How to change $25 credit to different account - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Did anyone else have an eager household member load their google account on to your new N7 before you could? I did, and now the $25 credit is in their account. Anyone know how to change? It's damn near impossible to reach Google Play on the phone today.

its not possible sorry

May I ask how you know this?

just make them give you 25/35 bucks depending if they got the wallet credit too.

Lol. Beat you to it?

Factory Reset your Nexus 7.
When it boots up and starts the wizard, log in using YOUR gmail.
You will receive the $25 credit.
Do this now before they close the loop hole.
You're welcome, now go tell whoever "beat you to it" to don't touch your ****.

Google Wallet Activation

When you activate google wallet, you get $10, can you use that $10 for apps?
i think that 10.00 credit goes into your back card you activated. Its not that you activate the google wallet. i think you get the credit for using the nfc for the first time at a brick and mortar retailer.
I COULD Be wrong . i have had google wallet since the switched my google merchant to it years of using google pay customer here as well as i have a pay pal debit/ credit card . never use your real cards online or even paying for a meal out to dinner .

i have the same question, or even if we can use it to buy anything online would be cool, i don't think i want to go to a 7 eleven with my huge tablet and pay with it!
I think I heard it's for NFC purchases only.
So, go to a Starbucks nearby and get yourself something.
How would that work. The nexus 7 is a WIFI only device, to use the Wallet app you need an internet connection.

That is correct. Tested wallet in two separate locations yesterday without being connected to WiFi. I freaked out a few cashiers. Lol

I can't add a new google prepay card... it's taken like 5 minutes of sitting doing nothing.
And mods: Can you please verify my account... I've been on for a long time, and this 5 minute restriction is really annoying...

$10 credit in Google Wallet?

Just curious if the 7 gets the $10 wallet credit other devices get as well.
The N7 gets $25 in credit upon activation.
Yes. I got it although it took a while to activate the prepaid card through Google. Eventually it worked though.

Actually...I signed into google wallet on my N7 (with the same Google credentials) and have a balance of $10 whereas my gnex has the balance from the 50 that I added of 32.XX. It appears to be two independent google wallet prepaid cards.

It's device specific, your Google account is only there for account protection. I have gotten the $10 credit on a Nexus S, VZW GNex, and a GSM Gnex

Yeah, that's kind of what I noticed too. Already had Wallet on my GS3 and the $10 prepaid card on that. Activated Wallet on my Nexus 7 just now and it appears to have it's own $10 prepaid card too. One odd thing did happen to me though: activating Wallet on my Nexus 7 appears to have deactivated my Citi card from my Wallet account on my GS3. Anyone else with similar experience?
i just have a quick question does the google wallet work even if you are not connected to wifi?
Yeah it does! Or it wouldn't be very useful would it

The google wallet app... it should be in your app drawer. When I launched it, it told me I could get the credit by signing up.

for Google Wallet in UK it says "This item cannot be installed in your device's country. "

Does the $25 credit expire?

As title states.... does it expire?
I only ask because im being picky about what i spend it on.....but don't want to lose it.
Thanks.
Assuming it acts like all other play store credit, it shouldn't. I seen no reason why it would.

Wow, thanks for showing us that. I was planning to just hold onto the credit for things that were really worth it, so it's good to know that there's an expiration.

Wait until they are selling off books for 1c each ?
PS I am getting sick of the dumb restrictions placed on posting, etc. by XDA. Sort yourselves out and stop being a damn nuisance. You're not big and you're not clever.
If not claimed it is subject to expiration

Will signing in on a new Nexus 7 give me more credit?

Just wondering if I bought a new Nexus 7 and signed in with the Google account I have done on my current one, will I got more credit? Or should I just use my secondary Google account?
Thanks

Yep. Credit is 1 per gmail account
So, on a related note, here's what I'm trying to figure out... Let's say you bought a Nexus 7 from Google Play, received and used some of the credit, and then return the tablet. Presumably, the credit is rescinded. But, suppose you've subsequently purchased a replacement Nexus 7. Is the credit reissued?
I'm in precisely this situation, and I'm looking forward to seeing what Google does. I have a feeling I'll end up losing the credit...
The credit is not rescinded as far as I know. I think I remember reading about this somewhere else.

If the original owner got the credit, do you feel you should get the credit also? Do you think Google should pay $25 every time a Nexus 7 changes hands?
