[Q] Help! Error message when using BandroidX recovery - Bravo General

I installed BandroidX on my Bravo (running Cyanogenmod 7.2), hit the bootstrap button, and then hit reboot recovery. The phone shows the red M and then the following error: "Err:a5,70,39,00,21." Can anyone help?

BandroidX Recovery is INCOMPATIBLE with CYANOGENMOD.
You're gonna have to flash the sbf, root, enable non market apps, and install DEFY 2ND-INIT RECOVERY.
As far as I know, BandroidX is only compatible with Stock and BravoX Roms.

brandoix procedure should eliminate as many people make mistakes and also is obsolete

Do not use BandroidX recovery for any rom except for BravoX (BravoX is a lightweight, deodexed stock rom). Use Defy 2nd-init -- Defy 2nd-init -- Defy 2nd-init.
Anyways, that's the screen to flash an sbf -- if its going there directly when you power up your phone and you're not pressing anything then your Bravo is in a semibrick state -- meaning the only fix is to flash the sbf and start over.
You just need to flash the sbf and install a proper recovery solution.
You only need to install Defy 2nd-init once (per sbf flash). Also, all custom roms on the Bravo come with Defy 2nd-init already installed so DO NOT INSTALL A CUSTOM RECOVERY ONCE YOU'RE RUNNING A CUSTOM ROM. Its pointless*.
*Unless you're testing some version of Touch recovery -- only recommended for advanced users.
Follow the directions in these two links and you'll be back in action in no time

Link to Defy 2nd-init thread
Once you get the hang of it you'll be able to go from sbf to custom rom in under 10 minutes and lol at yourself for being stuck with a simple problem. On my first week of having a Bravo I was stuck on boot at the red M. Couldn't figure out what was wrong. Tried everything I knew and ended up low battery bricking myself. Managed to get a charge and accessed the screen with an ! in the triangle and an andriod -- didn't know what to do on that screen -- got lucky and happened to hit both volume buttons and access stock recovery (took me 3 days to figure out how to access stock recovery btw), did a factory reset there and my Bravo was fully working again. Problem was I didn't factory reset before flashing CM7 when coming from stock...Also, Bravo's 3g was my only internet at the time.
Wow, after looking back I just realized how much I've learned in my 1.5 years with a Bravo. Gotta love XDA for all the knowledge you can obtain here.
/the Bolded crap isn't necessarily directed at you, just bolding it so it sticks out and hopefully helps someone else out -- I've answered questions similar to this and the solution is always "Don't use BandroidX Recovery"

[Q] defy+ - tried to install miui, didn't work

Hi Guys and Girls, I hope this is the right place for my question. Sorry if I sound like a 12-year old - my english is not really the best...
I own the Motorola Defy+, and I tried to get rid of motoblur. I installed SndInit 2.0, did a reboot, did a backup, did factory reset, wiped dalvik cache and picked the miui-rom I had previously placed on my SD. The installation went pretty good, my phone told me that it finished the installation and I did another reboot.
After the reboot I get the red M (default Motorola-logo just like before I was meddling around with the phone) but just for a very short period of time and then I get a black screen with white letters (slightly out of proportion) saying:
Bootloader
09.10
Err:A5,70,00,00,23
Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB
When I remove the USB-cable the last two lines are replaced by:
Connect USB
Data Cable
Do you guys have any idea, how I could get MIUI, CM or anything else running on my phone again? I'd even be quite happy to have the stockrom running again, since a phone with ****ty motoblur is still better than no phone at all.
I'd be really grateful for any kind of help, thanks in advance.
The miui you installed was for defy or defy+? And , can you access to recovery?
Motorola Defy CM7 RC 1.5 OC 1GHz
You have forgot to do 2 things. this might be the problem .
Do:
1. Factory reset.
2. wipe data cache.
3. wipe dalvik cache.
4.install MIUI rom.
5. wipe once again data cache.
6. reboot.
If you can access recovery again . my guess you can..
Thank you guys for taking care of me!!
@LeonardoJegigzem
The MIUI is called miui-ger_DEFY_1.12.23_FULL_EN_DE.zip - it's for Defy but I've read in forums that it should run on Defy+ aswell.
@VoLtrex31
I can't access recovery (I'm assuming you're talking about the "push volume-down when blue LED turns on"-recovery?), the screen I described in OP appears right after the red-M shows up for the first time.
You are right, I didn't wipe data cache neither before, nor after the installation.
Thats not good.
Search in the forums for how to access the recovery via your computer..
This might be your only way.
Ask more forums for technical help since xda is not the best forum for asking for help.
because i am not an expert .
But don't worry i bet many people got that problem too so there is a solution .
at last you have stock recovery(i think)
to access it (on defy) ress and hold VOL DOWN and power button.
Than after(about 10 sec) you'll get an exclamation mark.
Now press VOL UP and DOWN at the same time and you can wipe data.
If phone boots up perfectly yo can reinstall 2ndinit.
If not.. i think that you have to flash the appropriate sbf via rsd lite.

Now that's great news - the folks at motorola seem to know that ppl want to avoid ****ty motoblur and **** up their phones so they built an easy way to rescue broken phones.
I will try that asap - right now I'm using an old sony ericsson Xperia X8 - want my Defy+ back!
Thanks buruss!
Hi guy,I know about what you talking.
1. everytime i stuck on "white letters" i recovered my defy+ with RSDLite and correct SBF file.
2. If you have 2.3.6 version of stock rom, miui or any common cm7 won't work - afaik. You must downgrade (somewhere is topic about it) or use cm7.2 or cm9

Yea, I 've been through the same today/yesterday, and after a lot of cursing I can tell you it is exactly like this T.T you have to re-flash the stock ROM 2.3.6 again, and then if you find a way to downgrade/install Miui-CM/basically anything than staying with the stock ROM, let me know! xD
Just relax, I'm telling you this because yesterday I could have killed a dragon with my bare hands, but a soft brick is NP, as long as RSDlite recognizes your phone you can always going back to safety, from what I've learnt hard bricking a Defy is veryveryvery hard, thanks/due to a locked boot loader
Hey Guys, first let me thank you! I'm feeling quite happy now knowing that I'm not the only one with this kinda problem and I'll try the RSDlite-rescue-mission in a few days.
Happy new year everybody!

I guess it's inevitable, when you start trying this and that custom ROM, sooner or later you're going to screw it up xD but it's actually good when that happens, because you know 100% you can fix everything - you did it once, you'll do it again
Happy new year!
miui uses the 2.2 froyo as base, since all the defy plus have gingerbread miui wont boot, miui hve boot.img and davtree.img in the rom.zip, if you flashan old boot.img in to a newer defy plus with new bootloader(2.3.6) you get an error, ho to fix it, try deleting the boot.img and devtree.img from the zip and replace the 2.3.6 boot.img and devtree.img form 2.3.6 and add it to the zip( miui rom) and try to flash it again and see if it works
You guys are awesome! Phone is booting again
installed RSDlite 5.3.1
downloaded the latest .sbf for my phone and my provider
let RSDlite do its magic and now everything's working just fine.
Next thing to do - try again to get rid of motoblur!
It's not 100% true, I installed MIUI over my 2.3.4 Gingebread and it worked like a charm
Only problem is, I can't install it anymore now that I'm on 2.3.6, but 2.2 is not strictly needed, 2.3.4 worked as well
Hey, guys! I have the exact same problem. I tried to install a Galnet MIUI ROM over at galnetmiui.co.uk, and i messed it up. I didn't really know what i was doing. Perhaps i forgot to wipe cache after installation. Have the exact same error message as mikrokosmonaut.
I was running my mb 256 with android 2.3.6, as far as I know, i have to use RSD Lite to istall stock rom again. Where do I find the correct SBF? My phone was bought without a service provider subscribtion, so I have no clue where to find the right SBF. I have no objection against having blur on the phone.
Can anyone help?
hi guys!!
i've tried to install miui on my defy+ 2.3.6.. like i read on this thread i modified the .zip file changing the boot.img and devtree with the original one.
but mt defy can't boot.. stuck at motorola logo..
what can i do?? does anyone managed to install miui on a defy+ 2.3.6?
now i'm using cyanogen and it works fine, but i prefer miui
thanks!!

I don't think MIUI work on 2.3.6. you need CM7.2, or maybe some latest nightly version of MIUI

thanks for your reply! indeed i'm using cm 7.2.. it works pretty well, except some delays! never heard about miui nightly! i did a research on google but i couldn't find anything.. any idea??

hi again!
i was thinking.. you said miui shouldn't work on 2.3.6 and i guess you are right! so if i do the same thing i did (change the boot and devtree file in the latest miui.zip that is 2.3.7 if i'm not wrong) but using files from android 2.3.7?
maybe i try to explain myself better..
i make a nandroid backup of my cm 7.s2 which is 2.3.7.
then i change the files boot and devtree from cm 7.2 to the latest miui.
should it work? what do you think?
thanks again
Hi, folks! *GREAT NEWS!*
Some guys over at the devs section on the thread below have found a froyo sbf with bootloader 6 (the same as the defy 2.3.6 sbf)!!! This means we can use it to downgrade to froyo and install MIUI over it!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1486731
I haven't tried it yet, but will flash later today or tomorrow. You should read through some of the posts and decide for yourselves if you want to try or not.
All the best!

[Q] Stuck on Google logo, can't access recovery mode

I've just tried upgrading to ICS and failed. Apparently I flashed the wrong kernel - should have flashed the CM7 one, but flashed the CM9.
Now my Defy is stuck on the Google logo and I don't know how to reach recovery mode. Pressing Power+voldown does nothing. Power+volup gives me the bootloader, which asks me to connect a usb cable, but I have no idea what to do after that.
I have two Nandroid backups: one stock (2.2) and another with CM7 (2.3.7). My Defy has a green lens.
Is there any way to restore my phone to one of those backups?
Thanks in advance
Do you still see the blue led for custom recovery?

Do not flash any sbf's. Reboot the phone, at the blue led press Vol- and when you get into boot menu, flash the correct kernel. If you flashed Defy build, flash CM7 (Froyo) kernel. If you flashed the Defy+ build, flash CM9 (Bingerbread) kernel.

Ok, apparently I wasn't pressing the button at the right time. Recovery mode is now working. However, I don't have the correct kernel in my SD card - only the wrong one.
My Nandroid backup seems not to be working too, apparently. I went into recovery and restored it, but boot still doesn't work. I wiped data/cache/dalvik cache and tried again, but it still didn't work. I'm at a loss here.
Should I try to flash some other sbf, since I can't find my phone's stock one?

I just tried installing the zip from the sdcard, but I got an error message: "Can't make /tmp/update_binary. Installation aborted". It seems that I can't install any zip now.
Is there any way out of that? I'd be more than happy if I could just flash my nandroid backup, even if that means being stuck without ICS for a bit more time.
I'm on ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.1.8, if that helps.

Hi,
I faced a similar issue but it was since I flashed CM9 for Defy in my Defy+ with 2.3.6(stock) ! Nothing was working and I would get some boot errors! I rectified it by flashing full SBF and then rooting. Well if you want I can provide you with the SBF I have but it is for 2.3.6 and so you will loose downgradability. I have 4.5.1-134-DFP-1321 - retail-asia full Blur multilanguage with me. However, you can also give Walter's fixed SBF and Nandroid backup a try
Thanks, it turns out that flashing a sbf was a nice way out of this mess. I flashed a 2.2.2 which is almost identical to my stock rom (couldn't find that one).
If I root my phone now, can I still try to restore my nandroid backup? Or should I just skip that and try flashing ICS again?
My SD card has the 03-19 CM9 Nightly, gapps and both CM9 and CM7 signed kernels. Should that suffice? CM7 kernel is the right one for green lens defy, right?

If you are on a green lensed Defy, then yes - flash CM7 signed kernel and one of the Froyo bulds of Quarx or Epsylon3 - try them all if you wish and see which one you like the most.
Procedure is easy:
1. Full wipe
2. Flash CM7 kernel
3. Flash ROM
4. Flash gapps
5. Full Wipe
6. Reboot
When you decide to try a new ROM, there is no need to flash the kernel again, just wipe, flash the new ROM and gapps and then wipe again.

Thanks, that's great. Are all regular Defy roms Froyo builds unless stated otherwise? I couldn't find that info on the files I have.
One question: by full wipe you mean data/cache/dalvik cache or is there anything else that I'm missing?

Sounds great Well since CM9 nightly is still a long way to go, you may want to dual boot CM7 and CM9. Install CM7 as primary and dual boot to CM9.

Red or Green Lens? Defy or Defy+?
If Red Lens then you can use Defy or Defy+ build straight from Froyo after installing 2nd init.
If Red Lens Defy with Defy+ build, you will need a battery fix
If Red Lens Defy with Defy build, nothing else needs to be installed
If Green Lens Defy, you can only use Defy build. Nothing else needs to be installed.
If Defy+ You can only use defy build, nothing else needs to be installed.

I believe that little android guy is the stock recovery. From what I remember you hold both volume buttons and it takes you into stock recovery.
Unfortunately, you will no longer have 2nd init installed, which allows for CWM recovery, so you can't flash a zip from there.
How long does it stay stuck on the blur logo? Maybe you're just not waiting long enough? (Stupid question I know, but some people complain after 2 minutes, the first boot can take a long time!)
Try looking at This thread and see if the link which is in this post will work to download the Taiwanese SBF. For me it doesn't seem to load
Edit: - Oh the Taiwanese SBF did eventually download. Took about 5 minutes with the tab open loading. I've uploaded it to my Dropbox so you can download from there... should be a bit faster!

Thanks for helping me out....
The motorola logo stays around for 20 seconds after with the Motorola boot animation starts.....
So i left my defy on for around 20 mins and nothing is happening its still playing the boot animation. !!
I havent yet downloaded the sbf link you have given me as i am at work now and will be able to do that only when i reach home.
Another thing i have noticed is that i am able to charge my defy....that means the rom is present and hopefully working !!
What say....???
Have you done Factory Reset????
1- turn off your phone (take the battery out and then put it back in)
2- press and HOLD the volume DOWN button + power button
3- Motorola logo appears first, then after a few seconds an 'android ROBOT logo' appears
4- press volume UP and DOWN buttons at once, quickly
5- from the menu choose 'factory reset/wipe-format data'
6- then do 'wipe cache'
7- then do a reboot
see if it helps and you are able to start the phone normally
Euro your awesome!!

Guys I have the same problem.
Phone was upgraded from Froyo to CM7 and took it fine. Played for a while in CM7 but decided to upgrade to CM10.
Followed the steps from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795647
flashed foryo Kernel
Flashed CM10-20120924-NIGHTLY-mb525.zip
Flashed Google apps
Cleared cache, cleared Dalvik
Phone boots but gets stuck at Motorola logo and after blue and green light it loops back again to the same sequence.
It's a Defy with green lens and it had stock T-Mobile Froyo (rooted) before flash to CM7.
I'm now back to CM7 as CM10 didn't want to work.
sorry didnt get you

hey buddy...m sorry i didnt quite get you....
As per my understanding i believe your phone is working fine with CM7 installed and you want to install CM10 on your defy !!
am i correct !!
if you then let me make it clear that the latest CM10 build used a custom kernel made by quarx himself....it is not running a froyo or gb kernel...
so here is what you need to do....
1. simply factory reset your phone...clear cache and dalvik...
2. now flash the latest CM10 build
3. again...clear cache and dalvik...
4. and now let defy boot....first boot may take a longer time....
hope this works for u...if it does not...let me know...will b glad to help u...

Yes, you are correct. the phone is working fine with CM7.
Factory reset, you mean from boot menu or the hard factory reset with holding volume keys (procedure posted above in this thread)?
The first time I actually tried, I did flash of CM10 without the prior kernel flash and it didn't work either.
so do I need any kernel flash or do I just flash it with CM10 and it should work?
I'll try again later today or tomorrow.
Thanks

Lots of us who had bootloops trying to flash CM10 24/09 with a BL5 base SBF solved the problem by flashing a BL6 base Froyo SBF.
But try a factory reset and flashing your stock T-Mobile Froyo first.
If your stock doesn't flash properly then it means you have inadvertently flashed something which updated your BL version to BL5.
I flashed the JDGC_U6.2.13.0 SBF which is BL6 and then I was fine.
Don't use this ROM though, just use it as a stepping-stone to install CM10.

I went through the thread thoroughly, but didnt find a solution

So, I posted before about wanting to flash a custom rom to my newly bought Milestone2. Sadly, no replies.
My problem now is that I have rooted, did the droid2bootstrap and then flashed Bootmenu via CWM, downloaded the MS2GINGER 4.0 with the kernel update and baseband switcher and the blur apps.
I boot into recovery fine, wipe/factory reset works. Clears the cache. But when I try to restore the system of the Ms2ginger, it says that the md5's dont match. Can anyone tell me what to do to get this rom working on my Milestone2?

You can try this fix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=714114
Works in linux, if you have windows, you're gonna have to find md5sum somewhere else.
Hope it helps :good:

Thanks man! I appreciate it. I have one more question though, for the ms2ginger, the kernel update cant be downgraded to froyo afterwards?
I've been reading but I havent really tried anything. I just (literally, 5 minutes ago) flashed the CM7 on the phone.

Yes, I think you can, by flashing your original rom's sbf.
Check here: http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone2 and if the links are down, download the sbf from here: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_milestone2/list.php (check the build numbers and the carriers)
Regards
I'll look into it.
Hmm... I'll have to look into that. I'm not sure about it, I just got the phone 2 days ago. Lmfao
Can you put a guide up here for me to follow? Cause, I really like the ms2ginger rom. I might even flash it today, assuming I get the files

I never really tried this rom ever, but i'll try to explain the flashing steps more clearly.
It's well explained on the rom's thread though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1169038
OK, you need these files:
The rom itself: https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B...p1T0U/edit?docId=0B3OovGFEtCdnajgyRHV5dXg3SG8
The motoblur apps (if you want them): https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B...p1T0U/edit?docId=0B3OovGFEtCdnNHA0dERlSFVxLUU
Patch for milestone 2: it's at the end of the roms thread
Gingerbread kernel (in case you are coming from stock froyo, cm7, or miui): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26889742&postcount=843
RSD Lite, at least version 5.0 (google it, should come right up) and the motorola drivers (if you don't have them): http://rootzwiki.com/topic/3216-roo...click-added-for-windows-linux-osx/#entry74495 If you rooted your phone with superoneclick or similar, you should have them already.
Steps:
0) Unzip the rom's folder from the zip to /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup and put the other 2 zips (motoblur and the ms2 patch) on the root of the sdcard.
1) Get into custom recovery (vol. down on the blue led)
2) Wipe data/factory reset, Wipe cache.
3) Go to nandroid -> restore and select MS2Ginger.
4) Go to install zip from sd card -> and select the MS2 patch. Repeat with motoblur.
5) Reboot, it will get stuck on a black screen. Remove the battery, wait 10 seconds and put it back. Hold the vol down, camera (all the way down) and the power button at the same time for 10 secs, let them go, you should see a black screen with "bootloader" at the top.
6) Plug in your phone to your pc, fire up RSD Lite (at least version 5.0) and flash the GB kernel's sbf. The phone will reboot.
7) That should do it
Good luck :good:
Still nothing
I still get the m5dsums mismatch. I'll have to do a little more looking for that file Too bad, I wanted something stable like that with working 720p
I'm reading here that I need to flash a fixed sbf file. I assume I need to do this with rsd lite the same way I'd have to if I bricked my defy?

[Q] No blue light after 2ndinit

Hello,
I was running CM7.2 but had an issue so I flashed back to the stock rom. Now I'm trying to flash a new custom rom but for some reason 2ndinit is not working.
I rooted and installed the recovery menu from 2ndinit, but I am not seeing a blue light on bootup.
The phone boots into the stock rom just fine, but I cannot get into the recovery menu.
Any help?
Problem
Cannot access ClockworkMod Recovery menu after installing 2ndInit
What I've tried
Wiped SD
Wiped Data
Reflashed JORDN_U3_6.36.0
Rooted
Installed 2ndinit 2.3
Still no luck, upon boot there is no LED. If I hold the down volume for the entire boot I am met with an android exclamation mark.
Update...
I was able to access an old version of CWM v2.5 using 2ndinit 2.0.
But that brings with it a new set of problems. When trying to access the SD card from CWM, it cannot mount it.
Using ADB and the commands in this forum (forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/33179-problems-installing-71-recovery-cant-mount-sdcard/) I was able to mount the SD and install CM7.2.
Now I am having GPS and 3g connectivity issues with CM7.2 that I've never had before. It makes me wonder if that hack way of mounting the SD messed up the installation?
I am using the US T-Mobile 3.4.2-107-9 baseband.

Hi there. Any luck getting this to work, as i have the same issue.
I rooted the phone, then installed 2ndInit and when i reboot it has no blue light. When i run the Defy 2mdInit in android it lights up red, then goes green, so appears to be doing all right stuff.
A silly question but one i cant find a answer too, is how to reboot! Im holding down the power button, then selecting power off. Once off i power on again, now technically thats a cold restart. Is there a different method to rebooting/restarting once the green light is on?
Many thanks.

If you just want to install a custom rom, like cm7 then you don't need to go through that process. You could try this method instead http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1787541
Please note: This method does not work for BL7 bootloader.

Hi There Pravarth.
Im completely new to all this, and this will be the first phone i mod. All i would like to do is install CM 10.2 (Android 4.3) and overclock to 1.0Ghz.
I know the Kernel needs to be changed to overclocking from what i read, so if i do the ROM update via this method, is there a option to overclock then too?
Is there a known issie with 2ndInit not doing the blue light on a reboot?
Many thanks.

First of all, do you have a defy or defy+? Because some methods dont work for defy+
Then you should probably read this if you new to flashing: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216982
I also suggest going from stock to cm7 and then cm10.2
Cm10.2 is overclocked to 1ghz by default. You dont have to do anything

Hi again.
I have a Defy with no moto blur and a red lens.
I have read a lot about flashing, and downloaded all the files i needed, rooted the phone then first problem came getting 2ndInit. I was having issues with the phone resetting when connected via usb so got the SndInitDefy_2.3.apk which runs fine, goes through all the steps, red light becomes a green light and says success. But then when i reboot it never shows the blue light.
Also a lot of these guides are Windows based and i dont use Windows i use Linux.
What are the benifits of going to CM10.2 via CM7, is there a reason for this?
Am i rebooting the correct way by doing a shut down then starting the phone again? Is there no way to do a hot reboot rather than a cold reboot?
Thanks again for your replies.
I don't know what went wrong, you should have been able to see the blue led. But, it's much easier to recover by flashing the easy recovery sbf. Then reboot to recovery and flash cm7. I say flash cm7 because the new cm10.2 has a newer version of update-binary so it wont flash successfully.
You need cm7 just for the CWM and bootmenu, from there you can flash cm10.2
You can use this method to flash sbf using linux http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1076138

Hi.
I seem to be having more success now, i got SndInit1.4.apk and now it gives the blue light and im in the BootMenu!
So maybe the new version has some issues!
---------- Post added at 05:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:01 PM ----------
Well im now ablle to at least get the bootmenu, however everything is there but it wont mount my sd card. Its shows the following..
ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.1.8
E:Can't mount /dev/blocl/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/blocl/mmnblk0)
(No such file or directory)
E:Can't mount /sdcard
Any ideas what is causing this problem?
I did try with another SD card, tried a smaller one thinking its a size issue, then formatted it too and same error message comes up.
Hope im giving enough info, but thats all i can see. Thanks again.

While I've had similar issue before, I would just assume it was some bad flash and start over. Never wondered why it would happen. It is quite a pain. But most importantly, make sure the battery doesn't go low otherwise it wont allow you to flash.
Usually all such problems go away if you return to stock and try again
Here's what I usually do: Flash froyo stock + super one click to root + 2ndinitdefy2.0apk (It has the new version of CWM). Then flash cm7
OR
Flash froyo stock + easy recovery sbf. Then flash cm7 from stock recovery
Hope this works
Your link to everything about the Defy was very helpful and informative.
Im still on Eclair which seems like that might be the problem, so i guess i need to get Windows...i do have a old Windows XP so will find that old hard drive and boot into that then try the SDlite app and try install a stock 2.2 rom.
At the moment it has a French rom, in English though, so will try find a 2.2 French rom sbf. I think the issue might be 2.1 not being able to use the SD card like 2.2 and up does. Also 2ndInit v2.3 does not work, any other lower version does work, but gives a sd card error.
So my bext question, where do i get a standard 2.2 french rom? There is a link on here, but its the Orange version, not sure if that will be ok.
All i did was root, then 2ndInit. Rooting was a knightmare, eventually used the Motorola1Click Root and that worked, nothing else worked.
Thanks for all your help, knowing all the technical stuff is one thing, knowing all the orders, files and so on is another.
