Hello,
I've received today my Nexus 7 and unfortunately I have the screen popping out on the left side issue.
I believe no one has found a fix yet because I've searched for one, so I propose to gather here those who have that issue.
I can't send it back, as I'm from România and I will have to wait another month to send it back.
So guys, any ideas?

yes check the general forum, fix is there for you.
Oh, I'm sorry. This could be closed. Thanks
LE: that fix doesn't work. Any other opinions?

I removed the sponge on back in order to fix the screen lift, spongy screen issue. Now I have to send my device to Google for other problems that I am facing. Is the removal of sponge would be seen as damage to device?
I know many people removed that form but does anyone of those have tried the Google RMA?

I have received email from Google as well as the shipping label but now I am confused whether to send it or not because I have removed the back sponge to fix the screen lift issue.
If my device do not cross axis while laying down then I would not replace it as I have fixed the lifted screen issue.
Also I am thinking what if the new one is worse then my current one. I have seen many people posting here that their new device was also defective. Any serious advice would be appreciated.
My device do not have famous screen flicked issue.

I'm gonna wait to send mine back until I hear that there is a new batch or something.

But RMA through Google had 14 days as deadline. Am I right? Or you want to go through Asus?

did removing the sponge really solve the issue?

Removing the sponge made it better but it does not solve it completely however using the washer fix solved the problem fully. The washer fix is the permanent solution.

Hey, has anyone else had a problem where, after weeks of a seemingly flawless n7, it starts to creak ? For me its when I put a bit of pressure on the right side of the screen and release.. its barely concerning, and after 3 rmas already I'm not sure if they'd let me do another, but do you think I should try? I definitely do not feel like opening up and fixing it by adjusting screws.. but A what if I get a defective one and B what if after so many Google says no :S thoughts ?

Ok, after having a blown speaker issue with my Nexus 7 3G, here's another one: I'm trying to install a apk and the install button cannot be pressed! WTF? Never seen this issue before?
Installing third party apps is enabled, and this seemed to work some while ago. I'm not sure WTF is happening.
Running stock 4.2.1 rooted.
Attached a screen shot where button is inactive :

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

That thread took me a whole 2 seconds to find with a google search for "cant hit install button android".
Please don't just instantly hit the new thread button. Ridiculous.
Please post questions in Q&A section.
Agree with you guys.
Apologies . I was in a shock state

Hi Guys
I seem to be suffering from a issue where the touchscreen has a dead spot.
Now I had an earlier issue that caused all sorts of issues with screen responses - ultimately ending in no response unless I hit the power button to lock and then unlock.
That problem lasted about a week and then stopped - my thinking is that there was an app update that solved it.
Now however the issue has resurfaced (seemingly after other app updates) but it is a dead spot roughly where the first notification would be on the notification draw. Any ideas as how best to find out the cause of the issue, or a fix?
I've included screen shots showing the touch trace.
Cheers for any help

I can't help you but with some custom rom there can be a bug with it until I make some setting changes to the Nav Bar, but otherwise I don't know.
Forgot to say that this is stock 4.3

What I don't get is why it went away after the first time.
I don't really want to factory reset if I can help it.
Is there a way to look at an update history for all your apps? Then I can pinpoint the offender.

I've found a solution.
After factory reset and safe mode not helping I came across a comment in another thread.
You have to Disable HW Overlays and Force GPU Rendering. Now its not perfect and can have an occasional fit but does seem to solve the issue

Hello folks,
on of our company phones just startet a very strange behavior.
we recorded for you for better explain:
installing the factory images had no results. Can sb say, if it is possilbe to solve thsi problem? Otherwise, we can also send it back to google.
thanks for replies.
greetings bulkatos
It's either a real life ghost messing with your phone or the digitizer is messed up. Easiest way is to send it back.
digitalizer is bad. the weird thing is that the lastest touch driver(included in stock rom) was made to along with other things. fix that also. send back to google.
Okay, thank you (Linus). We will sent it back. Hopeful we will get back a new Nexus 4.
