When I installed this ROM, it was smooth as butter. The only issue I had (a fairly big one) is that the Play Store had a server error, even after clearing dalvik, Market, and GP cache.
If you should encounter this issue, you will need to download the 04/29 gapps and flash it in CWM, then reboot.
I found this solution in the Galaxy Ace forum. The problem is that the Play Store does not prompt you to accept the Terms and Conditions, thereby rendering Play useless. I'm not sure everyone will have this issue, but heed this advice if you do. The combination of gapps and ROM is good for most, but will not always work.
thank you so much.. i was getting so stressed out, because i just started getting this error too.. couldnt find anything about this on the forum (came across your thread after doing a google search)..
again, thanks a lot.

Hi, Yesterday my play store updated, and now I'm unable to download apps from the play store. I get a message stating that "_____ could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0])" I have tried wiping cache and dalvik, and fix permissions. Does anyone have another idea for a solution? Also not sure if this is important or not, but running latest PA, with franco r121. I dont think it's kernel related though, I had the problem on trinity 113b as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Solved

Clear data in Play Store and in Google Framework Services, Reboot, and you should be good to go
Thank you it worked!
com.google.process.gapps keeps saying it has stopped. I flashed some gapps from goo manager because the play store kept crashing whenever I opened it and I thought it would fix the problem. Ive tried everything from clearing all the cash, clearing the data from all google apps... Nothing worked. It also seems to be a problem the network connection as the wifi bars are gray but not blue. I am able to load pages in chrome but for some reason the play store doesn't connect to the Internet. Help please !!!

I presume you use a custom rom, the best thing to do a full wipe and reflash the rom and gapps.

I figured out that GooManager gave me gapps for 4.2.1 so the process issue was fixed when I manually flashed and found gapps for 4.2.2 . Google play still continued to crash whenever I opened it so I went into the settings and uninstalled updates, that seems to also be fixed now but sadly I cannot use the nicer play store

Start over man.. just that simple and flash the right stuff... Also all you had to do was clear cache and data from Google Play...
So I was running Liquid 2.9, everything was fine no issues. Got the flash bug and flashed SlimRoms build 8. Full wiped and followed the ROMs installation guide. Everything went fine. Started to download apps from the play store and after one download, all the installs freeze. So thinking it was a bad flash possibly, I re-downloaded the rom, full wipe and flashed. Problem still persists. Went back to Liquid 2.9 where there weren't issues before. Same issue downloading apps. I've cleared cache and dalvik cache. Cleared data and cache from the app store and download manager and problem still persists. Any advice or help would be much appreciated, thanks guys and girls!
Edit: I am conneted to wifi, internet is working as I can browse, sync contacts, etc..

There's a couple of threads about people having trouble with the play store. Maybe your issue is similar. It might be worth checking out just in case.

I appreciate your service in policing the forums. I searched, all the threads I've seen have ended in the OP still looking for help and more specifically not much insight in the s4 recently. Tried most of what everyone in the other threads have said to no avail soo, I came here to ask for any additional help. Thank you for your advice, I will look harder.
Are you signed into hangouts or gtalk--think this is needed
Did you wipe System as part of your full wipe--I wipe all 3X
My last step is to format sd and start over--or if you have an sdcard backup of internal. Can you replace Android with your backup--not sure if any of this sdcard stuff will help though
Reflash gapps--don't know if I ever did that on a non--cm rom

There have been no real solutions other than to download hideman vpn app and have it connect then I haven't had an issue with any app downloading. I believe this is a play store issue. Not a phone issue.

Sorry man, but there's like six of these threads going on at the same time. It's hard to keep track of all of them. And you're right, there is no definitive answer other than it appears it's an issue on Google's end.
Some other ideas here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2089470
Or, try an older version of Play Store
Did notice another thread too--may be the Store. But, no harm trying other things--
I've tried everything I can think of to fix this issue (aside from factory reset, saving that as a last resort). I re-installed the Play Store, both modded and original versions. Cleared the Data and Cache after force stopping multiple times. I've cleared the Dalvik Cache and the Cache in recovery. Still nothing, tried using the Modded Play Store Installer to install a very old version of the play store, it won't even open.
Any help is much appreciated.
Update: While writing this post, Play Store 5.0.37 was released, and I installed it, the problem is still occurring. I'm pretty sure it's not a problem with the Play Store itself but another app acting upon it.

Downloading Play Store Modded is useless to me cause it can only do a few things before
I downloaded before and also same as you
So u need to use odin and flash stock ur phone to go back to normal play store version
Sent from my GT-I9505
Dude
Dude did you set your time into internet time if it wasnt set it to internet time cuz thats the problem or if you had root access then download root explorer and then find etc and find host then hold the host file and delete all the text there and put 127.0.0.1 localhost then save the changes and look at it and it just like your changing build .prop but your changing a host so follow it
I think the problem isn't from the play store because all the google apps are not working .
But did you used freedom or lucky patcher to mod the play store ??
If yes so i think if you had a backup the problem is solved if no so you need to make a software to your phone
After I rooted my device, play store apps wont install unless exit the play store, close the app and then reopen it. Then it will install them. I tried clearing data and cache for play store and google play services but issue still persists. Anyone know how to fix this? Everything is stock. Just rooted.
Same problem here... However,

I had the same problem and no really resolved it. In fact trying to resolved it racing through twrp, i deleted my system, so i was stuck for a whole night thinking i may not recover from this.. But i did, and i turned around and rooted again, no problems now.
I ended up reflashing the stock deodexed Rom and all is well now. Not sure what did that. But thanks for the response. :good:
