WIFI "clogging" issue - official 2.3.5 - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hey all. I do not know any reports about this so I wanted to make a thread revolving around it.
I do not go out much and have bad data plan, so at home I really lie using Wifi, or anywhere where a spot is available. I noticed now though that after activating the wifi, it can take time, but every so often the wifi would still be connected, but all data moveent halts, as if clogged hole, hence description of the problem. After you close and open wifi connection and it reconnects, everything goes fine until next clogging.
Is this problem specific to me only, anyone else noticed this?
Is this problem 2.3.5 and .35 kernel specific? Is anyone on 2.2 froyo and .32 kernel having this problem?
Custom roms: does current MIUI for example suffer from this?
I am trying to find something abou this, if it is U8800 harware specific problm, then I just continue dealing with it, but if it is software based, I will try to fix it. Even if it needs downgrading or anything.

Yes, had this myself... It's very annoying and it usually happens if I reboot when Wi-Fi is already on, or wake-up the device from sleeping when wifi was on. But I can pretty much detect when it happens, the "Wi-Fi" icon stays gray, which means it did not connect to Google servers properly.
It's not hardware specific, I'm 90% sure it's the kernel (like all other fails in .35). I was using CM7 based on .32 before, and it had super fast Wi-Fi with no fails.

Yeah. I can get little by luttle more nnoyed by the anticts 2.3.5 - i should do the trick for pink screen and reinstall froyo. Is there a froyo mod for the quick wifi access and stuff from notification bar? Ah, like i need that if after it my wifi works perfectly.
No wonder official huawei.com site and product catalog do not list it as 2.3.5 device or offer update for it. For now I really think I am better off downgrading and waiting in lay...

WiFi sleep policy not behaving

I have WiFi sleep policy set to "Never" but still find my WiFi to be disconnected upon waking the device. When wakened, I see the WiFi taskbar icon to be missing, then shows up with full signal. I have tried this while connected to two different SSIDs, both have excellent power (even in the same room as router).
I am using Liberated FR008. I've tried rebooting, changing policy then changing back, nothing is helping. What could be causing the disconnect?

It's a bug with the wi-fi driver that was present throughout Liberated 2.1 and 2.2 series. It was better but not perfect with CM6. With CM7 it seems to be fixed.
If you like Sense, you might try Gene Poole's ROM based on the AT&T 2.2 release; IIRC it comes with an updated wi-fi driver.

I tried all three ROM, Wifi still disconnect after wake up on CM7, but internet brower is much better experience. I suggest stay away from ATT stock ROM, it will lock your bootloader then you real screw.

CM7 hasn't dropped once on me yet, while Liberated 2.1 used to drive me insane with the wifi dropping.
Also, I'm not suggesting to flash the ATT stock ROM--I suggested Gene Poole's, which is based on stock RUU but has the hboot update removed.

Mobile network didn't work for me on (Texas)Ice Cream Sandwich

I don't have any Mobile network on Rebuild of Evervolv-Perdo-2.1.0p2-passion
But I don't have enough posts to ask on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366897
Anyone have the same problem like me ???Need some help
You have to search for network twice. It will fail first time .. it will also complain 2nd time with "No network found" error but you'll see the network status icon on the notification bar.
you may have ongoing problems with this until 3.0 kernel is out
I have issues with every build and sometimes takes numerous tries and sometimes doesn't work. This is well documented in thread--

Install the latest ROM (p3) from this thread, it solved the mobile network issue. Auto connects on reboot. I'm enjoying it
I tried a couple of the ICS roms (they are pretty much identical) but did find many features lacking, app support and hardware support are the biggest issues so far. The 3.0 Kernel will fix a lot of those when drivers have support. I tried the supposed fixed version but my phone network wouldn't connect at all even trying automatic selection. Then again I wasn't exactly impressed with ICS either mostly the UI changes that just don't seem to fit in with phones. ICS looks like a bad port of a tablet OS and I guess that's what it is.

I had all kinds of issues with the p3 build (miniskirt). Overall slow performance, market and gtalk missing, people app not logging in, stuck notifications, broken a2sd etc.
I am sticking with p2 for awhile.
I keep getting a prompt requesting a reboot because the sim card was added. If I press the back key, it just works anyway.

@shahrier: guess the miniskirt version doesn't include gtalk, market etc. Also I was not using miniskirt versions (was on custom blackrose since quite some weeks).
Anyway, let's hope for a p4 or p5 build with working camera
Well, rapmv78 has already given us N1 geeks the perfect New Years gift. ICS on the NexusOne is now effectively feature complete with proof-of-concept camera. As of now, running the p4 build with the camera hack (in TexasIce's thread). Yes, lots of crashes and freezes but its a small price to pay to live on the bleeding edge!
Mobile network autoconnect works, but I'm experiencing soft-reboots periodically, and then a prompt to reboot due to SIM reinsertion or something, which I can surprisingly ignore by hitting the back button. This could be because I didn't wipe my data partition while upgrading from p3. Or the camera hack.
Anyone else experience this? Possible solutions?
EDIT: Fix for mobile network on p2 (atleast for 5.08.004 radio) - While selecting network, hit 'Select Automatically'. It will show an error prompt. Do not touch anything. Within ten seconds, your network should connect automatically. Hit the back button and start making calls and sending texts!
The full p3 (as well as p4) build is much better it seems like compared to miniskirt version. So yeah go with one of those builds if you want auto network connectivity. Oh and camera kind of works now with the work that rampv78 did. Follow these steps to get camera working on p3/p4 build:

Also, if u haven't been following, there are some solutions to try for soft reboot problems - disable lock screen, move dalvik to internal, remove ext partition). Strangely one solution works for one person.
Looks like moving dalvik to internal, fixed the reboot issues for me (no reboot since 10 hours)

OPen the base Band Switcher,It is in advanced option in the settings.Choose an appropriate one.Another thing about hanging up.The 8th march build by quarx is buggy so u might want to wait for the next nightly
Thanx a lot.. i read a few posts and found the answer to it..
the problem i am not facing is that whenever i keep the phone idle for some time... the signal bar on my phone goes colourless hence internet stops(full signal remains) .
Its shows full signal along wid the E sign (although i use 2g) but its colourless instead of the usual blue hence i am unable to do internet on the phone..
i then have to either reboot the phone or toggle the mobile data On/Off option to get it starting again..
I read that somewhere 3G stops after being idle to stop excess data usage .
can this problem be solved without such hassles of togging??
do please excuse me, as im in no way a real guidance to your issue. As im a newbie and using a miui version, and not a cm.
but in case im mistaken, theres an option of saving battery (at least in stock rom of the defy) that makes wifi signal go out after 30 minutes when the screen goes off.
Even more, lots of battery optimizers have that option, and may be (im just expeculating right now) thats the case in that cm rom you have....
Try going to the battery settings and disable the "power save" stuff.... and test if it keeps on happening for you.
Remember that wifi costs LOTS of energy. and youll have to ask yourselve if isnt better to just toggle on/off the button and get much more time of "awake" phone instead of having your phone die because you go to sleep and forgot the wifi on.
First check internet is working without install any software after flash your phone.....I also faced similar issue but after I found out one of my software(call master) is the reason for that issue..
So try this one

Re: [ROM][NIGHTLY] CyanogenMod 9 for Motorola Milestone 2 (Android 4.0.4)
This is kinda sad, that I can't reply directly to the ROM thread, but here it is, I just hope someone will tell them, or see it to adress these problems correctly:
There's a couple of problems with this ROM. First of all it loses the data connection after sometime of inactivity. Browser won't load anything, asking to check the connection. Going to settings -> data usage -> mobile data switch -> turning it off and then on solves the problem, but it's kind of annoying to do that five to six times a day.
Secondly - just after flashing this ROM keyboard backlight was working fine. But after installing the gapps it stopped. Just won't work. ((
Third(ly))) - Apollo app crashes at random when trying to listen to podcast/music from sdcard. Also annoying. Disabling data connection seem to solve the issue tho as it stopped crashing yesterday.
Fourth - some sensor shanannigans when you're trying to use chrome (games are fine with it) while charging. Random zoom-ins and stuff.
Fifth - and most terrifying. Sometimes it loops, as if I was repeatedly taping the screen at the center or somewhere near it. Can't even reboot when it happens. Power button to lockscreen seem to solve the issue.
Otherwise this ROM is smooth and good and I like it a lot. Using it for a few months now.
Big thanks.

The Data connexion loss is a recuring bug for some, mostly people who have a Carrier that use roaming (ie : use another's carrier's network). No known fix for know, but some people seems to have it working "better" by disabling data roaming/national data roaming in options, but it's not for everyone, since some carriers require that to be toggled for data to work.
For the Backlight on the keyboard, be sure to check if the automatic gestion of automatic backlight is activated, it's required for it to work. There is too a "fix" for the problem in the last 5/6 pages of the main topic from memory, but don't recall it exactly, so you'll have to dig to try it.
No idea about Apollo, but it seems to have quite some quirks, and most people use other players so not sure about it, maybe start by checking the Apollo dev's page and market comments to be sure it's not related to Apollo but to the ROM.
The "random sensor shennanigans" while charging is something that happens to a lot of people, i think it's a multi touch bug from the kernel, but not sure (ie : not really solvable by the dev, unless he finds a way to remake tezet's fix (i think it was tezet) or we all use CH kernel since it seems the bug isn't there in this kernel [ wtb a way to use custom kernels :/]).
Your last problem is a weird bug, probably linked to the ROM, but i must admit it'll be hard to pinpoint, since i don't have it but my brother do, while both phones are the exact same model, and flashed the same, in the same order, with the same sbf/rom versions and so on.
I guess you can try to make a full wipe/factory reset (only backuping data you REALLY need to keep like contacts/sms/call log and so on) and redo your phone config, because as far as i know, the only difference between my phone and my brother's is that i had to did that again after i screwed up a couple times, installing an app that was bricking the phone (took me a few wipes to identify it), it might be the reason why i don't have it and he does, or not.

LTE fix? Stops working after a few minutes - need to reset phone

Hello - my issue is this:
Data/LTE fix? Stops working after a few minutes - need to reset phone
N910F - tried stock, and various roms - same issue (actually i think on stock it worked best but im unsure now)
cant find a fix anywhere - any good souls out there who know what to do?
your time is much appreciated.
Does only the LTE connection stop working (so it goes down to H+ for example) or your mobile data connection in general?

Good Question.
No it's still up and the connection shows that only "upload" up arrow is lighting up, but the down arrow stops lighting up.
It may sound super stupid, but can you access the internet or do any other internet related applications work? I assume it doesn't, otherwise you wouldn't have started this thread, but I just want to ensure.
Because at the moment, it sounds like a bug with the "connection display" to me.

I WISH it was just that
unfortunately, all internet applications stop working - i contacted the telephone company and they agreed to reset the connection and that I should turn off and turn on my phone in about 15 minutes - see how it is then. Will post my findings later - there are many threads on this topic on google - but I felt better posting here on XDA. Appreciate the help in diagnosing.
You're welcome!
Just post your results later if possible.
Did you modify your device before the problem accured? Maybe it's the fault of root or a custom ROM you are using?
still nothing - going to use stock rom and test the findings. I dont want to sell the phone but I feel I have to now...
According to your last post, I assume you're using a custom ROM? If yes, got back to stock ROM and test it again, just as you said. I guess your custom ROM (if you're using one) is the problem.
not fixed - going to take to a service shop
Hmm, that's a huge mess. Do you still have warranty? (Although I guess it's voided by playing around with custom ROMs...)
And do things like normal calls work?
