It's said that Australia would receive the 4.1 OTA on July,19th 13:00(Australia Eastern Standard Time).(it's about half hour ago)
Is there anyone in Australia get OTA now?
Could anyone upload this OTA update pack?
thx...
There's a massive thread a few topics down. Just check in there. Once someone gets it, it'll more than likely go there. A quick search could have easily answered your question.
I heard in Australia, the toilet flushes counterclockwise.

Hi Guys,
Well I thought today was going to Jelly Bean in OZ, but it has been halted.
From Vodafone Australia Blog;
"Important news
We’ve just been advised that due to a software issue, the roll-out the of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to Vodafone Australia customers has been delayed.
It’s been advised the software currently does not meet all the Australian regulatory requirements related to emergency calls.
At this stage, we don’t have any further information on when the roll-out will resume, but as soon as we do, we’ll let you know here on the blog.
We thank you for your understanding and appreciate your patience at this time."
emergency calls? dialing doesn't work?i bet dialling does, the problem is probably call from the lockscreen. like if u never made an emergency call from the lockscreen or anywhere other than the dialer. that regulation is ridiculous, just like the political parties, no offence (to the regulation).

It actually does turn counterclockwise but not the toilet. Cause over there their toilet doesn't flush in a circular motion, they flush straight down. Amazing...and they have huge rabbits Oh wait...they are kangourou's and on top of that they get OTA before us !!
Closed, there is a HUGE JB thread, use that.

So this is less of a question and more of a thread to list the countries in which Gingerbread has been rolled out and is available using Kies (because for whatever reason perhaps you're not sure whether it should be working for you or not)
Please don't post to say that it's still not available, but just to post to say when you have found that it is available. Thanks.
To start the list, it's presumably available in Italy (as that's where the flash image that people are manually flashing came from) though if someone would like to confirm that would be good.
I also seem to remember someone saying that it was available in the Netherlands, but again a confirmation (or alternatively in this case a "no") would be useful.
Thanks
It's not available in the Netherlands.
Received in Denmark last week.

the intended purpose of this thread is so lardman and myself can find out what countries OTHER THAN our own have had it released, because samsung have been ignoring requests for source, we want to know where it is officially released. armed with this information alone is the only way we are going to get source

Ok, so that's two from the Netherlands. Are you guys sure it's Gingerbread (v 2.3.3 afaiu) and not a previous release (I know, but some people have got confused before)?
I just checked out and 100% no known new firmware in the netherlands
Again no gingerbread, only froyo on 24. 05. 2011 around 19.30 by kies and also checked by my friends at Samsung.

People are now saying june in forums
Getting fustrated
Samsung does this all the time, releases updates and then takes them back.
How about chainging the device to italian localization and rerouting data trough italian proxy? would we get the update downloaded then? Or do the servers give it to specific versions of tab or just by tracking the location of the impatient updater?

I would strongly advise against upgrading to 4.1.2 as there is a massive power drain when idle. I have made several tweaks and disabled a lot of apps, and in betterbatterystats there doesn't seem to be anything causing any problems... yet there is a 18% battery drain over 6 hours overnight!!
I'm gunna switch back to 4.1.1

I actually switched to 4.1.2 very soon after I got the phone, so don't remember much from the older version. Is there much battery drain on the 4.1.1 ?
UK Unbranded (BTU) is still on 4.1.1
All the UK carriers have updated the N7100 to 4.1.2 though.
Is all this applicable to the 7105 too - drain on 4.1.2 and carriers updating to it while unbranded not updated? mine says modified now so I dont know if theres an OTA or not.
Might wait for 4.2 anyway by the sound of it, nothing to be gained from 4.1.2, only worse battery.

My main concern is whilst idle.. Not many complaints about when in use, it's just the constant draining when my phone screen is "off"
It is soooo much hassle and effort for me to switch back to 4.1.1...... Is there any big improvements on 4.1.2 that i'll miss?

Unbranded, unlocked GT-7100 - bought from Samsung directly:
Just called Samsung Telephone Support - +44 (0)1932 454358 - polite but as useful as a chocolate teapot....
They said the only version available for the phone was 4.1.1 - I respond with a degree of conviction and anger that was not the case! I was fobbed off by "you should getting update shortly".......
Yes, Samsung - one way to piss your customer off is ignore them. Next time I will seriously think I will opt for a Nexus which can be relied upon to have the latest version of Android available quickly rather than months to wait....

Too right!!! people get so anal about updates, its not as though the 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 is that huge its even worth worrying about, at the same time I find it odd that carriers do the updates before manufacturers but hey ho!

I use my phone a lot for web, Facebook, Twitter, about half an hour to one hour of calls, 10 to 20 sms, a lot of whatsapp messages, and lately at least 2 hours of netflix series every night. Usually never drops to less than 20% when i go plug it.

The battery drain occurs when the phone is left alone for several hours. I don't notice any problems in general use
Note2 a premium device with a premium price...but definitely not a premium support..the main reason this update should have been pushed fast is because of the security hole and the sudden death bug..! Sod the extra features..! They could have at least released a bug fixed version of 4.1.1..??? Another question is why do samsung use the UK as a launch pad for latest phones and yet we are last to get support..????

Patience, guys. The rollout is happening in phases, and for now only 1% of two specific sales channels get the update. They are the guinea pigs, so to speak. Once everything is fine, the update will be approved for more users.

Germany, LTE Z2: Nothing. Tried OTA and Sony Companion; keeps on telling me x.55 is the latest version.
For all you Z2 WiFi jockeys eagerly waiting for x.55: It does NOT solve the touchscreen problems; in fact, my third Z2 with x.55 has far more touchscreen trouble than devices running x.36 - so you really didn't miss a thing.

This update has finally put to rest all the problems I had.
The previous update took care of the touchscreen issue to an extent.but I had problems in certain situations, like when it was docked, sometimes it would never wake up by double tapping.
Now in any orientation, and when docked, it always wakes up, everything now is fine.
BTW, I am LTE version.
So ive been asked by ZTE to setup a poll here to find out if EU users want this option for camera recording by the developers.
I was told by ZTE that the 60fps option did not bring a good effect to the phone and would be buggy so it was not put in whereas it was in the USA version.
After seeing if people want it, they may roll out an update to include it so lets get those votes in!
Just got news that 60fps is going to be added in!
How did you manage to contact someone at ZTE who's actually responsible for that stuff? The german Facebook page is utterly useless for anything but marketing. I'd love to get some info whether the bootloader unlock will be available in the EU, whether something will be done about the notification bell and if there are already plans regarding how long ZTE will support this phone with at least security patches..

I doubt anything can be done about the Notification Bell as it is part of their UI and it is up to ZTE heads themselves rather than the devs to get rid of it.
There are plans to support the phone with security patches in the EU as we have already got a B02 update and a B03 coming soon.

I fail to understand ZTEs update policy for EU. I was on b01 until I was able to find a A7 user in Germany, who was kind enough to post the b02 image on his Webserver for download. Why was this image not made available to ALL users via OTA?
How can I be sure, that b03 and future updates or sec.patches will be made available?
A selective approach for example per country doesn't make sense to me as the HW is the same all over Europe.
