ICS 4.0.4
Hi there,
Bought recently a Haipai i9220, it came with an ICS 4.0.4, Kernel 3.0.13 dated June 4th. Build number ALPS.ICS.MP.V1.11
Works pretty well. There is one mystery though, in the "About phone menu" there is no "Update Firmware" option. How come ?

I heard that a lot of Chinese says that ZCLPJ has resolved the emmc bug, however, there is no official confirmation from Samsung.

the brick bug is still alive under 4.0.4 :crying:
At this point - Since Samsung took a previously safe device (I9100) and endangered it with XWLPM and XXLQ5.
Until further notice, assume all future Samsung ICS kernels are unsafe.

I saw that this afternoon too. But in the Engadget article he says they are pushing out to the git repos. What I found interesting was that Xoom got a taste of 4.0.4 today.
http://m.engadget.com/default/class...n-this-time-over-at-aosp/&icid=eng_latest_art
I was just about this post this! If xoom gets an update i am sure we tf101 users will also get one. Also Asus is still debugging the random reboots if we may believe grag
I thought part of the point of using version control systems and such (like git) was that it makes source updates quicker and easier to merge into existing stuff?
Will it be a lengthy process for existing AOSP ROMs to be updated to 4.0.4? I'm trying to avoid asking for an ETA, just wanna know, in the scheme of things, how much (or little) trouble it's going to be for those lovely devs.
if you are running AOKP then you shall have an update soon.

Who cares what Asus delivers at this point? We have AOKP now, and that is a million times better.
I'm sure we will have 4.0.4 via AOKP within a week. I already have it on my Galaxy Nexus

On my Galaxy Nexus there is a world of difference between former 4.0.3-based AOKP build and the current 4.0.4-based build. A. world. of. difference. Performance and smoothness is maddening.
Deep inside I know I'm being overly optimistic, but if we can any sort of improvement like that on our TF101s as well, I wont regret not waiting for the prime

What reboot problems? ASUS have not released official 4.0.4.
4.0.4 is in AOSP repo so only custom ROMs for TF101 will have 4.0.4 until ASUS releases a OTA.

I know I know. Like I said: I'm running it on my Nexus (updated that first) and there is a world of difference in performance between that and the former build.
Hoping for the same for my TF101
Well, i've been testing CM9 4.0.4 build for a day now, and i can't really tell the diference.
Even ran some benchs and the performance is about the same.
No reboots, but i never had then with CM9.
Maybe still work to be done.

Does it mean that ROMs like CM9 will start supporting everything like S-Pen, FM radio etc.,?
Or does it mean we will see slightly modified versions of stock roms. For example touchwiz removed, but swype there.

You are going to see a lot of different Roms once we have several safe custom kerenels.
CM9 will always remain lean and Samsung-free, but there'll be lots of CM9-based hybrid Roms catering for everybody's needs. Also, a lot of TW-based Roms.
I suspect that our Dev will soon start to look like SGS2 one:

As suspected, the N7000 ICS kernel is far from different from any i9100 iCS kernels !!!
I made comparison from all i91000 ICS kernels, and there were only slight diffs from "European" (called Open source : GT-I9100_ICS and GT-I9100P_ICS), with Korean Update 3 and Update 4.
The major changes came from i9100 Korean ICS update 5 !!!
This first N7000 ICS kernel is completely different from any previously quoted i9100 ICS kernels, including Korean ICS update 5 !!!

So does this mean this source is really old or maybe really new?
I hope kernel devs sees this and take into account: best feature of a kernel will be dual-boot mode, like siyah's kernel for SGS2 :X

Improvements maybe in performance and stability.XXUGMK6 has a wake up delay, and memory control is bad.
And I'm hoping that Sammy will give us a 3.4.X kernel....

In best case it will solve some random camera issues, and this is THE BEST CASE.

Well all they will do is upload a dump of the current kernel sources as they are in their repo, I don't expect anything else than a 3.0.y, pretty much the same we have now with maybe a few little changes, nothing huge anyway.
