PLEASE GIVE US WHATEVER YOU HAVE GOT!!!!!
Then,we can wait for a huge change in Custom kernels.
Latest source version of now, is I9300XXUGMK6
We may get source of I9300XXUGND5
I don't really understand , so what would this mean if we got the kernel source...would there be improvements in the kernels we have now?
*just curious*

Improvements maybe in performance and stability.XXUGMK6 has a wake up delay, and memory control is bad.
And I'm hoping that Sammy will give us a 3.4.X kernel....
I'm not good in English and developing, you may ask kernel developers for help.

Thanks.
Huge change? No.
In best case it will solve some random camera issues, and this is THE BEST CASE.
Of course I'll merge it when released, but don't expect anything huge.

Thank you! Wish it could improve something.
Well all they will do is upload a dump of the current kernel sources as they are in their repo, I don't expect anything else than a 3.0.y, pretty much the same we have now with maybe a few little changes, nothing huge anyway.
JP.
Will the new kernel only fix camera crash issues (talking exactly about the camera)?

Hey, I only just got the SIII so I'm not familiar with the way Samsung work with source code: are you saying they have no public git? There isn't one I can find, so will the aforementioned new code be listed here as a zip instead as "Update 14"?

Don't expect a 3.4, that would be a huge workload, and what would be the point from their perspektive ? Don't have too high hopes, you will get dissappointed.

I saw that this afternoon too. But in the Engadget article he says they are pushing out to the git repos. What I found interesting was that Xoom got a taste of 4.0.4 today.
http://m.engadget.com/default/class...n-this-time-over-at-aosp/&icid=eng_latest_art
I was just about this post this! If xoom gets an update i am sure we tf101 users will also get one. Also Asus is still debugging the random reboots if we may believe grag
I thought part of the point of using version control systems and such (like git) was that it makes source updates quicker and easier to merge into existing stuff?
Will it be a lengthy process for existing AOSP ROMs to be updated to 4.0.4? I'm trying to avoid asking for an ETA, just wanna know, in the scheme of things, how much (or little) trouble it's going to be for those lovely devs.
if you are running AOKP then you shall have an update soon.

I'm sure we will have 4.0.4 via AOKP within a week. I already have it on my Galaxy Nexus

On my Galaxy Nexus there is a world of difference between former 4.0.3-based AOKP build and the current 4.0.4-based build. A. world. of. difference. Performance and smoothness is maddening.
Deep inside I know I'm being overly optimistic, but if we can any sort of improvement like that on our TF101s as well, I wont regret not waiting for the prime

I know I know. Like I said: I'm running it on my Nexus (updated that first) and there is a world of difference in performance between that and the former build.
Hoping for the same for my TF101
Well, i've been testing CM9 4.0.4 build for a day now, and i can't really tell the diference.
Even ran some benchs and the performance is about the same.
No reboots, but i never had then with CM9.
Maybe still work to be done.

Bought recently a Haipai i9220, it came with an ICS 4.0.4, Kernel 3.0.13 dated June 4th. Build number ALPS.ICS.MP.V1.11
Works pretty well. There is one mystery though, in the "About phone menu" there is no "Update Firmware" option. How come ?

I recently heard that FXP will stop developing for the whole Xperia 2011 series, when just around the corner, Android 4.2 was standing with a bag of goodies, for which FXP has a valid reason, that these devices lack ram to support features of 4.2. I decided to build 4.2 from source for 2011 devices, for those who'd want to try out the latest version of android. I can handle compiling ROM. But need some help with kernel. if you can help out, or if you wanna be a part of the project. Leave a comment at this thread or PM me. After public release, Dev's can submit their patches / fixes for the ROM to that thread....
I do this because i don't want us to be stuck with stock based ROMs forever and because 4.2 looks awesome . All in all, Thankyou FXP for your work.
one thing that our xperia 2011 devices (especially neo/v ) lack is kernel developers ,we dont have linux 3.0 kernel which which would have made the user experience of JB 4.1 or 4.2 better , linux 3.0 supports many advanced features of JB ,but due to lack of these kernels our user experience will be incomplete , building & testing out these kernels will take hell of time and patience.
i hope this doesn't disappoint's any user or dev just a suggestion
linux 3.0 kernels would be awesome on our phones
i wish you all the best for taking such a great project

Ok so.. Half way through compiling it failed, because of low storage or something. I read up online and found out that I need atleast 30gigs for compiling, where as I only have around 15-20 free on my laptop, lol unlucky I guess.. So project delayed - until I get more storage for my pc or if someone compiles for me if I give them the sources (if want 4.2 faster). And as for the kernel, instead of building a kernel (which may take long). I'll be modifying the current JB kernel for 4.2

This new Android distribution treats development differently than any other.
CLICK HERE FOR THE ROM, THREAD, CHANGELOG, AND DISCUSSION.
A post detailing our team and new developers from TeamEOS can be found in the OP linked.
ntroducing codefireXperiment for your device! This OP is going to stay slim and bloat free, just like codefireXperiment. No marketing buzzwords either. We take such confidence in the speed and performance of this distribution, we challenge you to find a faster and more stable one!
Here's a bit of info you may want on this project for how we do things differently:
No features you don't need which slow the device down, or put your data at risk of being stolen. If you want to give it away, it should be your decision.
A fast and clean install with no UX decisions made for you. You make the ROM whatever you would like.
A team constantly exploring totally new feature sets and optimizations geared toward you, the user
We utilize a plethora of optimizations in a build system unlike any other:
Each build has a toolchain built for your device at the time of build. No more generic toolchain android builds.
Consistently updated upstream toolchain module source with our custom backports, fixes, and optimizations applied in a patch at build time.
Fully built utilizing Link Time Optimization (another custom ROM first). Feel free to google this one a bit to get an idea of the performance gain.
Many repositories have code fixes, cleanups, and many minor optimizations which are too generous to even speak of here.
Optimizations are toggled on and off based on device for the best experience we can acheive for your device without sacrificing any stability
Many Qcom optimizations and AOSP master (upstream) optimizations and fixes using device specifications to determine usage.
Fully built utilizing strict aliasing and isognu++11 mode.
Full "-O3" build. To those who don't know, this is the highest "optimization level" available in gcc that sets many other flags.
Enjoy, and thank you for choosing codefireXperiment

Yes I used the default kernel and coming from CM10.1 with a full wipe. I have to say I didn't experienced a reboot after all this afternoon so maybe it was just the ROM settling down.

What happens when you made that logcat? I'm not seeing any reboots? Hopefully you won't see such reboot again.

Nice ROM.
Voice to text isn't functioning... I was going to try the app install from the Slim ROM site, but I know that doesn't work with the CM kernel. I know it works with Max's.
Anyway, other than that it's been stable for me. Wifi tethering worked, Battery seemed good for only running it 24 hrs or so.

Now within 90 days CM will release Android 5.0 so we'll have to be patient for an official version otherwise beta builds should be out soon
and within days we will have a custom rom

i actually don't agree with cm on that, htc Samsung taking 90days is legitimate because they have tons of devices to maintain, but one plus only has one to maintain, it should take less time

You're right oneplus has one device, but its based on CyanogenMod but cm has to maintain as much devices as Samsung
90 days for cm12s release but much sooner for regular cm

Do we have a working OPO device tree for lollipop though? I don't think so.

Think he's saying that because it started rolling out last night (around 9 I think UK time?) and that people have been talking about it in the Development thread.
So I wouldn't say old news really but that's probably why he said it.

No we don't, but what does that even have to do with my post that you quoted?

Ok sorry for my confusing reply.... its because i have seen many posts about it so i think it is an old news. And i should not use old to describe it

Apart from Nexus(es) and Google Editions, no phones have a device tree specific for lollipop.
But, considering I came from a device which sources never got released (Galaxy S Advance) and devs was still able to build (not to port, to build) up to 4.4.4, that shouldn't be a problem
Just don't be in a hurry, first rule of XDA is NO ETA.
The manifest is still missing, and lots of the code is still 4.4 kitkat code..
There's still some time to go.
I just pray that our beloved Dev s can keep it or stop it rather from looking like apple os L

All that developers really have to do to port it to the OPO is to get the patches used in CM for the OPO and apply them to Lollipop. There may be some problems that will occur during the application of the patches, but that all can be fixed.
I'll be excited to see a port and to use it dual booting until OnePlus releases the firmware for the One.
I think we will get 5.0 this month, but not the CM version. I can remember that Oneplus posted a AOSP version for the One by themselves. So why shouldn't they publish a AOSP version of Lollipop?

They may do that. But we will more likely get an unofficial build much sooner than official AOSP/CM12S.
CM12 Nightlis will also come long time before CM12S

Because their official ROM is CyanogenMod. If they will release an official AOSP 5.0 a lot of people will stop using CM11s and that would create a legal issue. It's not like Touchwiz for Samsung or Sense for HTC, the rom in the opo is not their intellectual property., they just have the right to use it.
where is that 5.0? cant see it ages
