Sup,
This site seems to have all stock firmwares, http://samsung-updates.com/.
I couldnt find my own stock firmware on this forum so i ended up there.
Thought i'd mention it.
There is also sammobile

hey guys, vibration on my phone no longer works, need to go back for warranty.
I wonder where can I get the stock rom, Virgin Australia.
Thanks
Use checkfus downloader.

what's that?
What's the difference between that and Odin?
It's a program for finding the proper stock firmware for your phone and carrier. You download from there and then use Odin to flash I believe. I have found downloaded my firmware from it but I haven't needed to flash it as of yet. So haven't looked closely at files.

I think you can find it through searching the development thread.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/
Just don't ask me how to use it. I haven't downloaded from that website for a year, and in that time the site has become completely unrecognisable.
Basically said it in the title. I have an Orange branded SIII (Orange splash screens) and would like to know if I can install a stock SIII ROM on it. I ask because:
A) The idea of having an Orange branded one irritates me (got it cheap on ebay)
B) Carrier-branded handsets get Android updates later (would this even help with that?)
If it is possible, could somebody provide me with a guide to finding the correct ROM and installing it? My phone is rooted with CWM.
Thanks
Hi I'd also like to know this but I'm not to keen on rooting just yet I just want to get away from bloatware and hope I can finally get Swapables working.
Cheers.

Yes. Just download the stock ROM you want (either using the files posted here or CheckFUS, which I find is faster) and flash it with Odin
There are already threads about this.

Sorry I did search but couldn't find anything.
I only asked as on the site I got the stock ROM from said not to flash to branded devices.
I'll give it a go anyway as I now know how to unbrick due to XDA.
I'll keep hunting.

Stock roms post flash stock rom for your location or as near a match to your current firmware version . No details given so no idea what it could be .

Root will be removed on flashing stock rom re root .

yes you can. but why not flash the latest LF6 ROM? it is the best one
So flashing from a branded ROM to an unbranded one will work fine?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
There are no hardware differences, only customizations in the ROM.
So yes, it will work just fine.
Sorry I meant firmware. Or, are roms and firmware the same thing?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Thats a tricky one to answer.
Firmware is a little more all encompassing than rom normally, usually not just including operating system but also baseband/modem software.
Generally speaking they are the same thing though.

But if I flashed from BVALE4 to XXALF2 (or any stock, unbranded firmware) it will work fine, yeah?

Hey guys.
Had some great advice in some of my other questions and I thank everyone who posted. Everything always helps.
Just before I do this, as I've been informed that you can't go back to 4.3 after updating bootloader to 4.4.2.
Which would be the latest 4.4.2 firmware I should flash for N9005 in Australia? I then want to flash custom roms like Xnote etc. Knox will be triggered after I flash a custom recovery am I right?
Thanks guys. As far as I can see NC3 is the latest.

Oh ok cool thank you.
Thing is what if I was to flash the Netherlands firmware, will I still be able to use it stock if I wish in Australia? I'll probably go straight to custom rom but just seeing. I'm worried if I flash a certain countries firmware I'll brick my device...

no u won't brick, as long as u choose the correct firmware for your device.
and do a proper step by ODIN PC.
btw, u open 2 similar threads ?
Yeah I know, just trying to get more info. As a thread gets seen once, it's forgotten about pretty quickly and not many people get to see it, or have the opportunity to comment. especially in the q&a section.

Another thing I wanted to check was if I flashed ND3...can use like NB7 or NB3 or any earlier 4.4.2 rom?? Custom obviously? Heard some scary things if you go back...maybe that's to a non-knox firmware...
Thanks!!

You can flash other (earlier) 4.4.2 roms but you can`t downgrade to a 4.3 rom afaik
Oh cool. That's fine then. All these have open MSCs right? So I could technically use it stock? There will be an English option? I mean if it's all on there I don't know why Samsung doesn't release it at a faster rate, ir more at once... If indeed it works fine. I'll probably change straight away to a custom rom but still, it'd be nice to see what vanilla kit kit is like.

I'm looking for official firmware before I start making changes to software of my tablet. I have checked Sammobile.com, Samsung-file.com, and have done a Google search.

Are you on the latest firmware?
Edit- never mind. According to samsungs open source you only have one firmware version. Was gonna say if youre not on the latest you could extract it from kies
