If I unlock the kernel and use the customers' ROM, can I lock the kernel again for the warranty?
Post this in Q & A

This goes in Q&A, yes you can relock. The factory images in the Android site provides the files to relock and go back to stock.

Yea, that was my thread I believe. The server I had them on mysteriously lost all my files. I will ask someone to post the files. I know Pete has some posted but it was brought to my attention that he changed some things so they are not technically stock.

That is the one to use for sure Love it!
Why is that thread only posted in the GSM section? You should split them, or copy and paste it in the 4G side too.

I've just been lazy, and I originally started that thread before xda split the Dev section.
I'll start a thread in the NS4G section soon.

There is a Q&A section if you did not know. This is the development section so you need to post that question in the Q&A section.

no, you can run cwm without root. go to your bootloader and use fastboot to flash the recovery image to the nexus 7 and then just the bootloader to go to the recovery image. also i am sure there will be someone along in a bit to tell you that you posted in the wrong section. while i really don't care, others do and you are likely not to get much help unless you move your question to the Q&A section. Just a friendly tip.
^^This
when I got my N7, i unlocked the bootloader, flashed cwm, then installed a custom rom that had root access already. I didn't gain root until after I already had CWM running on my N7.
I don't think u can flash cwm without unlocking the bootloader first. but yes, u can have cwm and not root, some actually had this problem lol

Did you read the beginners guide? First post in the general section? (before this was moved) before this new thread? It is in there. I recommend you start reading there and then ask questions.

Please familiarize yourself with the XDA rules...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?a=81
You have already broken many of them including posting a question (Q) in the General section and not using the search function.
Go to the Original Android Development section, search for LOKI, and read as much as you can.
Good luck.

And how? This is exactly his question. Unfortunately he was to lazy to search the forum to see that there is still no recovery AFTER you have updated to KitKat. Without recovery he cannot flash supersu. Or?
