Seems its gone quiet on the rom/updates for most cookers , this prob because they are all at work on a new custom kernel for their roms like j, WB etc , what goodies will be activated by them and what release kernel will you be using ? as i see on freexperia hub both the .29 and 32 have been worked on? , will you all be dropping froyo and jumping straight to Gingerbread ? i like GB but for some reason i like froyo better WB v5 with custom .32 rom would be top notch

The only thing everyone wants is 16m colors and 30+ fps. Noone wants new stupid boot animation.

yep. I dont mind much for the fps cap but its probably cause I dont know what im missing. The most important to me is 16m colours.

believe me, you do If you've compared the x10 with phones like the htc desire, the desire is so much smoother because there is no fps cap
The important things for me are removed fps cap and overclocking.

Can't wait to see the difference in colour With 30+ fps and 16m colours our X10 will be the true contender it should have been last year!
And what about higher speaker volume and incall volume hack

I hear you buddy!
I don't think the call volume is necessarily because of the kernel. Its not a problem for a lot of people, it seems to be a regional problem. There are volume hacks available already but I don't know for certain they work for in call volume.
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
Regional or not its problem for many people so why not...and as I know all sound hacks works only on hacked devices...correct me if Im wrong...
...another thing is NO exposure correction (+- EV) for 2.2+ camera and until now nobody answered me if we will have it on new ROMs as we already have on 2.1 stock camera...maybe Arc cam port will help...do somebody know why noone port Arc camera apk to X10? Just a question because Arc firmware is here in XDA for a long time...

Z just release bootimage for higher volume call..check it in bootloader hack thread...

i'm very very sure there are a few things ppl NEED in a custom kernel:
1. FPS cap removal
2. 16mil colours
3. UNDERVOLT to save battery
4. tethering
Plus, it open doors to Cyanogen and MIUI teams to develop a version of their roms specifically optimized to our x10...
Also the possibility to port Sense Roms for those who like it, as jerpelea has tried unsuccessfully in the past...
And the possibility to develop optimized kernels, which will improve roms stability and speed...
Just look at G1 development section and you will see that there are some kernels that runs faster and better than anothers...

Well, fps cap doesn't really bother me. Considering the human eye can't see past 24fps and I don't really play any games to have seen the fps drop down to it being noticeable (except when the phone lags of course).
Human eye can percieve Much more than 24fps. 24 is a basis for smooth effects. 32 is generally the smooth media standard. Its a theory like gravity. Z"tests" have shown human eyes seeing past 60-100. Due to ram and higher fps would smoothen and speed up our phones. Much less lag. Better response time.

^just what i wanted to post
is it even possible to change to kernel so we have 16m colours? can our screen do that?

Try using Z's custom kernel for 2.1 at least once (or just compare the smoothness of scrooling menus and screens on iPhone and Xperia X10)... the removal of the 32fps cap do a hell of a difference. First time i´ve tryed i ->
The video here tells you what exactly Smart AR can bring on the table. Whenever one happens to use their smartphone's camera to click pictures, this will pull up extra information on the device's screen like anything from virtual objects to images and texts which are otherwise not visible. It makes use of markerless approach where it dispenses with the need of any dedicated requisites for special markers which also includes 2D barcodes. So you'll have all the information displayed over the 3D space in front of you. All that you can see can also be navigated by touching the AR information on the device's screen

Whoa. Great find. Thanks for the link.
Only the Japanese Arc officially got it...Let's wait for the developers to port it to the x10 XD
that's cool as hell...
That level of interactivity.
Oh ****! That's awesome!
They use a ARC to show this...
BTW did anyone notice Japanese are obsessed with Pink Arc..all Arc videos from Japan have a Pink Arc..I am sure there must be a hello kitty under the battery !!
O_O i love it.

This would be awesome if it can be ported to X10. Hope its not hardware dependent.
something like that is allways hardware depended.
And i dont't think that a 1ghz cpu and a bit of gpu is powerful enough to calculate a waterfall in realtime, for me not possible. (that can my PC-gpu with a power use of more than 80Watt!!
It probably will be easy to get on our phones. There are already normal simple AR apps that work and it probably comes down to the devices CPU and camera

I guess, it will work just like 2D barcoder !
the code would be embedded on the product and by using your cell phone cam, and Sony SmartAR App you'll able to decode it.

Wouldnt that mean something would have to be added into the product design by the product manufacturer so it has something to decode?
If so, that means us down here (Australia) probably wont have a use for it for another 15 years
Would be awesome to play with, even if no practical uses

Notice the video, in which they create a virtual person and virtual environment, I guess, it has nothing to do with "embedded code" on the product side ...
embedded code was my assumption, not necessary to be correct.

Hello. I.recently purchased Nova 2 from gameloft website for 4 euros. I honestly tried a cracked version before that. It didn't run well. I then purchased the game and it's exactly the same. The game often drops to what look to me 3 or 5 fps, very laggy in every situation. I tried with chainfire 3d but nothing changes. I am at the moment with latest cyanogen. I have read that people with desire HD run the game smooth so what problem do i have here?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
you should try a complete wipe + reinstalling..
I was on Cyanogenmod when i bought the game and had no problem.. i'm on Virtuous right now and still plays smoothly
Complete wipe of the Tom or the app? Before installing cyanogen i did the complete clean uninstall. After the cracked version i also disinstalled the app from the manage apps, and then deleted the directory of gameloft from SD card. Then i purchased the game, installed apk and downloaded all the new game data. Can you give more info?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
And did you buy it from gameloft wap website, gameloft full website or android market? Maybe it makes a difference.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
A compete wipe of the device and reinstall cyanogen. However you did it the first time so im clueless.
As for the .apk, i got it from the market but i dont think i really mather because all the cache files are downloaded from gameloft servers anyway
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I had the same issues when i first played the game with the normal version you get when you buy it for the DHD. This version is somehow buggy i think. For me the lags where most noticeable while there where enemies on the screen. Seemed to me like there is some texture or effects on the guys that causes the lags.
I then tried about every version out there and to my surprise the Xperia Play version worked best. You might wanna give that a try Its the oldest Android Nova 2 version, 1.0.0. But it runs super smooth on my device! Note: The resolution is slightly off in the menus but the gameplay is perfectly fine.
I am gonna try the experia play version. Any hints on how I can find it?
And also i made someone download the game from the market on an Acer iconia with Tegra. It runs not smoother than my phone and it's weird i think. I don't expect 60 fps but on my phone it's just impossible even to just look around.
So i am waiting on advice on how to run the xperia version! By the way i get 2200 points on quadrant benchmark so i guess CPU and video are ok.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Found it even before your post! I was sure that was the version i tried before buying but maybe it isn't....this one works flawless, only weird things are the menu which is cropped and the initial intro video which is smaller than the screen. In game graphics are the same, but it runs very very well. Nothing like the other one! Thanks!
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I noticed that the picture becomes blurry and the framerate drops down. It is like the game uses some sort of dynamic resolution. The weird thing is that when the picture is sharp, the game is very smooth. As soon as the picture pixelates and blurs the frames go very very low, unplayable. I wonder what causes that. Gameloft said that no one reported problems on the desire HD so i have no idea.

Gameloft released NOVA2 v 1.0.3 for some HTC models ... the link is available from support...just email them.
or Google search for this version this even works in SGTAB2 7.0 ( unrooted ) ...however the movement control gets stuck at times, you may have to pause the game & resume to play.
On Android phones ( not Tablets ) with smaller screen size , I think this version will play much better.
I tried ChainFire3D on it, but it fails to load.
Happy Gaming!

MC3 does any one else feel like the run should be L and aim should be dpad up instead of the other wqy around
I agree that run should be something else but aiming has to be L. Running could be triangle and dpad up enable kill streak.

That sounded deliciously cruel.
I feel like they could've made it like shadow guardian where circle is run(and with that said, I'm happy as hell to see that it aims nothing like shadow guardian). I'm actually kinda getting used to up though.
and lmao @ torturing touch screen users. There was some dude on my YouTube channel just cussing about the unfair advantage xperia play users get

Interestingly , we're the ones with a disadvantage , in a way.
Its like the mouse v analog issue, they can turn faster and aim more accurately whereas we can aim more precisely,
Then the fact that we have a clear screen kinda dissolves it ,
from tapatalk on xperia play.
Aiming should be up? What the f*ck are you smoking?
a big NO
triangle could have been throw grenade not change weapon since it's already done by the D-pad
and circle should have been sprint, just like in Rainbow Six, and not throw grenade
L is well good for aim like any other FPS game, it makes good combination with R as shoot
This is designed for phones with 512mb of ram or less, such as our phone.

I used a FPS counter before and after for MC4. I went from 27/28 FPS before this to 29/30... so only a frame or more ... I dont know if this is due to this mod or not.. perhaps someone should run a quadrant or other benchmarking app that does GPU testing... then install mod and rerun and see what happens.

i've tried that on CB and ics , but there is no any significant difference !
Tried the version before last update just for fun and the only difference i noticed was that my launcher started to lag.
But hey c'mon people if anyone of you have looked into this script must saw that this is nothing serious.
For example vfs cache pressure=10000, what tha hell, highest i ever seen in a rom for the Play was 150.
Thank you for sharing this ozzmanj1 , you are always on top of new things and always a big help on "sharing" things.
Before using, my Super Hexagon is smooth. Now my Super Hexagon lags a bit.

Its not suitable for Play. I already found this about 4 months ago & it was call lazerdroid back then. I would've recommended it if it was that amazing. Sriously, its not recommended.
