nice, but wouldn't we want JB source? :/ why would samsung release an older OS source? or is this usually how it is?

Didn't click on the link but I think the op has it wrong for 1, the note 2 always had jelly bean and 2, android 4.1 is jellybean, not ics

Jelly Bean Porting Project

Okay guyz there has been lots of discussion about jelly bean but were getting a bit late the s3 and one x has begun seeing alphas so we need to start making a porting team quickly

okay what we have now a porting guide from the galaxy nexus forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739561

The Team :
1-Mightyillidan
2-DQiB
3-
4-
5-
Oh c'mon, you don't need to organize a team especially if you're not a developer. Don't worry, there are people working on it right now, be patient.

If you are porting just for the heck of it do it and have fun.Having said that I would suggest you not to put your efforts in porting. Google is going to release source mid July, all your efforts will go waste in another 15 days. Wait for 15 days take the source and then build something for SII.
galaxy nexus rom is the most modified in coorperate with google and samsung!
if u see the lockscreen layout and the modifications from google, than gnexus rom is awesom

We can expect a fully working rom in mid July after the sources are out.
I guess I can wait two more weeks for JB on my GS2

Will take time as cm9 took to get fully functional
its better to work in a team and port instead of one doing it lol
following this steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739561 won't get it to boot
We REALLY don't need another topic for this do we? Be patient for goodness sakes. Advertise that you are looking for team members in the jellybean discussion thread, or use IRC to contact each other. Source is coming out soon, just wait.
Well Let´s hope that Jelly Bean is more similar to ics than ics was to gb..
I guess it is and therefore Cm10 will be booting soon.
Thread closed
No, we really don't need another thread, move this discussion here.

This has been posted before but untill we have working drivers for ICS we cant get JB to work on our devices, and even with drivers the Audio Hal has changed in JB so we might need to re-work it to ger sound. I sure we will have it on our devices but its a matter of time. Lets wait for source or the devs to get drivers for ICS.

[COLLABORATIVE DEV PROJECT] Port Jelly Bean to S Advance from Galaxy SIII Mini

Just like the Xpera U,P,Go & Sola I've also considered to make a Thread....for the Port Jelly Bean to Galaxy S Advance from Galaxy SIII Mini :fingers-crossed:
It's know that our Galaxy S Advance is a device with Novathor u8500 SoC chipset
and right now, i'm pretty sure that Samsung will provide Jelly Bean for our device next year. But, we also know that there out is a device with our same chipset and Jelly Bean at launch. Yes, i'm talking about Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini. I have been talking with some users on their forum and i think some information can help us to port jelly bean to our Galaxy S Advance
So, here are some files which can help us to make a working Jelly Bean Rom on our device:
1. I want to thanks nixonik member to provide a full system dump of SGSIIIMini in here System dump.
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-S6...d6cDVsb00/edit
2. Jelly Bean open source code for this rom, provided by Samsung.
in HERE http://d-h.st/c1n
Now that would be really great if some devs step up to initiate this.
You might get some More Info/Help at the Guys at Xperia U,Sola,P,Go threads

I want to write pm to you when i seen u post in sxp forum. I can do something if u want. I can write to maclaw from xda (galaxy gio/ace/mini) or bagnzor (galaxy ace2) to help us with jelly bean for our platform.
I think non of dev's will do this now, less then 1 month than rumor of official JB release.
Why to write about ace2 in s advance forum?

The SoC is NOT same. Sgsa and the mini have a different SoC. And port from xperia devices? It will take ages. Just wait for the official update!
I do not respond to tech support via PM
I've got it booted on my Xperia U (JB)
Xperia P,Sola,Go,U have got GSM,Wifi fixed
So if you got booted share your work, maybe someone will be able to fix existing problems with it. But you have to give details as well.

Because there is a JB AOKP project on Ace2 and both have the same SoC. With some small changes, roms could be easily swapped
so like when are you going to start your project...?

Again, I support Shaaan here because porting it and sit debugging it is not a good idea since JB is coming a way along
Just my 2 cents

Yeah. No one is.
so lets wait, wait and wait !!
Yeah, 4.1.2 is not that important, because we will get that update in a few weeks. But that will be the last android version update for our phone, and it will most probably be unsupported after that. The s3 mini will get more updates, 4.2, 5.0 maybe. Or more. And if we can port this, we may be able to port future roms from s3 mini, too. And that would be great.

In that case we would prefer building the ROM from source
I hate binary ports

Samsung released Jelly Bean kernel source code of GT-I9100

I would expect the official JB ROM/Kernel from the Galaxy Note to be quite helpful to build something for the tab...
