Data woes?

hi everyone I use to have a samsung epic 4 g n switch to the htc evo 4 g I remember there being data issues are the data issues still present I will be trading for an epic tomorrow thank you

Anyways.... as for the OP... what data issues were you having.... which os were you on.... modem? Kernel? Rom? Root?...... rural area not getting coverage? I've always had an awesome experience with the Epic.... im sorry to here you switched to the evo (yuk) lol

Sorry, I may have conveyed what I originally intended to say very poorly. I have an evo right now. I had an epic the day it came out and had 3 lemons. I then returned the last epic and picked up an evo. I am coming back to the epic and remember there was data issues earlier, specifically network throttling. Thanks again.

Oh yeah we've had many modem and prl updates since the original release heck were dabling in the gingerbread cookie jar as of recently with two new modems that we're trying out.... 3G data speed seems pretty good for an average user....
I can't say much for 4G as there's no real control for that as far as no one(including me >:l )having it like we do 3G lol

Meh, 3g sucks for me, but i think thats just sprints' fault

I am having great data speeds on 4g. No complaints here. Also Wifi Tether speeds are twice as fast as my good friend's EVO. We use my Wifi Tether all of the time instead of his on our laptops.

The data issues as stated by a few others are intermittent, and generally a "sprint side" Issue when they do crop up.

Don't worry bout Rumprover up there in post 2, his kind is generally ignored for the most part as the grammar and punctuation Nazi's are a waste of rebuttal.
I have never figured out why they waste the energy to post such useless attacks.

I'm one of the new guys on the block. Wanted to say hi. I can't post in teh DEV section yet, which I guess is okay as I'm a noob. I want to first off extend a huge "Atta Boy" to GruesomeWolf and his crew. The SHOOTER RLS1 ROM is fantastic.
I also wanted to say thank you to the DEV's who actually broke the corporate choke hold and found the root exploit for our EVO 4G's. I just changed to sprint from Verizon. I hate big Red. They suck much ass.
I previously had a Moto Droid2 that I broke the bootloader on and flashed to Android 2.3.3 early. It was rooted, and it still sucked. I'm so much happier on my EVO.
So that was a little about me, just wanted to say hi and give thanks.

I switched from big red too a year ago. Was on that lg dare "iphone.killer".lmao

Now go enjoy your new rooted Evo 4g. Been happy with mine for over a year now and will be a little longer until something worth upgrading to come along.

Welcome to the forums! I took my evo in to sprint due to the charging port not working, had to unroot it to take it in, and then the guy updated it to 2.3.3 for me without me knowing. They just gave me a new charger for the charging issue and it started happening again a week later

Hi! Welcome. I'm new myself but have been lurking for a bit. Running MikG myself. It's great so far. When I first got my EVO I wasn't sure if I would root or not. Of course then the exploit came out and I couldn't resist.

How do I give "Thanks" to someone? I really want to extend a thanks to GW for this SHOOTER ROM. Its a little bugy, but none the less its so sweet its diabetic.
I'm loving my EVO 4G. Its the best phoen I have ever had.

Try to choose XDA 2010 mode instead of Classic. Should located at the very bottom on the left hand side.

I found it. I swear it was never there before but it is now.

New to rooting as well. XDA has just a wealth of knowledge and awesome developers. I am using Kinged Shooter 2.1 and so far it is it best ROM I have used.

2012 and I am a new Atrix4G owner

Pick up a free Atrix4g over the weekend. So far the increase in speed its just amazing over the Captivate. Hope it doesnt slow down as I slowly add back the apps. Love the finger swipe feature and enjoy using Tango with front facing camera for the first time.

Why not? When modded and set up the right way it is up to snuff with the latest and greatest devices that have been recently released.

to OP: welcome, unfortunately most people (myself included) don't like to see much clutter threads like this on the forum. take some time and read through the wealth of information you'll find here and people will be more than happy to help you if you run into issues along the way, provided you use the right avenues (i.e. posting Q&A in the Q&A forum, not the dev forum).

Yeah, for me it will need to have more RAM and be quad core. There are new phones coming out that still don't have 1gb of RAM and are hanging around that 1.2 dual core. My ATRIX is already OCed to 1.45.

Thanks for the warm welcome after the initiation. I am reading and researching to determine if I want to root my phone again. Just need to find a way to wifi tether and use Titanium backup.

This is true BUT seeing all these devices get fully working ICS is making me somewhat regret my decision. Though I am positive that once full sources are released, we should get that soon.
But no denying that hardware wise, the Atrix is a monster and just as good as anything else on the market (especially now since Darkside just got full HDMI Mirroring as well as Webtop over HDMI).

Where we all seem to hate each other one day, and like each other the next.
Lol, seriously though, I've been on the Atrix forums since day one of the Atrix release. I've never been a part of a community that was so....... temperamental.
Concerning WiFi Tether and Titanium backup --- those are all both pretty easy to get going... just refer to Swiftks N00B guide. He really did a great job with that thing. I find myself referring going back to it every once in a while.
Once you unlock bootloader ---- the Atrix becomes a whole different beast. You'll have so much to do, it's going to be nuts.

Great deal on a great phone. Buying at this time or receiving rather you didn't have to wait for development to take off like it has grats

Then I'm guessing the thread title made no sense to you either - they're all references to an amazing series of books that started with The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I highly recommend reading all of them - so much better than the movie
Or even better, try to find audio of the original radio broadcasts...

From what our friends who have moved on have reported, it seems like his entire family uses either a Gnex or an SGS3
Edit: I was being lazy and decided not to worry about a double post... they were automatically merged! Now I know why some posts have that "original message was at" message - very cool

Yep. The audio books are also great. They have sound effects and Adams' voice for Marvin is quite a chuckle.

just make sure you have the EPIC 4G with a physical keyboard before you flash anything from here.

Warm is a bit unstable but an awesome ROM.

Yeah we'll be doing Sense 3.6 as well as part of that. I am a part of that team.

AOSP>Sense anyway. Get some 4.1.1 love on that thing.

What might seem obvious could simply be an assumption - it is always better to ask than to assume, in case the details you base your assumption on were never even considered by the person about whom you are assuming

Lol NO ONE ASKED HIM ANYTHING! People assumed that he's retarded and doesn't know how to read forum titles lol getting at him as if he has an epic touch...why was that the first thought to cross peoples minds lol? I know we've had an influx of people coming to this forum from the e4gt, but that doesn't mean EVERY new guy is stupid lol if people are gonna assume at all it should be to assume he's in the place where he wants to be (are you too stupid to go to the correct forum? ) and if its determined he's in the wrong spot then allow him to bask in his stupidity lol
