I'm in India and I got mine replaced at HTC service center in Delhi.
You should also visit a HTC service center for authentic parts.

I've got some specific touch issues. Sometimes my capacitative buttons and one thin horizontal strip of the screen don't respond to touch. Sometimes the entire touchscreen takes in input without even touching the screen. Sometimes everything works perfectly. I'm having to reboot multiple times to fix this issue. But then it occurs with absolute randomness. My phone is barely usable most of the time. My question is, which part is to blame? The digitizer / ribbon Cable? Please let me know. I would like to replace it myself. I've already opened the phone to check for any loose cables. My phone is out of warranty hence I am a little hesitant towards HTC Service which is an outsourced establishment.

Its 1yr old now, and though I don't know how I managed it, those green patches are laced with a few hairline cracks. The outside is undamged and has had a screen protector fitted from day one. What i'm trying to assertain is what do I need to fix to fix it? A screen...a touchpad ...or both ????
Not to sure mate.
A similiar thing happened with my old phone. I never dropped it or treated or rough etc, and it got heavy pixel damage too

Hi Guys, I have a G2 I purchased from t-mobile last spring, it is a great phone and we have a lot of joy, I am very satisfied with the phone, except the battery time.
HOWEVER, the phone's screen did not light up since last week, and I believed it is the ribbon cable, because everything else just works fine, so I can still pick up phone call (weired without any display)
My phone is out of warranty (1 year) and I will not bother spend more money to look for a new ribbon cable.
If anyone want this "dead body", with original box, earbuds, three batteries includes one extended ugly thick one. The phone screen is covered with the invisible protector since the day I got it.
Just throw me an email, [email protected]. Maybe we can work out something.
BTW: for who is interested, I got a new G2x.
If i were u id post in the classified section, ud have more luck imo.

Hello. My wife dropped her S4 on concrete alittle over a month ago and has a crack on the top part of the phone. Everything was fine until today when she went to turn on her phone and the screen is black. Everything works as far as notifications, sounds, etc. even the touch works on the screen. I managed to go to a real dark room and barely see the screen enough to turn the brightness all the way up but the screen has a real pale white and some lines through it. Just wierd it started to act up today after she dropped it over a month ago. Does this mean the digitizer is faulty or is it something else? I attached a picture for you to see it.
It means the LCD is bad. The Digitizer is what detects touch. Best bet is to replace the whole screen and digitizer assembly. It's not cheap, but it is easy to do.

This is the one that I got. It comes complete and looks like a factory original. All the markings match the ones from the broken one I took off mine. It's not cheap, but it is easy.
Mobiletechvideos also has a service for screen replacement.

So all of a sudden tonight my knock on feature stopped working. Then I noticed that I have a dead spot on my screen as you can tell from the photo attachment. I have no warranty so sending it in to LG isn't an option. I've did some reading and can't seem to find if this is a software or hardware issue? Can anyone shed some light here? It's a D803 variant. Should I replace the digitizer or not? I need a working phone asap as I'm driving across the country next week.
Thanks

Had this problem as well along with many others. I do believe it is a hardware issue. As far as your method of repair, I'm not sure. I got mine replaced under warranty.

I appreciate your feedback. Went to my local repair shop today and they are gonna replace my LCD and digitizer for me on Monday. $100 charge to do it. I'm fine with that I need a working phone especially since I'm about to drive across the country. Here's to hoping.

So my wife dropped her phone...screen isn't cracked, I've got her using my old note 4 for now, but wanted opinions on what is going on and whether I can fix it or not.
Thanks!

The display ribbon cable might have gotten dislodged. Google ifixit. There should be a guide on how to open the device. See if you can re-attach the ribbon cable.

Cool, that's what I was thinking too, I'll give it a shot.

I had something similar happen. OLED screens can have this "bleeding" effect when dropped. Mine started off fine after a drop and progressed to unusable like that. I ordered a repair kit and a screen with frame and did the replacement myself. Just look on Amazon and make sure you get one that says it's made for our model: the frames are slightly different and the cable to connect the buttons near the bottom of the screen connects to a different place on the strip on the side. These words make more sense looking at the inside of the phone ;P
