TF300TG: NvRmChannelSubmit failed - Transformer TF300T General

Hi!
I have the TF300TG, Stock ROM and I've installed the Galaxy on Fire 2 THD from the Tegra app.
First everything looks good but sometimes the screen starts flickering, the game don't respond anymore and in the logcat I got many lines with "NvRmChannelSubmit failed".
The only way to get out of this is killing the game and restarting the device. After that the game will run some time until the problem comes back.
Any hints?

Have you updated? I believe there was an issue in older ota there up too .30 now

Not for the 300TG. There is still .28 most recent.

It seems that the Prime and the TF700 have (had?) this problem, too:

Update: Firmware-Update to the new 9.4.4.40 did not help. And sometimes the Maps App also crashes when I enter a search. :crying:

weeping and gnashing of teeth to upgrade for dj30 to ea24

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this but I figured I'd post this experience I had trying to upgrade the firmware on my Sprint Galaxy tab so that other might benefit.
Here goes; I got a brand new galaxy tab with the dj30 firmware on it. I rooted it and did the wifi supplicants trip to get adhoc networks going. Nothing too strange. Then the system tried to auto updated itself to ea24 which I let it. But after I checked it it seems that the upgrade couldn't get through. This process would repeat itself on a regular basis.
I didn't think much about it until I heard that netflix could be played on certain android devices and I of course wanted to play it on my tab. I side loaded it, changed the system props and saw that it still couldn't play. My first attempt to load a custom rom(the ginger for gsm failed, yes I know they're incompatible)which bricked the phone. What then followed was an orgy of flashing anything vaguely related to the tab to get it to at least power on. The only thing that would work was the dj30 base image.
Now I'm back to square one except that my navigation system no longer works so I flash modem.bin from ea24 which fixed the gps. My tab tried to auto update itself to ea24 like it usually tries to do but this time SUCCESS!. Then two more ota updates came after that and worked just as well.
I think flashing the modem might have been what got the upgrade process going.
Sorry if this is a little long I just figured it might be useful to anyone in the same situation.
Can you Pls point me in the direction to get thus modem? I too am having this problem. [email protected]. Pls email it to me if you have. THANKS

Hey Cruton. Seems you and I are in the same position. I'm also stuck on DJ30. Managed to upgrade to rooted gingerbread, but market and browser fc no matter what I try. Your suggestion is something I haven't tried yet. Could you elaborate a bit more? I tried flashing modem.bin (from the EA24 updater) but it freezes up. Do I load it under "phone" in odin? Also, which version were you using?
Cruton. Thank you so much for going through the effort of posting your experience. You have saved my tab. I didn't know what to do anymore. Your trick worked, received all updates OTA and then I received gingerbread OTA. Everything stable and running after two weeks of trying absolutely everything (as I was in EXACTLY the same position as you, so you know how frustrating it is). I wish I could buy you a beer man. Thanks again.

I haven't had trouble with the market or the browser. I believe it was version 1.7 of Odin and I put modem.bin into the Phone section. Interestingly I had to repeat this entire process when the gingerbread update was out. I had to try 3 times with flashing modem.bin because it kept freezing up but it went through eventually. Good luck.

Gameloft games problem after downgrade to 3.1

kuno56 said:
Hi, I have a MZ601 3g Xoom (italian).
Tiamat 2.2.2 Moray was more unstable than the 3.1, for me.
I decided for a downgrade to my old stock 3.1 backup maked with ClockworkMod 4.0.0.4, but I was faced with serious problems with all gameloft games so.
All this games, even if downloaded from the beginning, after some time from running they reloaded the "load screen" or freezing and re-running more and more times during game play, as if they were still loading at startup.
I'm sick, what do you advise me to do?
Do I return to the stock with the fastboot procedure?
Is there no better way to repair the damage?

New Firmware Update 8.6.5.18-20111028

I just got this update today. I noticed a new market and an app called App Backup. Any other changes?
If this is a duplicate or doesn't belong here....then sorry and please delete.
Edit - cannot get App Backup to work successfully....multiple tries and nothing doing.
I am verifying the existence of the update and am downloading now.. hopefully this one fixes the deep sleep problem at the very least. Thanks for the heads uo sir!

It's new firmware for my TW sku. Seemed to fix the battery drain issue of docked tablet.

Downloading now. USA East.
App backup failed for me as well. Tried data only and app and data. Failed both times...
*Edit* Thanks to Sanderfox for posting the changes in Firmware Update (FOTA) changelog
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19046811&postcount=1066
Apart from the changes mentioned by @weaseltt the browser seems to be properly recognized with 'desktop' user agent string.
Seems to be all positive for now.. I docked mine and re-ran the update but there seems to be no update for the dock firmware.

I can download, but I am rooted so it fails. I wonder if Supercurios repacker would work to turn and Asus update into a clockwork update zip or if someone could repack the update to work with clockwork.

Market seems to work fine so far. The app backup has failed on four tries, however. Will investigate further.
Yes, got the update n HK......
I wonder if App Backup is prepping us for the upgrade to the TF2?
"allows user to backup apps and app data, then restore to another Asus tablet."
No update in Norway yet :-(

Absolutely, and it's brilliant. This kind of thought process is what has me hoping that they've managed to make the current dock compatible with the Prime as well.
Took quite a while to check for updates, and then came back saying no update is available. Servers must be getting hammered.

I'm not sure if anyone's noticed, but the browser seems much faster and responsive loading pages and typing on web pages. Before the lag was atrocious, but it's muuuuuch better now. Pages seem to load more quickly and scroll smoother. Can anyone else confirm?
I am rooted & I was able to download the update. However, the updates does start & the screen shows the file unpacking with the little Android dude. Then the the install fails. There is a triangle with an exclamation mark in the center with the Android dude. I am assuming that this means that the update failed. I am able to reboot thankfully. However how can I install the update?

[ironic-mode-on] Why at EVERY single update since May, users keep saying that "...default browser is much faster....input lag is almost null...very responsive...etc."? [ironic-mode-off]
P.S. I haven't received the update yet, so i did NOT tested it.

Maybe you have changed some system file and now the sanity check of the update fails. You have to wait until someone upload the update .zip file.

Can you copy 'dlpkgfile' out of /cache and post it on here please mate. Then I can mod it so you will be able to flash it and still keep root. The other devs could make use of this too.

I can't really speak for other users, but the stock browser is definitely working and responding faster for me. It could have something to do with the wifi being upgraded in this latest firmware or something they fixed with the browser, but it's definitely noticeable on my end since I use the tablet daily to surf the web. Also it used to take forever to type in text boxes on the stock browser and now for me it's almost instant. Also EVERY user experience is different (most likely since May), so ironic or not it's still a good thing for other users to report what they're experiencing with new firmware upgrades.

Nexus 7 not updating from 4.1.1 to 4.2

Hello! I have an unrooted N7 that is stuck with 4.1.1. I regularly get a notification advising me of an update & I run it through the process only to be discouraged to find I'm still stuck with 4.1.1.
Can anyone help? I don't want to root & do a bunch of crazy stuff to get the update. Is there a good fix without rooting?
FYI, I found a "fix" that required turning off WiFi, clearing the some of the systems cache, turning the WiFi back on & searching for an update. No dice...

If you have nothing to lose your best and easiest fix would most likely be to perform a factory reset.
Cheers

Try applying the update. When your tablet reboots and you see the Android on your screen, hold down the power button then, while holding it down, press volume up. That'll put the stock recovery in verbose mode. When it errors out, post what the text says here.
Similar thing here.

Yes, I wanted to say this. stay on 4.1.1 or 4.1.2,.... 4.2.x is a piece of crap. Much slower, not the same device at all.
Thanks for advice, then I tried not to update to 4.2 and be happy at stucked 4.1.2
finger crossed and wait for next stable version instead.

4.2.1 is pretty stable, stability is not the problem, but initially it broke a lot of apps compatibility (ok, this will be solved in time), but no matter what I do I have feeling it is slower, and it stutters. I never had this with 4.1.1 or 4.1.2. And I was so happy with my Nexus until 4.2 Anyways, I had 4.2 on my original Nexus, then it died and I sent for repairs, now I have new motherboard (so it counts as different device) and factory-installed 4.2 and it is the same. Even sometimes when playing a game it just stops for a split second... Trust me, new notifications and multi user (if you're not using it) is not worth the smoothness of 4.1.1
Cheers,
D.

Thanks for reply, I'm curious to know as why my N7 stuck at 4.1.2, there may be reason as I tried several times update (reboot and installed, stuck at 4.1.2) no matter how I tried) but I'm peace in mind as 4.1.2 stability.

Lag,stability Issues after finally OTA upgrading to Lollipop 5.0.1 from rooted 4.4.4

Hello guys.... this is one of my first posts here so go easy on me...
Trying to get to the bottom of an issue I'm experiencing on my Nexus 4 16GB after updating.
So I had been postponing updating to Lollipop for months... (was still on 4.4.4 stock cuz I didn't quite like the new UI) and decided to update Sunday (Aug 10th) morning. Big mistake, apparently.
The OTA 5.0.1 update made my phone become unstable, lag, and crash at random. Constantly get "X ins't responding", where X can be anything from Launcher to System UI to Chrome! Regular google apps are generally non-responsive and supper laggy.
For Ex: Can't open Play Store, the app tries to open but all I see is a white app window, same with Photos, or maps... ironically Whatsapp and certain other non-google apps are opening.
So I currently can't even use my N4 much, I'm trying to find out a what's causing this and if I need to revert the upgrade or flash a ROM or something,
My 4.4.4 was rooted FWIW, and now it's not. Not sure if it's helpful, but I have about 1.3GB free internal storage, and 1GB free memory when I run. So I don't think the issues are being caused by an app I installed or some service running wild. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Thanks. Yeah, this seems to have fixed it. Factory flashed it with the stock 5.0.1. Had to wipe it clean but a working phone is a working phone.
So it seems that if you're unlocked and rooted, you're shouldn't install OTA updates?
I read somewhere here (can't find the link rite now) that after 5.0, the OTA updates don't work right, if it detects the bootloader has been unlocked and/or you're rooted? Is this correct?

You might try upgrading to 5.1.1 LMY48I, it is all the bug fixes for 5.+, and should be more stable.
