CPUSleeper just turns off 1/2/3 cores so I guess if you had a profile one setcpu it would just be that profile with 1 core. You can ask Eugene though to make sure.

Is qualcom qsd825 motherboard compatible with marvel 1.5 ghz tri core processor?
Please tell me I understood that wrong and you don't mean you want to replace the processor in the nexus. If I did understand that right, the answer is no, you can't put a tri core cpu,or any replacement cpu for that matter in the nexus.

I am nerdy enought to change my old qsd825 chip.
It ain't workin', man. Otherwise it would be much more common in these forums...
Well sure, if you had the disposable time, income, and know how, you could swap it.
But, afaik, you'd need to write an entirely new kernel, not to mention numerous other things.
But hell, this is xda, anything is possible

If you would've answered, I'm sure he would've been satisfied and closed the thread.
Anyways, set cpu is more straightforward and user friendly and I like it.
Oc widget gets the job done, but I feel it uses more power being a widget and all

I'm sure he found the awnser he was looking for as he never reposted. The reason this thread got erected is the fact theres multiple threads with the same question being asked if people searched before hand there wouldn't be this problem. The only reason a link wasn't posted before was the fact that I awnsered using my phone.

Hey everyone. Forgive me if this topic has already been posted or if this question has already been asked, but is there some sort of set cpu guide? I've searched through the forums but I couldn't find one. I'm not a noob by any means, but I'd like to learn a little more about it. Thank you.

I believe because of some of the limitations of the Galaxy S phones, profiles and advanced settings can't be used.

Yes, yes you can. You have to use interactive mode with JT's EC10 custom kernel though and don't go under 400mhz unless you really like pulling the battery.

Came across this, it says it only works on Adreno200 processors. Apparently it makes it so the CPU is not used for rendering but only the GPU. Have not tried it yet, making a nandroid backup now but will report back.
For now wanted to share in case some of you are interested in looking into it.

I remember this was in some sort of App Tweak released by someone. Don't remember who, but will it work if I'm on JB?

Not sure, I didnt see anything about having issues with JB/ICS. You could give it a shot, just make a backup first. I just flashed it, but havent done anything yet to really test it, I am at work.....
Well doesn't ICS/JB already do this when you disable HW overlay

Will this be heavy on the battery? I fear all time gpu rendering might use a lot of battery. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey guys.
Just seeing what would be the best kernel for sweet rom? Just want speed and snappy response. I mean, to tell you the truth, it's pretty dam fast in the stock kernel it comes with, just want more. Haha.
Thanks guys.

try them yourslef to see which performs best for you, every device reacts differently even with the same combo, so what works good for me wont necessarily work good for you.. now that being said i personally have had best results with lean kernel

Beast mode - Rage worked best well for me, lean kernel was a close 2nd from my benchmarking.

Sweet man thanks. Giving lean a try now. Doesn't feel as snappy as SneakyKat or the stock that sweet came with. Do you have any abnormal behaviour? Have you guys had any issues with screen rotation?
Thanks again!

Hope it's not a governor and here's me looking for a kernel called Rage! Haha.
