hi everyone. i'm using dzo's latest ice cream port (aurora 4.1 update1a) now.
and also i'm facing a strange internet connection problem.
let me try to explain it.
i can use internet (data or wifi) normally after i open it, but whenever phone goes into sleep mode ( it's just my guess ) and then i unlock the screen, the internet goes away.
what should i do for fixing it ?

It's a known bug.
Generally disabling wifi/data and enabling works but time to time it doesn't. On those times you need to restart the phone.
I hope dzo will fix this soon.

Hey all. I do not know any reports about this so I wanted to make a thread revolving around it.
I do not go out much and have bad data plan, so at home I really lie using Wifi, or anywhere where a spot is available. I noticed now though that after activating the wifi, it can take time, but every so often the wifi would still be connected, but all data moveent halts, as if clogged hole, hence description of the problem. After you close and open wifi connection and it reconnects, everything goes fine until next clogging.
Is this problem specific to me only, anyone else noticed this?
Is this problem 2.3.5 and .35 kernel specific? Is anyone on 2.2 froyo and .32 kernel having this problem?
Custom roms: does current MIUI for example suffer from this?
I am trying to find something abou this, if it is U8800 harware specific problm, then I just continue dealing with it, but if it is software based, I will try to fix it. Even if it needs downgrading or anything.
Yes, had this myself... It's very annoying and it usually happens if I reboot when Wi-Fi is already on, or wake-up the device from sleeping when wifi was on. But I can pretty much detect when it happens, the "Wi-Fi" icon stays gray, which means it did not connect to Google servers properly.
It's not hardware specific, I'm 90% sure it's the kernel (like all other fails in .35). I was using CM7 based on .32 before, and it had super fast Wi-Fi with no fails.
Yeah. I can get little by luttle more nnoyed by the anticts 2.3.5 - i should do the trick for pink screen and reinstall froyo. Is there a froyo mod for the quick wifi access and stuff from notification bar? Ah, like i need that if after it my wifi works perfectly.
No wonder official huawei.com site and product catalog do not list it as 2.3.5 device or offer update for it. For now I really think I am better off downgrading and waiting in lay...

I dropped in my sensors.sage.so into your ROM and the sensors worked great (I think.. rotation worked)
I used the libsensors that came in the jordan (Defy) device tree if that helps.. (had to change LOCAL_MODULE from sensors.jordan to sensors.sage in Android.mk for it to build)
If you're OK with it, I can upload it to a more world-friendly site (probably MediaFire )

We should built it together for filpside,one man can not do it well for this job.the other man that i want to say thanks is the wanggjghost,he help me to do it well.
if you upload you file,i will soon to fixed it .
So... i finally got the 2nd init installer to work...
and i got cm7 installed...
my findings are... the accelerometer does not work... meaning the screen doesn't change orientation when you turn the phone...
and
the telephone dials out... or rings when called... however... when it attempts to connect... it reboots the phone...
and
the camera is still broken
and since i don't really know that much about it... i don't know how to fix it...
hopefully one of you guys that are better at this than me can come up with a fix...
i did get wifi to find my network... though i couldn't connect cuz i don't know the password (i use the push button method normally)
it looks so pretty... and runs so smooth...
if there is anything i can do to make your lives easier on this... just lemme know...
my phone... even though its my only one... is ready for testing...
i don't care about sbf flashes... i do them once in a while just cuz i am a glutton for punishment
ok, this seems fine by now... well I am not a dev so could not direct help, but try by post several threads in other forums in order to try to call other FlipSide users and may be Devs that may help to set this Rom to full.
Hope that lucky we may get some additional help to come.

When I try... it reboots the phone...
That is the only thing keeping this from being my everyday ROM

i was having the same problem as well, mine included the market place too since i installed gapps... i kept messing around with different settings and finally found a solution...
in the settings under wireless and networks go to mobile network settings and change the network preferences to "gsm only" for some reason this beta version doesnt like wcdma yet... which kinda sucks cause you can only get edge that way and no hspda or 3g.. but i was able to make phone calls and download apps after changing that setting..
on another note everything works AWESOME the only problem other than that that ive had is when i changed my ringtones from the default to a custom mp3 or something other than what it comes set at default it doesnt ring anymore when i receive texts or calls... but vibrate mode works just fine which doesnt bother me for now! I'm just so excited to finally see some development on such a neglected device.. i was started ti lose hope and was just gonna let the phone meet the brick wall... i always thought it was odd that nothing was going on with this phone when its more powerful than the original Motorola Droid which was my first android device and its seeing ICS ports... hmm.. ICS ports just something for you guys to chew on.. i will keep playing with stuff on this beta and let you guys know if i find any other bugs!!!!

You guys aren't the only ones... The lack of dev support is honestly the only thing I dislike about the flipside, and it seems like we're well on the way to having a usable rom.

Yep... You are not alone, same by me.... I evolve to really appreciate my Flip, since by now is long time that it is serving me faithfully.... really wish and deserve a much better rom for so reliable hardware.

If you change the settings how I mentioned prior you won't have any reboots

I was using CM10 by Tezet, but when I started reading the posts on MS2Ginger 4 Stable v2 thread by Danik, I wanted to give it a try and compare the performance.
But something is really annoying me: when I try to connect to my wifi at home (and at work), it connects, I start browsing and downloading apps but, after a few minutes, i can`t use internet anymore. The wifi says it's still connected, but I can't browse or use play (it says 'no data connection'). It is happening almost all the time (although sometimes I can hold the connection for longer periods).
Is someone else having the same problem? Is it possible for me to fix it?

Hi. 2.3.6 Android has some problems with losing wifi connection if IP lease time in the router is set to infinity. Setting a shorter IP lease time is said to solve problems. I've never experienced it, since I've never user 2.3.6, but I've read about this issue. Hope it helps.

I'm not sure about what you're saying. I've found "Client lease time" under DHCP Settings, is that it? Mine is set to 0 (which the router says it's 1 day). Should I set this to another lower value then? How many minutes?

Exactly the same in my case, right now I'm using CM10. It's not so laggy after all, and almost everything's running well. Regards!
The problem while comparing this 2 great roms is that MS2Ginger4 v2 is using alternative I/O calc. ported from Driod2 which causing a huge slow downs (very often i had to remove battery), but allows you to recording in HD quality (what isn' t possible at CM10). The second thing is that CM10 have some features of ICS/JB and is nice for an eye (I wouldn' t to write all compare because u can sit, and read all thread with CM10 and MS2Ginger v2 and get some informations about how this or that rom is behaving)

Same for me. I am jumping from stock to cm10 then stock, miui v4, cm 10.1 and now Ms2g5 from danik. I am not sure where to stay cm 10.1 JB was very nice too, same with ny google nexus 7 tablet.

I have a problem with my N4 which is making me crazy and i don't know what to do:
When i am at home and my phone has WLAN, most of the times whatsapp massages are not arriving anymore!
As soon as is get the phone out of sleep they are arriving in an insant!
WLAN deactiviation when sleep is off and even wlan optimization is off too
I had an iphone before and never had these problems here...
So what to do? I even flashed factory image again and started all new without anything else but whatsapp installed but it didn't help!

From what I read this only happens on the stock firmware. I'm on CM10.1 and don't have the issue.
I had a similar issues on my Galaxy Nexus.
What helped at first was downloading and installing his widget posted in the OP of this thread. The WIFi High performance Widget.

If that's the case it's kernel related.
Big thread on it in the 'nexus 4 general' section, it's annoying many of us. Make sure to follow the link and make your complaint known to google too.
A workaround is to set wifi to turn off in sleep mode and have 2g (more battery friendly) on to pick up notifications, to wake the phone up.
Used to happen more often, but after I flashed PA, I don't have this issue anymore on 3G, on WiFi sometimes..

Yh Im having the same problem since I updated to 4.2.2.. When I first had my device and it was on 4.2.1 there were also delays but then somehow, (maybe because I rooted it?) the problem went away.

Im using aurora v5 update 20. battery lasts 2 days and everything works like a charm. im waiting for blefish's final release to try cm11. i tried it, it was pretty smooth but couldn't connect to my home's network so i got back to aurora

PC device affords. There is no shortage
There are just waking up to the problem.
I solved this problem as follows:
wipe dalvic I did.
then the phone is opened ;
without making any adjustment
