There also isn't a zoom on the camera, which I just found out last night while using my g/f's. Some things just don't make sense.

I also got the nexus s and am loving it. For those complaining about notification led try noled app on the market. Works pretty well. Im still not sure if ill get the 3d just because of the size, I'm really enjouying the size of the nexus.

No need to phrase is like that.
Its a legitimate gripe with the device.
And it serves no logical purpose.
It honestly wouldn't surprise me if it was a mistake in the build order and then they just kept it that way...

No. You must flash a CDMA version if you want data/phone to work. Hopefully CM7 & MIUI show us some love in the not too distant future. Hell, I've been studying source all day trying to figure out how to port Amon-RA recovery over to NS4G.

Welcome aboard, themes and apps, general, q&a, and general are for either phone. The development section is split for 4g and the nexus s for obvious reasons. Congratulations on your move, I'm sure you'll be satisfied with the speed increase leaving sense behind among other things

Welcome to the forums Jacob. I came from the iPhone 2G to the 3G to the 3GS to the 4. I loved iPhones. I switched to the aria ans fell in love with android. I then went to the captivate then the Atrix. Loved android but the phones just didn't have that.... "spark" I was looking for. So I oredered the Nexus S. Ill never use another phone again. I'm a nexus user forever now. You'll not be displeased at all bro. These are THE android to own

sorry just vanilla android, which is what you have before all the manufacturers put the unneeded skin and fiddle with the frame works to make their phones different from one another(these same modification also hinder the speed up that their phones can be updated from each android release)
Its funny actually all these great developers here can get the source code the day its out make a almost fully functioning rom/port while these big name companies stumble around for god knows how long to make an update when they have full access to the drivers and such
While I will admit from froyo to gingerbread was nothing monumental in way of adding lots functionality but security updates those were needed(still waiting to use my nfc to buy sodas from teh coke machines in the mall though)

welcome, and you have definitely made a good choice, it will last you forever, or until some accident happens
this is the best phone you can get at the moment, with the most development going on around it
however the only shortcoming of this phone is the missing MicroSD support.

I had this phone on pre order since around the 25th of June, coming from a Galaxy Nexus to a phone from Samsung which I thought had a good history of not completely ruining their devices, and now hearing the news I have cancelled my order and will wait until this issue is bypassed/fixed. I will stay with my Galaxy Nexus which is completely open.

My phone has been running pretty great actually what issue was you referring too. Also i like the skins such as TOUCHWIZ and sense 4 it gives the phone character stock android just to plain for my taste.

Custom recovery doesn't mean custom kernel sir, Moto devices even the encypted ones have recoveries but they do not have custom kernels.

I never said issues I actually l like touchwiz somehow , doesn't look as nice as sense 4 but it has a lot features that I'm actually keeping this and no my galaxy nexus

You do realize that it most likely wasnt samsung's fault considering it was released globally and on all other US carriers unlocked.. So dont blame Samsung.. Blame your carrier.. Yes,the nexus is open but that's because it's a google device. I'm sure if Verizon could have locked that baby up they would have but I'm sure they had an agreement to keep it open if they were going to offer the device.
so you should change that to say because of "Verizons poor decisions"

To all epic4g devs upgrading to a GS3

Why the hell would you give up your epic 4G for a galaxy S3? It has no keyboard, which you all loved. Most of you won't see 4G till 6-9 months from now. By the time 4G LTE reaches your city, the galaxy S3 will probably be cheaper then it is now. Why upgrade and pay for a LTE phone, when you can't even use the service?

Even though it might seem like the devs love the keyboard for the Epic most probably don't use it as much as they thought they would have when they purchased the Epic. There's may Epic users who still don't have wimax 4g in their areas, with the dev to flasher ratio I doubt many devs have access to wimax 4g. So, Lte coming to them in the next couple of months why should they care. The devs might still work on the Epic if they decide not to trade it in.

high end phones just don't have HWKB's anymore. it's just a sad reality that we all have to deal with, and i say this as a KB lover.
my friends, who all came up with me on BB, SK and WM phones with KB's have all gone KB-less, and they miss it, but there are no good HWKB options...
it's a sad truth, and if by the end of the year there's no high end HWKB phones, i'll be joining them, either on the next nexus or next note.

I try typing on the screen with my epic just to see if I coukd get used to it or be faster, I just can't do it. On this nook on typing on right now it isn't too bad but I just need the tactile feel.
So I may never get rid of my epic.
On another point, rise things are huge. Its like the Guy I saw with a Samsung note looked like he had a tablet up to his head.

I've seen some Bluetooth keyboards for the iPhone and there is always the possibility of the newer high end phones getting a magnetic dock connector to hook up an external keyboard

1. At the time of purchasing the Epic I was fond of the the keyboard, but I was also coming from a HTC Hero which was a much smaller phone. Since then I have grown used to the software keyboards and it's responsiveness. I have also grown annoyed with how bulky my phone is due to a hardware keyboard and how even bulkier it is when a case is put on it.
2. It's time to move on to a phone which will have a lot more developer support.
3. It's faster and better.
4. I live in San Antonio which is one of the very first areas to get LTE.

Im seroiusly tempted to sell my sgs 3 at a loss that ive only had 2 weeks.

I too am thinking of getting the 4S.5 lol. What a joke. The most valuable company on earth and all they can come up with is a stretched 4s.

If you dont like the sgs3 there are far better options from nokia, htc and maybe others than iphone 5 )
If Apple would have released that phone with that specs 1-2 years ago (apart from the a15), yea, it would make sense to consider buying it.
But it is way behind todays standards! And it supposedly is best of Apple for a year to come? )
