Why the hell would you give up your epic 4G for a galaxy S3? It has no keyboard, which you all loved. Most of you won't see 4G till 6-9 months from now. By the time 4G LTE reaches your city, the galaxy S3 will probably be cheaper then it is now. Why upgrade and pay for a LTE phone, when you can't even use the service?

Even though it might seem like the devs love the keyboard for the Epic most probably don't use it as much as they thought they would have when they purchased the Epic. There's may Epic users who still don't have wimax 4g in their areas, with the dev to flasher ratio I doubt many devs have access to wimax 4g. So, Lte coming to them in the next couple of months why should they care. The devs might still work on the Epic if they decide not to trade it in.

high end phones just don't have HWKB's anymore. it's just a sad reality that we all have to deal with, and i say this as a KB lover.
my friends, who all came up with me on BB, SK and WM phones with KB's have all gone KB-less, and they miss it, but there are no good HWKB options...
it's a sad truth, and if by the end of the year there's no high end HWKB phones, i'll be joining them, either on the next nexus or next note.

I try typing on the screen with my epic just to see if I coukd get used to it or be faster, I just can't do it. On this nook on typing on right now it isn't too bad but I just need the tactile feel.
So I may never get rid of my epic.
On another point, rise things are huge. Its like the Guy I saw with a Samsung note looked like he had a tablet up to his head.

1. At the time of purchasing the Epic I was fond of the the keyboard, but I was also coming from a HTC Hero which was a much smaller phone. Since then I have grown used to the software keyboards and it's responsiveness. I have also grown annoyed with how bulky my phone is due to a hardware keyboard and how even bulkier it is when a case is put on it.
2. It's time to move on to a phone which will have a lot more developer support.
3. It's faster and better.
4. I live in San Antonio which is one of the very first areas to get LTE.

Most devs are absorbed into marketing, rather than true power behind the phone. Hence, 90% of developers that have Sprint work on the Evo.
The Galaxy S is heavily underestimated when it comes to great entertainment product.

Really? 4G is the network. Same reason it's an Epic 4G. 3D = 3 Dimensions, it's a 3D screen like 3D movies. They're not sequential version numbers like software, they're describing features of the phone in the name.

Unless theres a good amount of features that I cant live without or be able to install individually through ACS ROM, Ill stick with Froyo. No reason to make my phone more complicated with an entirely new upgrade.

I've been hearing the 3D isn't 'toggled' like the camera is. If something is in 3D it is displayed as such, and if not it is 2D. No toggle. Apparently. Heard no mention in the Wirefly review, which I found disappointing.

Really? Cause in the wirefly review he flicked on the 3D/2D switch multiple times which one did you watch lol? One ex: He started up the Spiderman game and said "let me turn on the 3D".
I only recall the switching of the camera toggle ... Did he toggle the display for the Spiderman ish? I just remember him launching it and closing out.
Thought it was also confirmed by Radioshack .. ?
Edit: he says "MAYBE I need to turn on the 3D" but doesn't comment on / show it in both. He is in and out though. And I thought that switch was specifically for the camera ... ?
I dunno. Read it on, I believe, good and evo and have seen it mentioned a few times since, elsewhere. But maybe it was a result if 'poor reporting' on G&E's part and people echoing it from there.

No dude he definitely flipped the switch about 4 times, I know it was boring but I actually watched the whole lame 8 minutes lol. Radioshack never knows whats going on.

He switches it when launching the Spiderman game and says "maybe I need to flip it," but doesnt confirm / elaborate. The other times he is flipping it he was doing so in regards to the camera, was he not? I never hear him specifically mention the toggle for the display apart from the comment upon launching the game

Capacitive buttons are much better. They don't wear down as easily as mechanical buttons and you can't get lint in them like physical buttons. The capacitive buttons on the Nexus S are a lot better than on the Epic so I would assume they would at least be just as good, if not better on the SGS2.

Well I finally got fed up with sprint since they decided to change our contract and charge me for the free line on my family share plan. I have switch over to Verizon and I now have a galaxy nexus. I just wanted to say buy and thanks to all the developers for all the hard work. This was a good community and everyone on here are great people. Especially swamp goblin and mobile_sensei. I still have my nexus s 4g so I can help with testing if anyone want me to help . If anyone have questions on rooting or anything like that feel free to pm me. Thanks again everyone.

I knew about it but I can't deal with sprints crappy ass network getting worse and making me pay more money on top of that. I'm very happy with my switch and loving my phone. Once sprint fixes those network issues I may come back but for now I'm food where am at.

i agree with u 100% , ive been considering the move too just havent really decided where to go yet.
Im seroiusly tempted to sell my sgs 3 at a loss that ive only had 2 weeks.
I want to get in before this thread gets locked.
I too am thinking of getting the 4S.5 lol. What a joke. The most valuable company on earth and all they can come up with is a stretched 4s.

If you dont like the sgs3 there are far better options from nokia, htc and maybe others than iphone 5 )
If Apple would have released that phone with that specs 1-2 years ago (apart from the a15), yea, it would make sense to consider buying it.
But it is way behind todays standards! And it supposedly is best of Apple for a year to come? )
Well, when I switch the GS3 for another phone, it'll have to be an upgrade, not a downgrade.. so why would I switch to the iPhone 5?
