If it's hardbrick and you are under warranty, then you will have to use your warranty and they will either replace your phone or give you a new motherboard.
so do you know the cost?? i have one more samsung galaxy note with a dangerous kernel , what i have to do ?
read the stickies in the forum. they really describe the problem in detail.

Hi all! 1st post here
I tried to flash the new 2.2 firmware yesterday, but something went wrong...
I have now tried to hard reset it from Recovery mode (Vol Up+Home+Power).
I tried cache wipe and factory reset first, and the update.zip option as well.
No matter what I do, the phone boots, shows the "S" logo for a while, but then the screen gets black. I can't even tell if the phone is on or off...
What's the matter?! I'm at work so I can't re-flash it with Odin...
Any suggestions on this? Please don't tell me it's bricked
Have a good one!
EDIT: The phone is ON now, because the Back and Menu buttons are lit. But the screen remains black and the phone seems unresponsive.
I am having this same problem, I flashed to JP3 and it worked however when I flashed back to JM2 I have this exact same problem, it looks as the flash goes through completely however it doesnt work.
I have flashed, and reflashed, using previous firmwares, restarted my computer, reflashed again, flashed with repartition box checked, flashed with repartition box unchecked,.... all seem to produce the same results,... after flash the phone goes straight into recovery mode... is this normal>??? I am unable to run update.zip, the phone says
Cant open /sdcard/update.zip
(no such file or directory)
installation aborted
Booted into recovery mode and did a factory reset however still boots to a black screen.
Reflash the phone in download mode just produces the same results.... im lost
Update: So I restarted my computer, and went through with the flash, after the phone reboots, it automatically goes to the recovery menu with this error:
update media, please wait
E:Cant Mount /dev/block/stl10
(invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media:cant mount DBDATA
your storage is not prepared yet, please use UI menu for format and reboot actions.
Copy default media content failed
Now at this screen I just select reboot phone.
help please...
hi,
don't panic, it appened to me 4 or 5 times already,
i solved the problem instaling samsung recovery system ver 3 <3e> the e means europe "in my case".
for that i flashed with JP3 "froyo 2.2" and pit 513 because android 2.1 has SRS v2 and dont let us solve the repartition problem, after the SRS pops i selected the option "flash sd card" and after that selectet option reboot "or restart i dont remember" and voila.
if you have any Q? just ask i will try to help
ps: you have to wipe data e wipe partition and format memory and at the end reboot

Hi I got the same problem so I flashed with pit 513 but there is no "Flash SD card" option, there is only format internal sd card option and it gives "can't mount sd card", can you give me some help?
did any of you install clockwork mod?
It seems like clockwork mod not deleting Dalvik Cache. If you didn't made that mistake like me then try UGJG8 Firmware with 512 pit.
Has anyone figured out a way to resolve this.
I am stuck with the same issue
Sorry for not replying earlier... I solved things by just re-flashing with some other firmware version...
Currently running JM5 with ~2200 score in Quadrant (with lagfix 1.8)
I have now had this happen after what seemed like a successful upgrade from the now officially released Froyo for the Bell I9000.
I am very sad but am hoping there is a way to fix this without losing my phone to Samsung for a month or more...
Any help is greatly appreciated and links to downloads are also very appreciated rather than just referring to something and not putting a link to it.
Thanks....
Never mind all...
I gave up and sent it back. I got a free loaner so not all bad...
Hi
I recently got my phone back from repair (damaged screen). Phone came completaly wiped as you can imagine but before it was sent away it was running on OCLF 2.0 by Ryanza...After I got it back ive noticed that there were some problems like notification bar got stuck, appz were very laggy etc..
I came to the conclusion that this is because of some partition corruption or sth.
I tried to update firmware via Odin but whatever i try it always fails before installing giving me that in the recovery mode:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/stl10
(invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_medua:Can't mount DBDATA:
I tried different Froyo version but it always downloads firmware from pc and fails just after that...(through Odin)
Recovery mode (3e) still works but i worry my partition structure may be damaged ...
Is there something else i can do to fix it??
Appreciate every help You can give me.
Try an eclair firmware and check repartition in odin. There are a bunch of threads in the q&a forum. Search for your error msg.
its very important that you use all 3 files, with repartition ticked, to get rid of these errors
I tried to repartition with both checked and unchecked....but will try to use eclair ...does using phone(modem) makes any difference?
managed to fix the problem flashing old JPC with 512 pit ...thx for help guys..appreciate it.
I tried to flash a rom and after the phone rebooted it says:
E:Cant mount /dev/block/stl10
(Invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount DBDATA:
Cant start phone or anything (
Reflash
That fails install stock rom via ODIN .
jje

Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App

Flash back to an stock Eclair 2.1 ROM like JM8 or JH2
then flash back to stock Froyo 2.2 of your choice
before you boot into the OS
go into Recovery Mode
select Format Internal SD
select wipe data
select wipe cache
select reboot
now it should work like normal

I've already tried it whit stock rom 2.2 and 2.3 from huawei page but on end i get error message failed update
before this stock roms works fine
I just think it can not be written to the correct partition
the stock rom can not do that, I realized even before this where I worked with 2 android systems I had to repeatedly use the tools of Geno
to install stock roms
(twosys-partition.zip) for install 2 systems
(offical-partition.zip) for 1 sysem like stock rom 2.3
I think there is something wrong with this partition 0p13
Maybe this would help create a new partition
how can I get access, and I do not know what format
Maybe there is a different solution
I am very grateful for any kind of help with my problem

Don't worry , its a easy fix..
I am assuming you have installed drivers for your phone on your comp..
Download the flashable Galaxy y duos stock rom - http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...y-duos-s6102-flashable-firmware-packages.html
Download odin 3.0.7 if your don't already have it
Guide to use odin to flash files to your phone - http://mobotechie.com/android/how-to-use-odin-to-flash-the-official-rom-ultimate-guide
