Not bragging, just a contrast. Also not trying to advocate. But, that said, i did an earnest Ota update, getting great results. No force closes, the few quirks that it has are no worse or more noticeable than any other ROM, screen flicker, touch errors etc, i don't expect everything to be perfect ( it is a man made device, nothing is perfect) but it is greatly improved.
ICS made the device responsive and customizable enough to forgive the dead pixels and the dust under my camera's lens. Happy with my decision to buy a tf101 instead of the 201.
Same. I am not getting my panties wet over ICS but I have no complaints.
No screen tearing/flickering, no battery drain, no force closes, no random reboots.
It's literally just as stable as it was before ICS.
I did do a factory reset before flashing the rooted ICS rom with CWM.
However, I did notice some lag and screen flickering immediately after upgrading.
Did a cold reboot and that seems to have fixed it.
Same with me. No problems with ICS. Everything just so so much better. Very very fast and smooth. I formatted the system in CWM as well as all the usual wipes (cache, dalvik etc) before I installed and that was almost two days ago now.
No issues. ICS rocks! The chrome browser is awesome also I must say. Its my default browser already even in beta.

love ICS, installation was smoth, everything works OK,
But I got two random reboots in two days - this is a mayor issue that hope will be fixed asap.
Happy overall.
+1... no problems here either ..
My TF has improved by at least a 100% from HC! .. and its not even custom roms yet! ..
couldn't be happier ...
everything is ok until now
Little pointless treahd but no i haven't had any problem with the OS it self.
No major issues
Well everything seems to be fast n responsive to me. Battery life has also noticeably improved. Was initially disappointed with stock browser and Chrome, but ICS Browser + solved the issue. Encountered a couple of FC's for Asus Task Manager, but otherwise is very good. Overall pretty happy camper here
I am satisfied with ICS, it was the main reason I got the TF101 2 weeks ago: I bought it in an offer from local Amazon with the intention of returning it in 30 days if ICS is not out or if the things promissed with it were not real, BUT:
I went with the full CWM update, no issues, no FC, no random reboots, no unusual battery drain, for now the only 2 problems seems to be a rare screen flicker once in a while (mostly occurring when trying Live wallpaper), and the non-working USB, but I don't care as I don't use it: I sync the files I need with a NAS storage and "ES File Manager". There is a zip that fix it, but I don't need it for now, waiting for revolver 4.
in general, I am 90% satisfied with ICS, while with HC I was less than 50% satisfied.
Update:
USB fixed, 91% satisfied now.
With ICS the Transformer is working like it shold have when its released. Im so happy that the "beta times" with Honeycomb are over.
Flashed the full stock Asus package via CWM with full wipe and had no reboots, flickering or FCs.
Best OS that my Transformer has ever seen.

No problems here... No reboots, no other quirks... I did an official ICS update and then rooted and Cwm... I have believe that is the crucial difference between those having problems and those not.

Am I allowed to post?
I have a couple of issues but I trust ASUS to issue further updates to handle them.
The last Honeycomb update seemed to cause some extra random hanging so I am glad to be off that.
Today I noticed one of my apps was hanging due to an unsupported operation exception. Bit annoying but the browser improvements alone are worth a temp problem in one or two apps.
For me its great. Much faster.
Hi guys , for me everything is fine except the sound ! The sound is lower than HC particularly in Skype, youtube, video etc. Notifications and games sound is good.
Has anyone similar problem ?
Big time sound loss!

Disagree with this post, as the threads have been a nonstop ***** and moan season for some on their problems.
This is a useful thread as if enough people write up in it that they have had little or no problems with the upgrade from the main ROMs used,
Then the Minority that do have problems can be rest assured that usually with the right advice... They can get a clean stable OS going..
+ 1 on mine.. No major problems.. If anything I am experiencing better picture/screen resolution..
Don't know why but it looks sharper and depth of color is a little better..
Tapatalk was grainy on the white background.. Now it's sharp..
Just streamed a 720 mkv off the LAN share and didn't miss a beat in MXplayer either.
-1 sound through speakers is lower.. But I am sure a fix well be presented shortly..

For now, all looks fine with ics. Tablet works as supposed to do .
But i lost CMW! How to restore? Please some suggestion, thanks!

Was experiencing freezing and reboots.
All gone after a wipe. Couldn't be better.
Not a single problem now...my steps in getting the update was...I Formatted...then used the Full update cwm zip. I did however notice a screen tear while on home screen pressing recent button...but since a reboot...it's gone. My tab has been on since Friday morning with no hiccups.

I believe this is key. I completely wiped and started from .13 and upgraded 3 times. Restored some apps with TB and all is well. Had 1 reboot but that was probably my fault.

I have found that Asus has put the governor modules to go from interactive when on to conservative when in deep sleep. This is what is causing the random DS issues. Reinstalled SetCPU and put governor to interactive to overuse Asus module and all is well.
Fine it is all sexy and all...But what about some serious improvements?
I don't mean adding features...I am talking about improvements..app drawer lag and stutter, scrolling through home pages stutter, lag sometimes while scrolling on the web page...and other minute issues that needed some ironing...
Any announcements on that??
Which phone do you use currently? I have a Desire HD and these issues are present because I'm not running JellyBean. Galaxy Nexus users said that JellyBean killed off all of these issues.
I'm having RAZr...Motorola sucks when it comes to updates..one of the biggest reasons I'm selling this phone off..
ICS..I turned JB, CM10...but lots many things aren't working....so came back to ICS...
Sent from my RaZr HD.
Typically when there are issues with "smoothness" performance in ICS/JB it's usually because hw composition isn't enabled on that phone, which is usually caused by the fact that the people who made CM for that particular phone can't get it to work on ICS/JB and without proper documentation can't hack in their own replacement for it.
Really not an issue under normal circumstances.

apparently in some countries Samsung started rolling out a small update. Anyone got it yet ? what are the changes ?
I hope to get it soon( Im from Estonia). I wanted to ask you, if you are experiencing any performance issue with your s3 after 4.1.1 update, cause i do. The phone has became so laggy and slow, though with 4.0.4 i did not experience those issues. Also im experiencing the battery drain. Dialer, contacts, gallery, settings open so much slower. Hoping to hear from you soon . Thanks
completely off topic, post in the help section
Am i the only one that has noticed some significant slowdowns in android 4.3 as opposed to 4.2.2? Even simple things like pulling down the notification bar or swiping between tabs in chrome have laggy animations now, which wasn't the case before.
Most will say it's just you. What ROM are you using?

Do a clean install and see if that helps. I've never experienced anything slow with this phone.

Ive never had anything else but stock rom on this phone, never even rooted it.
I'm on stock rooted 4.3 and it's significantly smoother. Haven't even bothered flashing anything else because I'm so satisfied, plus I wanted to experience stock awhile so I know what is what.

Mine felt that way for a day but seemed to really smooth out after a few reboots and time I believe it might be the way the new OS deals with the phones data just needs a bit of time to smooth itself out.
The OTA update has made my phone nothing but faster which is great because this phone was never even close to being slow in the first place.
i've been using Slimbean 4.3 Build 1 Alpha and its really smooth, only a couple of known bugs. Faster than Weekly 7.8.

Yes, I have the exact same issue as you. Driving me nuts. I'm running the stock rom but Faux kernel. Unfortunately, I don't recall if I had this issue prior to the kernel change. Going to try to revert back to stock kernel. If that doesn't help I'm going to re-flash from scratch. I flashed the OTA...maybe something went wrong.
UPDATE: I flashed back to the stock kernel and all lag in the animations are gone. Everything is silky smooth. I had tried different CPU governors in faux kernel before going back to stock but they all had the same lag. Odd though, I've never had performance issues with faux before.

Swiping down the notification panel is too glitchy. And also when I take screenshot, it slows down and I am not able to see the SC's animation.
It is noticeably slow for me. Even home screen animations are slow.
Any fix guys?

Try a clean flash of stock 4.3 ROM (JWR66V) since a lot of the custom ROMs are in the early stages of development. Maybe refrain from flashing a custom kernel until you experience 100% stock for a bit.
Totally stock and mine seems to be performing better than it was.

I tried than kanged
It did seem a littly off to me. I did a factory reset after receiving it ota but I couldn't do stock. Seemed like the phone got hotter quicker and touch responsiveness was a little slow also IMO

Weird.
Anyway, I'll see you @ snappy convenient store.
I am experiencing this too, but I am on Rasbean 4.3. For some reason compared to stoch, Rasbean feels choppy. IDK why because RAS is an amazing developer. I did a full wipe too anyone else experience this on 4.3 custom roms?

Just done what you have listed above and the answer is no; its not slower, at least my stock install. I don't have bugs like the weird black bar when selecting recently used apps
. I'll continue to monitor but for now its fine.
I experienced the same less than smooth performance as well. It got a little better in smoothness and less bugging out over time, but it may just be me getting acquainted with it and being a placebo.
This was from a factory image flash, but I may give it a go again if it continues to be a problem. I doubt it'll fix it.
Just got a new Nexus 4 (white) and updated it to 4.3... Smooth as N4 has always been... Completely stock

I'm sure it's just AOSP. Things will get smoothed out in the weeks to come, I'm sure.
This may or may not be a solution for everyone. It actually may not be a solution but a placebo effect for me. I have been having horrible redraws. Backing out of apps always redrawing nova launcher and sometimes backing into apps that it shouldn't be there. Was really starting to annoy me. Yesterday i had a thought that maybe it had something to do with bumping all the animations down to .5x and having everything moving so quickly. So I changed all animations to the 1x option and i have not had a redraw since. I mean the animations are obviously a tiny bit slower to show the actual animation, but it has made everything a lot smoother in my eyes. Again, could be happening now and soon I'll get back to the redraws, but so far it is working great.
Anyone with redraws all the time, let me know if you have your animations at .5x or not.
Not exactly what you're asking for, but I had a lot of redraw problems (and "Google App" crashes) in 5.0, and all of my animation settings were "off" (disabling animations is one of the first things I do to any new Android installation). They would go away for about a day if I rebooted, which meant I would reboot the phone about every other day. Phone was bone stock XT1095 using the stock launcher.
Now that I have installed the leaked 5.1 update I've passed 91 hours of uptime, and only had one strange launcher redraw issue. No "Google App" crashes at all. Seems to be much less clumsy when multitasking also.
Never had a homescreen redraw on Nova launcher prime.
I never did before 5.0 but it was all the time. Might just be an issue with 5.0 and I just haven't gotten it bad again since the animation switch.
I'm on Verizon so I have to wait for 5.1 from them. Glad to hear it seems to fix the issue.

Yeah I've tried this but it hasn't helped. On 4.4.4 it was amazing but 5.0 it's absolutely terrible! Multitasking is so incredibly slow I'm half tempted to get a new freaking phone.
I'm on AT&T so who knows when we'll actually get 5.1 but hopefully that solves the issues.

You're going to have this problem on every phone running Lollipop that isn't running 5.1, this isn't a problem exclusive to the Moto X. You could set up a tasker profile to reboot your phone everyday while you're asleep or if it means that much to you, you may want to look into downgrading back to KK.

Yeah I know which is making me think about downgrading, getting a different phone with 5.1 on it or saying **** it and going back to an iPhone (which honestly every generation I go back and forth because I like and hate things about both iOS and Android).
