Just use the same method you used to install gingerbread. But beware, official gingerbread has pretty severe bugs, like missing calls and what not... maybe try some other ROM, MIUI or CM7...

The method don't work. I got stuck on the unpacking screen. I have tried it without the battery as well and but then I got the update failed message. I have noticed the bootloader option when shutting down the phone, will this help me in anyway?
Thanx for the reply!!

[Q] Latest official ROM to use for debranding on wildfire?

hi all
i got 3 branded wildfire and want to debrand it, before i do, is this the latest official rom to use?
RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.25.405.1_Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35 .15.3
1_release_142189_signed.exe
i,m not bothered about rooting etc, just want stable unbranded phone
cheers
Thats Eclair. If you want FroYo, there are safe ROM's (With just the HBOOT Removed) on the Wildfire Android Development Forum. (2.22.405 and 2.25.720)
That apart, if you want to stick with Eclair, 1.37 is the latest one.
thanks for the reply
i,m not bothered about froyo yet as i,m sure that will be done automatically when times comes but for now i'll stick eclair.
is there a link or anything where i can get 1.37 to use for debranding similar to the 1.25 above.
cheers

Yes, that's the latest Eclair. But remember, if you do get Eclair, and then, get FroYo via the official OTA update, you will lose root capability.
It can be found here:

hi
thanks for getting back to me, ermm i,m not really bothered about root.
as long as the phone is stable and works perfectly i,m happy, but i do understand i have to use unrevoked 1st so i can use the above rom.

[Q] Rom/Kernel for U8800-51, AT&T Impulse 4G

I come from the HTC Incredible, just trying to help out a friend.
I successfully rooted his Impulse using super one click, and installed CWM recovery just fine for the U8800-51. Next I was planning on installing a custom ROM and kernel, but it appears there are none for the U8800-51 correct? Because it is just ever so slightly different that if you flash a U8800 ROM it can/will brick it.
I don't believe it's a "pro" because it still has the MSM7230 @ 800MHz.
So, question is, are there any that support the U8800-51? I've searched around, and didn't find any. So I assume there isn't. Just making sure I didn't miss anything. This Huawei is quite different from the HTC devices I'm used to.
There is no custom rom as of right now.. We have been discussing here

Alright, that's what I thought. Thanks for the reply.
I think he's going to go back to the store and exchange it for an HTC Inspire anyway.
Gingerbread For U8800-51
So, i flashed this rom update from Huawei, and it did not work (many have said this). A side-effect of this is that now, i cannot take it back or update to another rom, because i am unable to root this phone due to the e: drive not showing up when i go into recovery mode. Can anyone help with this??
I have:
ATT Impulse 4g aka U8800-51
Gingerbread 2.3.5 from Huawei
Thanks!

I found this copy of CM7 searching the web. It says its for the U8800pro, I've installed it on my U8800-51. Everything works so far but the only trouble I'm having is it reboots when I lock the screen??? Can anyone help? I'm not a developer, so if lamest terms can be used I would appreciate it. Also I take no credit for this ROM, credit goes to Genokolar.

To eliminate the random reboots u have to flash official U8800pro Gingerbread update, but u may lose 3G (im using MIUI 2.1.20 in my U8800-51, and in Chile with the U8800pro baseband we lose the 3G, dunno in USA, in Brazil they dont have this "bug").

Thank you.
Can you put a link up for the Gingerbread update for the U8800pro? Also, is this OK to use on U8800-51(AT&T Impulse 4G)? And would I just flash it like normal with CWM Recovery?

we are stuck for right now
all the AT&T phones (u8800-51) that tried gingerbread made a mistake.
there are many problems with it. network, wifi, bluetooth etc.
We are all waiting on a true u8800-51 root to take us to stock 2.2.2
there is one going around now but it is a non AT&T u8800pro rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1367633
lots of us are having the same problem, but it will be resolved soon.
So for right now just enjoy the beautiful yet useless ginger bread
and we will find an original u8800-51 Impluse 4g rom soon.

I flashed the rom you linked and you do not get 3G on the U8800-H1. I tried forcing 3G and it wouldn't work.

can you link me to the thread, or some procedures. How can I get back to the stock ?
thanks
If you install ice cream sandwich, there won't be any troubles because it's not an actual upgrade (in the sense that only /system dir and the kernel will change). Thus, you just have to flash the right sbf in order to go back to defy+ official android build.
Use RSD Lite to flash a sbf.

Direct Answer: You can go ahead and buy the Defy+.
You should be able to use Gingerbread with absolutely no problems. And there is no point in downgrading to Froyo.
And once, ICS is out, you may work with either Gingerbread or ICS.
PS: Motorola just released the entire source code for Gingerbread.

u8800 official rom installed to u8800pro

my friend has a u8800 pro phone. when i saw the phone, i guessed that it was a regular u8800. because in Turkey there is not any u8800pro available yet. one of chineese friend of my friend gave him a u8800pro as gift. it was 2.2 froyo and i tried to install offiicial b526 regular u8800 rom. it was successfully installed but wifi and bluetooth are not working because of the missing drivers. he tried to install official ics rom for pro version but he couldnt passed the step two. and also he tried to install official 2.3.5 and the same condition occured again. now the phone is running with u8800 b526 rom.
does anybody has advice for install official roms to u8800pro?
Install Official GB For U8800Pro Then Install ICS.
if you missing wifi ant BT, then you flashed wrong version (non pro), or your phone is non pro, and you flashed pro firmware
as i said before, also he tried to install official gb but he has not succeed. he didnt passed the step two installation
U Said He Tried To Install ICS Not GB. Install Official GB Then Install ICS.
please read carefully, "he tried to install official ics rom for pro version but he couldnt passed the step two. and also he tried to install official 2.3.5 and the same condition occured again"
it means, yes he tried to install offcial gb. but not succeed with the normal installation method
He shall try to install official GB with USB charger pluged in without battery.
I'm curious: what difference does this make?
