth. It simply SUCKS.
Since I drive a lot, it's something I really miss of my Iphone 4.... also if anybody knows about any fix (I heard of something somewhere, but never managed to get enough info), please post it to me I will be very grateful.

The wife has my iphone 4, don't miss it and much prefer my SG2

Audio quality the iphone4 is definitely better unless u have a portable amp then i cant say. Only thing fun bout the iphone was jailbreaking to me and that didnt lasted very long.

I have iPhone 4 but am getting a bit bored of iOS. I Jailbreak for customisation options but Android seems to be much more versatile & the lack of Jailbreak for iPad 2 worries me going forward with iDevices.
Apple need to reveal a major iOS 5 overhaul at WWDC (the introduction of widgets is essential) or I'll be getting the SGS2 at the end of the month.
If iOS5 does tick all the right boxes for me then I'm really going to be torn. I will probably run both iPhone 4 & SGS2 until the new iDevice is launched & then make the Android v iOS choice.
My only real concern about moving to SGS2 is the build quality. I've tried the store demo units & they don't have the premium feel of iPhone 4.

I sold my Iphone 4, it was jailbreaked with lockinfo, BiteSMS and much more. The build quality on the SGS II is maybe not as great as the iPhone 4 but it is ok. The one thing I miss most is the overall better quality of apps in the appstore - and the batterylife of the iPhone

That also means you save that screen space hehe. Yes the iPhone is a good phone. It has it's pros and cons. But I prefer an android phone with a 4.3 inch screen than a 3.5 inch screen device. Battery life isn't as good on a 4.3 inch fully functioning multitasking 1.2 ghz phone compared to a closed single core smaller screened device that doesn't allow any real multitasking. Shame. Oh well I'm going to get a battery case (maybe) hehe.

Am keeping my iPhone 4 for now. Love my SGS2, prefer the bigger screen and customization options.
Battery life is much better on iPhone and prefer the build quality.

Had an iPhone 4 (32gb, jailbroken, etc). Fell in love with the SGS2 after reading every article that I could find. Ordered it from expansys. Kept my iP4 just in case I didn't like the SGS2. Within 1 day I had my iP4 up on craigslist for sale.
I guess I'm lucky since my job doesn't permit me the luxury of playing with the phone all day. Battery has been more than adequate for me. Fact of the matter is I've been at or above the same level as my iP4 at the end of the day.
The thing that I'm super stoked about with this phone is it's potential that has yet to even be unleashed. IMHO it's the most future proof device out at the moment. The full capabilities haven't even been scratched yet. I'm still running a completely stock device and I couldn't be happier. Once dev's get a real hold on the device watch out. Powerhouse FTW.
So I can pick up my new S3.
I've been wanting to switch forever to Android, but to me the hardware wasn't always quite there. Now that phones have caught up, I'm itching to go upgrade. However, I know the iPhone 5 is being released in just a little bit, so I'm going to hate myself if I don't at least hear what the 5 is going to have. My guess is NFC and a larger screen, but I can't imagine what else they could bring hardware wise. I love my Iphone, don't get me wrong, but I'm guessing hardware will barely change and to me Ios6 doesn't look like it will bring a lot of innovation to the market.
I'm such a nerd though, I use to have an HTC with Windows Mobile and modded the hell out of that thing. It was the most fun I've ever had with a phone, but the camera on it was horrible, which is pretty important in my eyes.
Does this forum looks like Android-Buy-Me-Forum? Dude, make your own decisions...nobody, I mean nobody can tell or convince you which phones you prefers. Iphone has their own advantages so does Android.
Everyone using Android will say Android is better, so if you go to an Iphone forum, the same will happen. If you want to use a phone with stability, nothing changes over time, everything goes well everytime, go to the Iphone. If you are someone who likes to tweaks your phone, able to set your own personal ringtone without going to iTunes, go to Android. Simple as that
Camera on the SGS3 is awesome, it has NFC, Android has had turn by turn navigation for years, you can do anything with Android you want, the quad core CPU is awesome if you watch videos receive an email or text and just hit the pop out play button to watch the video and check the email or text.
You aren't bound to what a company says a phone should be able to do, you don't like the stock rom flash a custom rom. The UI looks different in different versions of Android. All share cast allows you to share whats on the screen with a TV whether its a slide show of holiday pics or a video.
Google now trumps siri in so many ways (when JB comes) you can just copy files to any PC, no installing iTunes on all PCs you want to share things with.

I never really enjoyed iOS, at least when I purchased for4. For the first iPhone 3, I'm sure a lot of us could agree it was probably the best OS out at the time. When the 4 came out, it seemed like the best hardware compared to others as well, but iOS was falling behind.
But now, I don't know whats up Apples sleeve. I mean, what could they possible bring to the table that will provide the wow factor hardware wise? NFC won't do it, I even think wireless charging wouldn't do it. A slightly larger screen and maybe a better camera? 3d? All stuff is either standard now or a cheesy gimmick. That's why i love the S3, because it has the hardware, plus we all know Android is fantastic.

Iphone's screen will never compare to the GS3, better camera get the Nokia N8 with a 12MP camera, 3d get the LG Optimus 3d, these are already out there Apple will just be copying everyone implementing things we don't see in the SGS3.
Also lets not forget the hardware in the iPhone is all Samsung hardware, so iPhone is made by Samsung as well. Any hardware Apple could improve over SGS3 (CPU, GPU, screen) will drain your battery which you cannot replace. with the SGS3 if you need it you can carry a spare battery with you and just swap it over when the awesome hardware drains the battery.
Well first off, it's an iPhone... While they may be popular, Samsung has over thrown Apple's control of the market share."Everyone that's popular, cool, rich has to have one right???" No -_- the SGS3 cost more than the iPhone, so that marks off rich people. I am pretty da*n cool and popular, that marks the others off cuz I have an SGS3. It has a quad core while Apple is just now getting into the dual core waters. Battery life is amazing. GPU is the best around. Dev support, not locked down. Jelly bean smoothness on the way.
I mean c'mon if you seriously have doubts on getting an iDevice and becoming an iSheep, then leave XDA. Unless your job forces you (which I would still try my hardest to avoid) to have an iPhone, steer clear and enjoy your freedom.
I don't know why you say the iPhone had the best hardware, it wasn't hardware that made it smooth, it was software optimisation.
The 4S is using an underclocked dual core processor and it only has 512mb of ram.
Hardware has never been apples game, they just optimised the sh*t out of iOS.
Also objective C is faster than Java. (iOS and Android coding languages respectively)
Hardware was nearly always better on high end android handsets (no point comparing a 59.99 low end Android to a 700 quid iPhone, although most people that say Android is **** base their opinions on that.) Because it had to be, the os wasn't refined as much as iOS because there were so many oems, chip manufacturers etc. there were so many variables.
Now with JB Android has really found its feet, JB is the release that Android deserves as a platform, it is the one that will win non-technical people over with the ease of use and of course the fact that it oozes butter all over the place.
So to get to the point, iOS is dated, Android is growing better with every release. Vote Android.

Well its possible for the iphone5 to be better spec wise (cpu, gpu). If you're into gaming, it seems developers always put out the best versions of their mobile games for apple's product so that could be a plus for you. Other than that, I don't think anyone knows what's going to be in it.

if he's into gaming then he should get a console or a PC.
to the OP, you said so, you want to change to android, sgs3 is a great way to make that change, the iphone 5 could be good but we don't know yet besides, if you like freedom then android is your choice.
my recommendation is, wait till the iphone release and pick one by then, if you come to our world you will enjoy it and never leave, trust me.
If he's in the us his gs3 won't be a quad core . But it will have 2 gigs of ram and be fast as hell. I'd go with the gs3. In fact I am going to the gs3 lol. I have the gs2 right now.

Apple will never compete in hardware spec with Android because there are so many android devices come out every 4-6 months with higher spec. Apple will never catch up on that department.
Maybe there will be new softwares in Iphone5. But whatever software offered in Iphone5 will be available for Iphone4.
So basically, there is nothing, I mean really nothing worthwhile that Iphone5 will bring to you.

Read how unimpressive IO6 with the features that are coming out and the compelling but unsiteresting hardware underneath it. Besides you know what your getting with apple tbh, there hardly surprising anyone as much as they used to these days, but incremental change has its merits.

Then again anyone who has used both a lot will say that they are somewhat close to each other. They're both incredible phones and to be honest, anyone who says the iPhone is a lot better is just biased , and vice versa with people claiming the nexus 4 is a lot better. Both phones are somewhat close and it ends up falling on personal preference.

In all the tests I've seen (yet), the iPhone always beats other smartphones in terms of battery life. The difference isn't night and day, but the iPhone probably lasts around 1/4 or 1/3 longer than most smartphones.
With the Nexus 4 looking freaking incredible, looks isn't an argument anymore. The iPhone also has a very nice design, but what I hate is that they don't really change it. I have the same criticism towars Google by the way. It's a shame that the Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus 4 look so similar at the front. But that's only one time, and the back IS different (and nicer), so at least I have a feeling it has changed. Apple changes too, but not as much as other companies.
Where the Nexus 4 really shines though is the OS. It's just a fact that you can do a whole of a lot more with Android. A whole lot more. Advantage of iOS is that it's fast(er) and intuitive. However, this gapp is gradually being closed as the Nexus 4 has virtually no lag at all, at least not really more than the iPhone. Some OS features do still lag though, even though the hardware is good enough to take care of them, which kind of sucks. As for intuitifity (is that a word?), in my opinion Android is not really any worse, and some would argue it's better. Things like having all your downloaded apps integrated (as stated in the gizmodo article above) is just better.
If you are going to tweak around with custom ROMs I wouldn't even doubt a second. The N4 has the price going for it (really, how can one not see that? The iPhone is twice as expensive, and it's certainly not twice as good), it has Android (which means tweaking, if you're into that), and now that the hardware is fast and Android became mature, it's also fast and intuitive without having to tweak around.
Have both. While the iPhone is going back (merely because it is equally good but far more expensive), it is in my opinion the better looking device, definitely the more premium device, and iOS is still a little smoother, faster, and more consistent and refined than Android is at the moment. Google know Android has a way to go yet in terms of fit and finish, but in terms of features and flexibility, it is currently the market leader. And it is crystal clear that Google are heading in the right direction - ICS and JB were massive steps forward over what were pretty poor predecessors.
Which I prefer? Honestly, if I was given either I'd be chuffed. The iPhone's hardware is far superior, but I do feel that Android's multitasking makes it for me.
Battery life...Nexus 4 would get around 6 hours of screen on time browsing over Wi-Fi, iPhone, around 9. Very vague I know, but it's a rough estimate. Over 3G, about the same; the iPhone 5 doesn't seem to hold onto its power on standby well at all.
How to convince your friends? I wouldn't. Let them play, let them judge based on the price tag.
iPhone: Faster, smoother, noticeably better cameras, noticeably better battery life, higher quality apps, less things to fix or workaround, much easier to use one handed (and I have large hands), much easier to back up, better build quality, significantly more choices in app and accessory ecosystem.
Nexus: Dramatically cheaper to own and use! Open - off contract, more customizable, widgets, accessible file system, more options for how to do things for the most part. It has a bigger display as well, but it gets in the way of one handed operation.
I like my Nexus 4 a lot, but if the iPhone was $350 and $30-50/month, it would be a tough decision to still go with the Nexus 4. I might, as I really like the usability and customizability of widgets and software like tasker and other utils, and being able access/stream/copy files to/from my network is really liberating. But there are still many rough edges to Android that don't exist with iOS.
If your friends are tinkerers and problem solvers Android is best. If they are not, and want the best user experience, let them keep their iPhones.
iOS: high end device with latest technology right out of the box, for people that don't understand or doesn't like to tweak their devices.

The only thing iOS beats Android, it's the app quality (not all, but the majority).
But I'll be honest, I was kinda jealous of my girlfriend's iphone 5 (with my s2). But after getting my N4, she's jealous of my phone =D

No idea where you got that number from, but 4 hours is about the limit I've seen.
If we're talking about a lot of browsing throughout the day on Wi-Fi, I get close to 6 hours. Daily usage with the majority of it on 3G, less of course, probably around the 4 hour mark.

Yes!
Why do you feel the need to show them anything? Why do you think they are deluded? Maybe you should worry about your own stuff and they worry about theirs.
But like a number of other users have said, the pros for the n4 are custom roms/tinkering and price, if your friends don't care about those things then you aren't going to convince them the n4 is the better phone.

you should get over 4 hours wifi, I got 4.30 on stock, 5 hours display on wifi easy, or 6 clocked at 1100mhz

iphone is for the majority who upgraded from a nokia 3310 and don't know what to expect in a phone, just want emails etc
android for those who like freedom to customize and know what to expect when they spend money.
There is plenty to like and dislike about both phones.
The one that fills more of your likes then dislikes is the better phone for you.
Sorry iPhone 5 beats N4 but Samsung Galaxy 3 is iPhone slayer.

Having just switched from an iphone 4 to the N4, the one thing that I can't believe hasn't been built into Android yet is lockscreen notifications. I understand you can pull the notification bar down, but I'd like to see something like iOS or Windows Phone 8 where I can see at a glance how many unread emails, msgs, missed calls I have without having to buy apps to do it. Not seeing the screen wake up when I receive a new notification is different too (also to quickly glance), but I'm getting used to that.

I've been thinking long and hard about this dilemma for the last few days and I've finally made my decision...I'm just going to wait.
Next month when the S4 and HTC One are both released, I'm going to take a trip to the AT&T store and make a hands-on comparison between them and the iPhone 5. I'm not loyal to any brand (I've owned devices from all three companies, all of which have been great), so I'm just going to pick the one I like the best. What really made me begin doubting my choice to get an iPhone 5 is the large price for the 64gb version I would have to purchase in order to store my music collection. $400 is ridiculous for any phone on contract. However, if the S4 has subpar audio quality and the HTC One underwhelms me or AT&T doesn't offer the 64gb variant, I will more than likely be splurging for the iPhone 5. But, after thinking about it, I really don't want to. While messing with my Nexus 4 today, it hit me hard how much fun I've had with Android. It's the most powerful, dev-friendly mobile OS and it truly gives the user the ability to make their phone their phone. And I feel like purchasing an iPhone would be going against everything I've enjoyed with Android, even if I still do have a Nexus 4. So, if at all possible, I'll be purchasing either the S4 or the HTC One (I'm growing fonder of it with each passing day). But if the storage and sound quality expectations I have cannot be met, I will more than likely buy an iPhone 5 simply for the fact that I made a promise to myself that my next smartphone would also be my MP3 player.
I'd like to thank everyone who posted in this thread and helped me make my decision. Many of you actually did bring up some very helpful points and made me seriously consider what I should use my upgrade on.

I've been conflicted lately. My mom recently bought an iPhone 5 and I've sort of fallen in love with it. I'm no fan of the home screen (it is very, very boring), but the apps are amazing and the audio quality (both external and internal) is great. I'm also not very bothered by the screen size. In a way, moving to something smaller is slightly refreshing. Option two - Keep Nexus 4 and buy an iPhone 5:
Benefits:
I get to keep up with the two largest mobile platforms
When I finally get a Mac Mini, I'll have integration with it

Build quality is amazing
I won't have to wait for updates through the carrier
I could keep up with Android through my Nexus 4

iOS is really smooth and browsing is honestly a pleasure (not that it's not on Android; I just find it to be a bit better on the iPhone 5)

If I end up loving it and want to buy the next model, I can sell it on eBay at an 85% resale value (great thing about Apple products)

I would go with the Qualcomm S4. I personally see cyanogenmod as a must for my new phones. When I got my I9300, I didn't even check to see what the stock rom features were. Rooted it and install CM9 in 20 minutes. My main problem with the iPhone (don't know if it's changed) is the need for iTunes to sync your media. I much prefer to rip my CDs and drag and drop the flac files in conveniently organized folders. I had an old iPod where iTunes would take readable mp3 files like "My Favorite Song.mp3" and stick them in some obscure folder and give them weird names like a9wepjmcw.mp3. Not to mention for video files I like to keep them organized in a way I can understand. I just hate being tied down to iTunes for trivial things like loading new music, movies etc. Also, while you may not have to wait on a carrier for firmware updates, if rooting/jailbreaking means anything to you, you WILL be waiting for the newest jailbreak fix to come out. At least on android you have CM to take care of carrier updates. My SGS1 runs android 4.2. One of the biggest benefits I think of rooting/jailbreaking is just for the ad blockers. Makes a MUCH cleaner phone experience.
And, I think the whole build quality is highly overrated. As long as it doesn't scratch too easily I could care less whether the phone is made of the cheapest looking plastic or highly reflective aluminum. I buy my phones (when I can afford them) for the raw hardware power and CM, not really for the premium look. Sadly, I'm not due for a new phone at least until 64bit armv8 comes out in 2015? (Which ever comes later.)

I completely agree with basically everything that you've said, but I already have two Nexus devices (the 4 and 7) so pure Android is always going to be accessible to me. Also, I sort of keep my entire music library in iTunes anyway. I just always have, even when I haven't owned Apple devices. Sometimes I'd use it alongside of another one such as MediaMonkey or Winamp, but I always found iTunes to be the simplest when it comes to managing music, burning CDs (am I the only person who still does this?), and finding new music.
As for audio quality, I usually go for strictly 320 Kbps MP3s. FLAC files are huge and I've never been able to notice a huge difference (maybe a slight one), so it doesn't bother me. What does bother me is the hissing I get with the Qualcomm DAC on my Nexus 4. The rom/kernel I'm on increased the volume (making it about equal with the iPhone). However, at about 3/4 of the volume level, distortion kicks in. I'm worried that this will also be problem for the S4 considering the DAC from the S4 Pro to the S600 is probably the same. For probably two years now I have been dying to have all of my music locally on my phone. It hasn't been possible due to either hardware limitations (16gb of storage on the Nexus 4 is a no-go) or horrible DACs (Galaxy S2).
The more I think of it, the more I like the idea of the iPhone. I mean, the Galaxy S4 is by no means going to be bad phone. If I didn't have the Nexus 4 to keep up with Android, I'd buy it immediately. But I think this time around I'm going to try something different. I'm not 100% sure, yet. But probably 60% of me is leaning towards the 5.

honestly, I think you should go for the iPhone.
the nexus 4 is a great device, and even though the S4 is much better (IMO) it's not worth keeping if you buy an S4,
I would say sell the nexus, get the S4 and the iPhone 5 ahah
but maybe you like the nexus more than I do
if I had the S4, I doubt I'd ever get the Nexus 4 even though I'd like to have multiple phones I think I'd be better off with the S4 and an iPhone

I would much rather keep the Nexus 4 because it gets updates from Google and Key Lime Pie will be out pretty soon. However, I can understand why others would rather have the S4 than the Nexus 4 because of the hardware. But every time a new Android OS update is released, I get software envy, so it's best for me to keep a Nexus device.

No. Because I've never found benchmarks to be a good indication of real world usage. The iPhone 5 is ridiculously smooth. I was literally blown away when I realized how smooth it was compared to my Nexus 4 which I considered to be the smoothest phone I've ever used.

Just saying did you look at the benchies or not... not asking you to base your choice of phone out of it. Although it no matter a whole lot if the differences are marginal. But certainly does matter when the differences are huge!

Yes. I did look at them. The S4 is around two times-faster (processor-wise) than the 5. However, you wouldn't be able to know that when actually using it.

Yeah. I've pretty much made my mind up. I'm going to go with the 5. There's no point in having two great Android phones when I can I have one great Android phone and one great iOS phone. And I'll be switching between the two every now and then just to see how each of ecosystem is improving (I'm VERY excited for KLP and I hope that iOS 7 makes some UI changes).

Omg I'm so considering this now that tmobile is selling the iPhone starting this April. I love android to death but the iPhone seems so smooth and stable. The only problem with the iPhone is no swiping keyboards and it had a terrible battery compared to the s4.

It has a smaller battery, but it's by no means terrible. The battery life on the 5 I've used has been better than most (or maybe all) of my past Android phones.

I want to know from expert guys who have bought S4 or those who have expert ideas about screen smearing or other issues with S4, kindly advise me should we buy S4 right now or should we wait, or should we consider iPhone5 which does it all in good way but just smaller display or even HTC One?

@usmanxhmed you can choose whatever you prefer. People here will bash you if you mention any iOS devices. But tbh I just switched to S4 and currently having yellow tint issues .. I believe my iPhone 4S's display is brighter and clearer than my current S4, only that it's smaller. You may want to wait.

Seriously, it's the best phone I've ever had. My mate has an iPhone, I was showing off my S4 today and it does impress.
The quality of the screen is the first thing you notice, just playing the helicopter video which is on the phone does a good job when showing off, then demonstrate hovering over text messages and emails, then gesture scroll on the browser, it can't fail to impress, even iPhone owners!
Don't hesitate, just buy an S4.

If you consider to buy a Iphone 5 instead of the s4, better go with the One. Its closer in terms of fluidness, haptics, optics and display.

You're probably just too excited with your S4. I had an iPhone before the S4 and the screen is much brighter. Also, my S4 has a yellowish tint, which is not something i'm happy about. Oh and all those features by Samsung are gimmicks and useless, I turned them all off.
It's a good phone, don't get me wrong, but I hate how this forum is filled with fanboys defending it with everything. Phones DO have disadvantages whether you like it or not -.-
The screen is definitely brighter on my brothers iPhone 5, but most the time you have it on mid brightness anyway, otherwise the 1400mah battery will run out

@3473 Yeah a smaller battery and drains fast, but the screen does not disappoint imo. I always had my brightness on 80%. The thing is, I never noticed it until today, hence why I am annoyed by it so much. I realise it now every time I turn on my S4 :\

@NNIicckks This is my first samsung as well, hence why I'm disappointed. Can you hold your phone with an empty white screen to your laptop (both on full brightness) ? See if you can find yellow tint in yours.
Firstly i am not iFanboy, as i bashed all my life iPhones when i use to love Symbian, the likes of e52, which i bought 4 times in few years and i use to dislike Android as it stole the show and i use to laugh at iPhone as i thought it lacks basic features.
Then features made me switch to Android and i could never switch back to Symbian which i still love, but can't use as most of them you know why, thought i have an old Nokia 5630 for emergencies like now.
Used few Xperias, Desires, Galaxy and the last one i sold was HTC One x About 40 days ago to get decent money out of it just to save money for S4.
Then S4 was so dam late after its announcement, i could not wait, i bought brand new black iPhone 5 just to try iOS for the first time in life, to see why girls, and people like girls like iPhone so much, mainly i evaluated in past because it just do most things, and it does in fairly better way.
When i bought it, i liked iPhone5 screen, not just the brightness because i usually set brightness at 40 percent, to save batter, but the blacks, the colours and it was decent package.
I was surprised that you cannot change even SMS app in iPhone but little happy too that i could never decide which SMS app or which launcher i should use with Android, i was happy there is no home screen in iPhone as i was always nervous to use any widgets on Android due to poor batteries of all android phones.
I was sad that you cannot block calls, you cannot record calls and you have to pay for paid Apps unlike in Android, in which i use to find Apps from net and manually install them. i decided not to jailbreak iPhone because i bought it for ease of use and not to mess, so i given up in whatsapp being paid and start using viber.
then i found it iPhones bezal is prone to scratch like a fire in jungle, softwares were beautiful and screen was too small i felt, though i bought to use for long term but due to those limiations i bought new iPhone 5 with good loss for S4 a week ago after using for 2 weeks.
Now i kept my savings back to buy S4, now guess what, screen, issue, over heating, battery drain? now i think did i made bad choice to sale iPhone, as it was doing most things good and plus its size was great to carry it around, if i could adjust with smaller screen thinking, little is big if little can do most big screens task, as i sold iPhone for big screen S4 plus normal android features like default softwares changing, hacked apps, sharing of songs/videos and larger screen to view web pages and videos and pictures.
Though iPhone screen was very good, i was fond of AMOLED sharp colours too and deep blacks.
Now nobody knows whats the situation of S4 in Pakistan, i called the retailer he says he has no clue about about smearing, what it is, means he is not sure if its there or not, so i am left to spend all my savings to buy this fun and see if my luck is good or bad.
Another thing that let me down is no response from Samsung, i think they taking success as granted just as Nokia did and see its condition now, My beloved Nokia too took success by granted an stayed in past glory, by feeding ancient generation slow CPU when the world was moving to dual cores, they thought we are Nokia we can do whatever we want.
Now samsung is silent, no official response, are they this careless about consumer or worried about 10M pre orders?

For HTC One X lovers, Metal is good, but prone to scratches and dents more than plastic, so you have to put silicon cover, metal gone and phone becomes fatter, but fine, its ok to bear it, but power switch is not fine? it must be pain for me? HTC in years every reviewer bashed your power button placement, and you are not willing to learn, this time put even farther.
Screem is better but why smaller? battery is nice and again smaller as was the case in S3 and One x? why HTC has to do these compromises is beyond me?
But the two things that is putting One off for me is power button placement, hello i have to use second hand every time? and batter concerns?

Have to agree. I don't have or notice any of the screen issues folks are going on about. Compared to my HTC Evo 4G LTE, the whites might not be quite as bright at times, but the colors are so much better and the screen is very easy to see and use, even in full sunlight. I guess the screen comes down to personal preference in the end, but I sure would not let any minor issues like that have been reported stop you from trying it. It's not perfect, but I'm really enjoying mine so far after a week of using it.
Hovering affect is waist, so as air gestures? they are not reliable plus they will drain battery plus they will slower the phone, plus they make the OS heavy plus simply touching the screen is more assured? and if you have to show these off, then i should not take your advice.
You can talk about benefits of larger screen, more sharing options and other useless features, please not gimmiks, thanks.

No dear i am not isheep, actually i was symbian fan, when it died i went to android, used many android phones, i was waiting for S4 after selling HTC One x, but it was getting long wait, so i bought new iPhone 5, liked it, but had small screen and lack of sharing features so i tempted to sale it again for S4 as i thought it is automatic choice, but now after these issues i am confused

i know how it works. it's simple a prison ( iphone ). you can't do sh1t with it. a damn old ugly interface for ages now. same design kept for years.. nothing innovation.
well. i'm not fan of anything. but i'm sure go to freedom. android is freedom. f*ck ios. my galaxy s3 with wanam custom rom are million miles better than iphone 5. not to mention my galaxy s4 is going to be. once the dev start kicking.

Well a personal question, you are not forced to answer, but why your wife has 2 iPhones any ways? is one not enough?
and few people don't have free brain and free time to waist on custom roms or all that stuff, they just want to use phone and after using iPhone i know its limitations and strengths now.
Plus, man take it easy, dont enforce your thoughts on others, and dont think what ever you think is absolute right for everyone, every one as different needs and brains, hence different preference for phones.
So if you tell phone one is good and phone too is crap, i will sit back and feel sorry and i will think you need time to be mature in life.
You should say my favourite phones has these benefits which other phone is not having, thats better

Compared to my HTC Evo 4G LTE, the whites might not be quite as bright at times, but the colors are so much better and the screen is very easy to see and use, even in full sunlight. I guess the screen comes down to personal preference in the end, but I sure would not let any minor issues like that have been reported stop you from trying it. It's not perfect, but I'm really enjoying mine so far after a week of using it.

Well dude, perfect is nothing, not iPhones scratch prone premium body, not HTC One bigger body with smaller screen as compare to S4 or its power button position, but for the like of me, who is not that rich and he save some money to buy expensive phone, its not easy feeling to buy it when he reads all this up here?

I understand. All I can tell you is that after using mine for a week, I don't find ANY display issues at all with my S4. I think there is just a mountain being made of a mole hill, personally.
BTW, some of the "gimmicks" are useful. Like the hover thing. In certain apps, it's kind of like hovering your mouse over a thread header in this forum and getting a preview of the thread.
The issues aren't that significant and they don't make the device unusable. Apart from these tolerable display issues, the device is amazing. Perfect audio quality, great battery life, thin and light.
iPhone 5 is also a great device. Yes, the display is small but it has great contrast and accurate colors. Just know that there will be things that you could easily do on Android but can't on iOS.
I didn't get a chance to use HTC One, so I can't comment on that one.
