need stock rom for warrant - Galaxy S I9000 General

hey guys, vibration on my phone no longer works, need to go back for warranty.
I wonder where can I get the stock rom, Virgin Australia.
Thanks

Use checkfus downloader.

what's that?
What's the difference between that and Odin?

It's a program for finding the proper stock firmware for your phone and carrier. You download from there and then use Odin to flash I believe. I have found downloaded my firmware from it but I haven't needed to flash it as of yet. So haven't looked closely at files.

Thanks for this, useful for when I'll be selling this phone for the gs3.

Galaxy S2 2.3.4 firmware

What is the easiest way to install 2.3.4 version or newer to my Galaxy S2 4G current is 2.3.3. I will be using it in Canada.. Thanks
Official way: Check if KIES is offering you a firmware
Unofficial way: You can download the firmware from the Dev section Stock or Custom and then flash it using Odin
Stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Also explains how to flash. Please read how to flash and DO SELECT only what is given. Selecing PIT in ODIN leads to BRICK and unusable
Thanks for the info!!! If I do update it will put everything to normal right and it will unroot the phone?

Don't understand the 'put everything to normal' part but after flashing any ROM you will lose root. Need to re root.
Regards.

Thats fine no too worry about root normal i meant everything will go back to stock or factory state condition. That triangle will go away too right after flashing the rom? thanks for your quick response
If you use one of the stock roms there is no yellow triangle. You wont see carrier animation on boot, but that is a good thing in my opinion. It's as if you bought an unlocked phone not tied to a network.

I wonder if this court injunction by apple will slow the rollout of v2.3.4 to the rest of Europe, I hope not i am sick of waiting as it is.
So just odin right? Not sure which stock rom I can use with it been searching around here and seen so many of them.

P7500 UK stock firmware

Hi
I have a P7500 UK unlocked and unbranded tab on fw 3.1 and just wanted to know which stock firmware I should grab and where do I get it
This is the one I've found but not sure if its right "P7500XXKI1"
Just checked the Baseband on my tab and its P700BUH1
Sorry meant P7500BUKH1
Flash this IMHO: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1348533

I understand what your saying but dont I need my stock firmware to use these and I cant make a back up as the tab is already rooted so all i would be doing is making a backup with the root still on
I need the stock rom so I can restore the phone to before it was rooted and CWM was installed
The problem I have is I need to unroot it so I can send it back to Samsung for repair
So I need a stock rom and wouldn't making a backup with nandroid just back it up as it is now rooted
Its unlocked but think it was on Vodafone as the stock rom is P7500BUKH1 but I was wondering what would happen if I restored it with this P7500XXKI1 Open Europe
Just been advised to flash this firmware P7500XEUKH3 because they think this is for UK tabs is there anyway of finding out
Product Code: GT-P7500UWDXEU
Latest firmware: P7500XWKHD/P7500XEUKH3/P7500XWKG1/P7500XWKHD

Mobile Odin now Supports the Galaxy Tab 7.7

Mobile OdIn by Chainfire now has support for the P6800 and P6810. Just a heads up for P6800 and 6810 owners.. Let the mobile flashing begin..!
Now we need some roms.. Lol

im noob for samsung, what is mobile odin?
Good news. Thx.
The problem is that it can't operate. It tells me that there is unexpected partition and shuts down. ):
I saw that too and contacted Chainfire and he resolved the issue.. there is a new build and it does not report any error on my device.. As always use @ your own risk..!
Will we be able to flash ROM's with CWM anytime soon ?
I'm used to that using my Note, ODIN seems more technical (need to know what ur doing)
So if some cook decided to build a custom ROM , would be be able to flash via (mobile) ODIN, and/or CWM?
Odin support since I bought my tab last week. Been using it already to flash Australia firmware ;-)

Assuming CWN works correctly you will be able to flash as soon as someone releases a rom.
As for Odin being to "technical", If you do NOT know how to use odin, then you should NOT be modding your device. Odin is a simple click, add the file, press start. How hard is that?
Not everything can be spoon fed.
Edit: Also why is this in development? Should be in general.
My sincere thanks to you for your first line, the answer.

what do you do after mobile Odin has downloaded a dump file to make device compatable???
Chainfire has already done the work to make Mobile Odin work with P6800/6810. If you're using mobile odin lite, you need to download the flash kernel manually from chainfire's thread. The paid version from market should do this automatically.
i've tried both technic to flash mine.. mobile odin pro just made my device went to loop booting. then i used odin 1.85 rev. 3 for wwindows which made my device alive again..
Sent from my GT-P6800 using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
Since it was updated to support the p6800 I have never used Odin on my laptops/desktops again, and haven't had any issues flashing from the device with mobile Odin. You should check to make sure everything is set correctly and you have the flash kernel loaded properly..

Gt-i9000M Help (Updated for new question)

I just got a used SGS off of my local classified ads to replace my little galaxy gio, and I have already successfully rooted it and removed 35mb of bloatware. I now want to flash a custom recovery to it and get rolling with custom roms. Except it is the M version. I can flash my galaxy gio with any roms and recoveries because thy are so close. So I am wondering if the same applies here. Can I flash any i9000 Rom and recovery on my i9000m?
New Question:
Why is it that when i flash a new kernel, i automatically get a new CWM? On my galaxy gio, i could keep my custom recovery from rom to rom, kernel to kernel etc.
Are there any kernels that leave the recovery alone?

Yes, it is basically the same phone. Just don't flash anything that is i9000B (Brazil I believe, as that is different). E.g. I am currently trying ICS333 2.0.1 with semaphore 1.2 kernel.
I think only difference is the modem: )So, yes.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Sounds like you're in Canada like I am. To make sure your cell coverage is still strong just flash your modem and csc back to kg3 by using odin. You can use any pda you like as long as it is for I9000 or I9000m. This is a great resource I use for firmware.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14273101
Sounds like you've already made it that far but what I always do is flash my modem and csc in odin after I install a custom rom. The bell Canada firmware is in the above link under north America 2.3.3. Just extract the files and use only the modem and csc.

Just flash custom kernel and you will have root, recovery etc.Look at dev section. Cf root, Semaphore, Speedmod...Choose what you want

Is it possible to install a stock ROM on my Orange branded SIII?

Basically said it in the title. I have an Orange branded SIII (Orange splash screens) and would like to know if I can install a stock SIII ROM on it. I ask because:
A) The idea of having an Orange branded one irritates me (got it cheap on ebay)
B) Carrier-branded handsets get Android updates later (would this even help with that?)
If it is possible, could somebody provide me with a guide to finding the correct ROM and installing it? My phone is rooted with CWM.
Thanks
Hi I'd also like to know this but I'm not to keen on rooting just yet I just want to get away from bloatware and hope I can finally get Swapables working.
Cheers.

Yes. Just download the stock ROM you want (either using the files posted here or CheckFUS, which I find is faster) and flash it with Odin
There are already threads about this.

Sorry I did search but couldn't find anything.
I only asked as on the site I got the stock ROM from said not to flash to branded devices.
I'll give it a go anyway as I now know how to unbrick due to XDA.
I'll keep hunting.

yes you can. but why not flash the latest LF6 ROM? it is the best one
So flashing from a branded ROM to an unbranded one will work fine?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
There are no hardware differences, only customizations in the ROM.
So yes, it will work just fine.
Sorry I meant firmware. Or, are roms and firmware the same thing?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Thats a tricky one to answer.
Firmware is a little more all encompassing than rom normally, usually not just including operating system but also baseband/modem software.
Generally speaking they are the same thing though.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
But if I flashed from BVALE4 to XXALF2 (or any stock, unbranded firmware) it will work fine, yeah?
