Guess how much it really matters?
Yes its all legality blah blah, but lets face it. Moto has farred better with more users getting their hands on the update and vetting it than not. Should be more of a public affair.

Jelly bean is 4.1 not 5.0, the soak is probably JB but we haven't heard anything for certain.

No soak test filenames yet?

surprised this didn't mirror the normal Friday launches, or even the most recent (which was a long 5 days from announcement to OTA)

OTA!!!!!!!

This is for moto, verizon, and google we want official froyo. I think I speak for xda as a whole when I say this. So stop being mega douches and release it already before I get angry.(you wouldn't like me when I'm angry) lol

Yeah. This is a funny post

Damn right it will get it to us faster, unless they want me to hulk up and go up in the corporate headquarters and start smashing over priced smart phones. I hulk into a phone nerd. You have been warned. (key the dramatic music)
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
As I doubt this will get it to us any faster. This did bring a small chuckle on a rainy day so job well done.
FYI; Google around released Froyo update to Motorola, which released to Verizon, which they are testing for release bugs so it doesn't ruin to many customer phones at OTA launch like the other Froyo updates have done in the past. So its Verizon holding Froyo goodness from us...

Because its a beta and they want to experiment with it before going fully live. This has been going on a long time with Google products. Not to mention, the amount of demand makes the "product" be more worthy and more hype is created.

I'm not taking it that way. The guys excited to have root back. Can't fault anyone for that. I would be too. He even said he misses his EVO. Which I would greatly. Everytime I use my wifes photon I'm thankful for my EVO, even though its unrooted. The photon widgets are lame, not to mention there is hardly any (no clock, email or messaging widgets),no mobile data toggle,if your in 4g area it enables it to connect to data, the music app is plain Jane...I don't know..I'm not in anyway knocking the phone but just my opinion and only a comparison to what I have so don't take it the wrong way. If you love your photon, koodos. I for one have just grown accustomed to HTC I guess..

Not certain on the relevance of this thread.
IMHO, would have served more purpose had there been links providing more information or procedures to follow ... assuming of couse that such procedures weren't already covered in another thread - which would make this thread redundant.

This is an innappropriate tone to use and is disrespectful to fellow members. We receive numerous complaints that XDA has become a site where it is acceptable to be disrespectful and abusive. Moderators have been critized for attempting to be fair and lenient ... everyone has a bad day, right?
While on your week holiday, make time to improve your tone and attitude before returning to XDA; if this is unacceptable, please feel free to frequent another website - the Internet is full of them and easily located using a search engine such as Google.

Interesting - I went back to my email from Moto, clicked the link and it started exactly where your link started. Yesterday, it asked for a couple of screens of name, email, etc. Maybe it remembered me.

I'm not sure that's a completely fair description. Verizon did announce the update, after all. They evidently decided not to move forward with the update (for now) due to the bricked devices in the initial rollout, which some have suggested went out to more than just MFN folks who volunteered for soak tests.

My point was more that this thread exists already... Multiple times over. The soak members and only a handful of random IMEIs have received it. This is the way all moto soaks go. There were some issues discovered so they've halted it before general release for now.

Simple point, though. Big Red DID announce the soak, but left the hopeful throngs hanging while they silently pulled it. Also, maybe a little 'serves them right' as the faulty soak was shared and caused problems for the unintended. I've noted before on the loads of folks who have access to do things on/to their phones, but not the expertise, nor the self-control.
