Hey guys I was wondering weather the iphone4s has any features which the galaxy s3 doesn't have? including IOS 6
Just how the S3 has Pop up play, smart stay, smart alert, Social tag, wireless charging
Also i was wondering which is better the app store or the Play store?
Does the play store have more apps if you take away the 140 000 ipad apps ?

IPhones are the best man. Galaxy s3 will be too complex for you.
If you don't care for double cpu double ram double screen size ics or jb, then don't worry about GS3. IPhone is the phone for you. I can't convince my wife to get GS3 so I can't convince anyone else either...

Yes, it has many. Like restricting access to your storage. Inability to expand your memory with an sdcard. No support for codecs nor flash. No customization options. Small screen. Fruit spyware on every step tracking your every move and asking you to log in with your pineapple account. Only one button. Terrible terrible glass finish that breaks from 1 meter drop. Oversaturated colors on photos. A really bad front cam. Slow 3G internet. Slow OS with a terrible interface, cartoony icons and no real multitasking and many more. Get it now and disable your xda account.

Quick answer:
iPhone = like living in jail
Galaxy S3 = freedom
I am wondering...how come people fight desperately for freedom (see numerous wars on earth) but willing to be put in "jail" by using iPhone?
I do not get it?
I think people are giving the OP a hard time for no reason, he's not saying Iphone is better or that he prefers it. He just wants to know if it has anything that the S3 doesnt, it's a simple question if you have used both devices.
The S3 is definitely more powerful in terms of hardware, but how useful that is in normal day to day use is open to debate. It's also a lot more customizable as a result of running Android.
In Apple's favour, the iphone is very simple to use but that comes at the expense of flexibility. It's also a lot better supported in terms of operating system updates than any Android-based manufacturer has managed to date.

Like in the Samsung unpacked commercials leading up to the S3....stand out from the sheep! :highfive: Iphone just a status thing...look at me look at me im part of society who needs an iphone to be cool :laugh::laugh: meanwhile most people just use it for facebook. 4s was a FLOP anyway...16 months after the 4..Apple gives you that piece of junk..new screen and processor..and siri..which they purchased...nothing at all exciting.
end rant
The only advantage of Apple iPhone is that a baboon could use it. In fact I see baboons using iPhones every day.
On an of topic but related note, if the baboon at work keeps telling me to buy an iPhone because of all the great things it can do (he only ever mentions things Android can do) I may end up feeding him to a lion. I don't think the baboon has even used an Android before, he just assumes it can't be very good because it's not by Apple.

Seriously, anyone asking this question should just get an iPhone, it's simple and at their level. If you thought Siri was a killer feature then I'm afraid an Android phone will be too complex for you.

Yeah that sums it up :highfive:
Actually iPhones are far simpler to use.
Their bodymass-to-size ratio is higher so they fly far more stable than the S3 which tends to rotate due to the sheer size of it's front side.
This makes it easier to throw the iPhone out of the window without actually hitting it's glass which would be costing you even more in terms of repair and frustration.
Furthermore their mentioned compact body and higher weight allows to throw it further than any other phone.
In conclusion, this makes it the perfect device to throw out of your window before you go and buy an Android phone.
However.... I do doubt it counts as an advantage in a comparison video.

Ive bought a Note and today a Galaxy Nexus and they all go back...
Nothing to compare with the S2...
Can you be more precise on what you dislike?
on note:
+display size for browsing
-laggy and slower comperd to s2
-size, im 193cm but its too big for beeing a mobile phone
on galaxy nexus:
+display it looks really georgous
+videocam can zoom on fullhd and shows more
-ics at this moment (mods, app support, flash etc) is not better then gingerbread
-microsd card
Galaxy S2 is still the best one, the note and nexus only have a larger screens with higher res. And this is it.

How is the note laggier? I thought it was an overclocked S2
How was the battery life on the note and nexus?

The notes battery was really better compared to the s2. my s2 survives on heavy useage on a office day 8 hr, the note could add 3-4 hrs... on the nexus i dont know.

I'd like to comment on this and say that after the SGN has been released, the hype has gone down for me. Being a new OS/phone there seem to be a plethora of bugs flying around, with small annoyances starting to come out.
As a techie it's easy for me to claim ICS superiority, but how will you explain these things to your dad for example? "ICS is...uh...better..."? The average person would see very minor changes. Yes the interface is new, but how is this really different from installing a new launcher? Sorry to sound cynical about ICS but to most people it is a minor interface change. The practical experience would be like moving from HTC Sense to TouchWiz... different interface but overall still the "same".

I have a note and s2. With2.3.6 firmware the note performance is more or less like the s2. Screen is better than the s2 and unless you have small hands it's very comfortable to use. Default CPU speed is 1.4 GHz which is enough to handle the extra pixels.

I dont agree about ICS being the same as installing a new Launcher. Go watch some more vids about ICS. You see changes in the phone app, in the calander app, in the browser. The UI is more consistent in every part of the OS, giving it a modern and complete look. There are nice animations, also for switching from portrait to landscape view, the new notifications bar, etc etc.
Not to mention there should be new features.
The Engadget ICS review goes pretty deep in to ICS.
I usually am like you and very honest and direct about if I like something or its not such a big deal. But imo ICS is a very good and nice update.

From someone who owned an HTC Diamond, the omission of an SD Card is a stupid idea. From a manufacturer's point of view, you make one phone which can have an 8GB, 16GB or 32GB extra memory which can be plugged in or (like Apple) manufacturer 3 variations of the exact same phone.

Interesting opinions, for me the Note is ruled out straight away it is simply too big for a mobile and frankly i think it looks a bit silly walking around with something that size stuck to your ear.
The Nexus i would be more interested in but the lack of SD rules out me getting that straight off, what were Samsung thinking
Actually i don't know why Samsung are even bothering releasing more and more smartphones trying to rival the SGSII, i hope it's not a case of quantity as opposed to quality, churning out a new smartphone every few months for me isn't the way to go, if i were Samsung i would've waited until Feb 2012 and released the SGSIII complete with ICS and watch as sales rocket, lets be honest the Note and Galaxy will be lucky to achieve even a 1/3 of the sales the SGSII has done, only the wealthy and those who are really obsessed with having the latest smartphone regardless if it's the best or not will buy, judging by the reviews ive read both these phones are no better than the SGSII so why bother shelling out lots of money.

Don't you think it's wayyyy too big to be a phone, christ you may as well go back to 1988 when you had yuppies walking about with the first ever mobile phone
I don't have tiny girl hands so no its not way too big at all. Fits perfectly, if anything the SG2 seems too small now. I could never go back to a phone smaller than 5". Unless you're a psuedo-male that's around 5'4"-5-5" with girl like hands, it should be no problem to handle. Hell even most average sized girls could handle it with ease.
Hi guys, just wondering wether is worth upgrading to a s3 from a iPhone 4s?.
Getting bored of the 4s now and fancy a change and something new. I've had androids in the past, Xperia, htc xl etc... Still yet to try out a Samsung phone.
So what you reckon?..

I believe S3 is better than even iPhone 5. And that's not even released.
Jokes apart, having used both phones, what I liked about 4S was the outrageously smooth UI. But Jelly Bean is going to address that anyway. No other features in iOS are going to compare to the features in Android. What this boils down to now is hardware and S3 hardware is hands down the better.
Since you are asking this in SIII forum, I am guessing you have already made up your mind. Just want people to convince you more?

Just get the S3 already, you won't regret it!

Battery is overall far better on the S3.
Just default web browsing is better on the 4S, but if you use the reverse rendering (who make white black and black white) the battery life on web brosing far exceed the 4s.
Android, from my point of view put iOs to shame apps integration is far better (you can really share with android not just to email and twitter), google now est faaar better than siri, no comparaison. And well, Android is not a boring Os
if you are from android before then you good to go , if purely ios user then stay at ios cause so most hardcore ios user are ignorant , always asking stupid question they buy a android platform and keep asking why android cant work like ios
No, Apple is soon going to make sure Android is banned all over the world. Don't get on a sinking ship.
crapple vs Android
android banned! wont happen as its against the consumer rights act in the uk and our monopolies commission will see crapple's tactic as an underhand method in control of the market so will NOT allow it in any way shape or form.

What's this about I hear the graphics being to cartoonish on the s3?. What's the screen like in direct sunlight?
Well seeing as the only 4s feature I see advertised is siri then I would say definitely s voice struggles to understand me but I am always dubious about voice recognition.
And the s3 has more features than just voice recognition which from what I can see the 4s doesn't.
And don't fuel Apple's monopolizing of the entire computer and phone industry, morals ate more important than features.

I upgraded from a 3GS (didn't find the features compelling enough to go to 4, 4S camera was very tempting). I must say the S3 is amazing. You have to get used to it as using an iPhone dumbed me down a bit and the Android OS is a bit more complex.
However the apps I used on the iPhone are all here so that a bonus. In addition the battery can be removed so I can now have double the battery life if I wanted Overall the screen is real nice and speed of the device is amazing. I would recommend this 100%. However make sure you are happy with the size as it is quite large

the galaxy s 3 is gonna compete with the iphone 5 or 6 or whatever they gonna call it. 4s is old news so theres your answer.
I've been using android for 2 years now and 6 months ago i decided to try 4S, mainly because it was fast stable and had a great camera. After 2 months I got bored of it, could not take the limitations of the OS (even when Jailbroken) and decided to get the S3. I was a bit sceptic in the beginning but now I think Galaxy S3 is a great phone, better camera, better os, superb screen, sd card slot and excellent battery life are things to consider as well.

Your answered your own question.. "is it with the UPGRADE?"
So I can pick up my new S3.
I've been wanting to switch forever to Android, but to me the hardware wasn't always quite there. Now that phones have caught up, I'm itching to go upgrade. However, I know the iPhone 5 is being released in just a little bit, so I'm going to hate myself if I don't at least hear what the 5 is going to have. My guess is NFC and a larger screen, but I can't imagine what else they could bring hardware wise. I love my Iphone, don't get me wrong, but I'm guessing hardware will barely change and to me Ios6 doesn't look like it will bring a lot of innovation to the market.
I'm such a nerd though, I use to have an HTC with Windows Mobile and modded the hell out of that thing. It was the most fun I've ever had with a phone, but the camera on it was horrible, which is pretty important in my eyes.
Does this forum looks like Android-Buy-Me-Forum? Dude, make your own decisions...nobody, I mean nobody can tell or convince you which phones you prefers. Iphone has their own advantages so does Android.
Everyone using Android will say Android is better, so if you go to an Iphone forum, the same will happen. If you want to use a phone with stability, nothing changes over time, everything goes well everytime, go to the Iphone. If you are someone who likes to tweaks your phone, able to set your own personal ringtone without going to iTunes, go to Android. Simple as that
Camera on the SGS3 is awesome, it has NFC, Android has had turn by turn navigation for years, you can do anything with Android you want, the quad core CPU is awesome if you watch videos receive an email or text and just hit the pop out play button to watch the video and check the email or text.
You aren't bound to what a company says a phone should be able to do, you don't like the stock rom flash a custom rom. The UI looks different in different versions of Android. All share cast allows you to share whats on the screen with a TV whether its a slide show of holiday pics or a video.
Google now trumps siri in so many ways (when JB comes) you can just copy files to any PC, no installing iTunes on all PCs you want to share things with.
Any other reasons you need?
Well I certainly know the differences, but I thank everyone for their input. My thought process about the iPhone was always hardware as I stated before. I never really enjoyed iOS, at least when I purchased for4. For the first iPhone 3, I'm sure a lot of us could agree it was probably the best OS out at the time. When the 4 came out, it seemed like the best hardware compared to others as well, but iOS was falling behind.
But now, I don't know whats up Apples sleeve. I mean, what could they possible bring to the table that will provide the wow factor hardware wise? NFC won't do it, I even think wireless charging wouldn't do it. A slightly larger screen and maybe a better camera? 3d? All stuff is either standard now or a cheesy gimmick. That's why i love the S3, because it has the hardware, plus we all know Android is fantastic.

Iphone's screen will never compare to the GS3, better camera get the Nokia N8 with a 12MP camera, 3d get the LG Optimus 3d, these are already out there Apple will just be copying everyone implementing things we don't see in the SGS3.
Also lets not forget the hardware in the iPhone is all Samsung hardware, so iPhone is made by Samsung as well. Any hardware Apple could improve over SGS3 (CPU, GPU, screen) will drain your battery which you cannot replace. with the SGS3 if you need it you can carry a spare battery with you and just swap it over when the awesome hardware drains the battery.
Well first off, it's an iPhone... While they may be popular, Samsung has over thrown Apple's control of the market share."Everyone that's popular, cool, rich has to have one right???" No -_- the SGS3 cost more than the iPhone, so that marks off rich people. I am pretty da*n cool and popular, that marks the others off cuz I have an SGS3. It has a quad core while Apple is just now getting into the dual core waters. Battery life is amazing. GPU is the best around. Dev support, not locked down. Jelly bean smoothness on the way.
I mean c'mon if you seriously have doubts on getting an iDevice and becoming an iSheep, then leave XDA. Unless your job forces you (which I would still try my hardest to avoid) to have an iPhone, steer clear and enjoy your freedom.
I don't know why you say the iPhone had the best hardware, it wasn't hardware that made it smooth, it was software optimisation.
The 4S is using an underclocked dual core processor and it only has 512mb of ram.
Hardware has never been apples game, they just optimised the sh*t out of iOS.
Also objective C is faster than Java. (iOS and Android coding languages respectively)
Hardware was nearly always better on high end android handsets (no point comparing a 59.99 low end Android to a 700 quid iPhone, although most people that say Android is **** base their opinions on that.) Because it had to be, the os wasn't refined as much as iOS because there were so many oems, chip manufacturers etc. there were so many variables.
Now with JB Android has really found its feet, JB is the release that Android deserves as a platform, it is the one that will win non-technical people over with the ease of use and of course the fact that it oozes butter all over the place.
So to get to the point, iOS is dated, Android is growing better with every release. Vote Android.

Well its possible for the iphone5 to be better spec wise (cpu, gpu). If you're into gaming, it seems developers always put out the best versions of their mobile games for apple's product so that could be a plus for you. Other than that, I don't think anyone knows what's going to be in it.

if he's into gaming then he should get a console or a PC.
to the OP, you said so, you want to change to android, sgs3 is a great way to make that change, the iphone 5 could be good but we don't know yet besides, if you like freedom then android is your choice.
my recommendation is, wait till the iphone release and pick one by then, if you come to our world you will enjoy it and never leave, trust me.
If he's in the us his gs3 won't be a quad core . But it will have 2 gigs of ram and be fast as hell. I'd go with the gs3. In fact I am going to the gs3 lol. I have the gs2 right now.

Apple will never compete in hardware spec with Android because there are so many android devices come out every 4-6 months with higher spec. Apple will never catch up on that department.
Maybe there will be new softwares in Iphone5. But whatever software offered in Iphone5 will be available for Iphone4.
So basically, there is nothing, I mean really nothing worthwhile that Iphone5 will bring to you.

Convince me that this thread was really needed? There are many people waiting for new iphone to come out so that they can compare it with GSIII and make their decision. What if everyone wants to be convinced?

Is this some cheap way of getting the fanboys stocked up?!
Read how unimpressive IO6 with the features that are coming out and the compelling but unsiteresting hardware underneath it. Besides you know what your getting with apple tbh, there hardly surprising anyone as much as they used to these days, but incremental change has its merits.

I have to admit something about those apples
I have repaires alot of samsungs and my first 4s a while ago
Build quality is something apple does better to my opinion
Not trying to hate on the plastic s3 that cracks when handled ruff
Just saying i prefer apples build quality (ill never get one tho) well if somebody gives me one sponsored i wont say no offcourse but purshasing it myself ?
I think for ppl that like apple build quality and dont like os from apple they can
Put android on it ? Lets face it this is XDA
Samsung need to notch up the build quality and then the phones would be ok

The Iphone(5) isn't out yet! besides, it sounds like you want a phone because it could be more popular not because of the functions. If you want a stylish phone have a look for the sony ericsson p900i
Please don't close this thread soon, i am in real headache and really need some thoughts from only those users who have used latest Android Devices and iPhone 5/5s.
Hi there, i am facing some serious issues about buying either Note 3 or iPhone 5s. To further explain my last few phones in order are HTC One X, iPhone 5 again iPhone 5 and lastly i sold LG G2. LG G2 i believe is best in android just because of lack of brand value i sold it as i got good offer as compared to market.
I thought to buy smaller iPhone 5s, just to be able to do everything, fine living with no songs sharing, limitations, but fast, fluid and small in hand and pocket. Now Note 3 which i hated, specially S pen, but better brand value, more things to be able to do, but same messy android and touch wiz?
Spoiled for choice, only one have to make.
May be i should somehow hold and play with both, both phones have some to give and something to take.
EDIT:
Problem simplified. Trimmed my situation into two choice:
Option 1 (Big, tough to carry, more real estate + Android, more possibilities, sharing and mess)
VS
Option 2 (Small, easy to carry around + less feature simple life fluid and pretty)
You say you hated Note 3, so what's the problem. Go with iPhone 5S. That's a fantastic phone, and I'm not being sarcastic. I'm not an Android fanboy, I call it as it is.
Be careful however, iPhone 6 will come out in near future and it'll likely be very different from this generation of iPhones, likely with a bigger screen, so your iPhone 5S will start looking old.
Hate S-pen !
if you hate Note 3 specially for S-pen then you won't find anything more in Note 3 not in LG G2.(not to mention bigger screen )
and i don't think buying a phone based on its brand value is a good thing; buy a phone that is amusing you.
hope this help.
i have both and they are completely different things. I think that if you can use big screen (you really have to believe) go for note 3. has better screen and more options and of course rooting.
iphone 5s has touch id which is very very useful for buying apps and games while you are using your pass. more compact. has jailbreak (not fully compatible yet) and it is classic apple if you can manage to use it…
final words; if you play games use office and want bigger, more crisp screen go for note 3, if you think you want compact daily use and not customised phone, go for i5s.
thanks.
Whenni allready haf my note 3 i bought an 5S to try it out and see why so much ppl love iphone. After 8 days i sold it again and switched back to my note 3.
You can't do sh*t with an iphone. No customisation. The way whatsapp works suvks balls and no support for sharing. Lets say you want to share a picture from your photo album you cannot choose bluetooth or whatsapp or dropbox or whatever. You must do all things within the designated app. Total BS. No custpm mp3 ringtones because non synced mp3 will not be supported and all that crap.
Hope my anti apple rant helped you.

Thanks for the reply brother. I hated Note 3 when i bought G2, due to massive size and weight of stylus, now when i sold G2 i am open to choices, so just thinking bigger screen can be advantage as well as headache, like you can do anything in android, if i can bear Big size, on the other hand i decided iPhone5s just being smaller and easy to carry and use, thinking too much small size will be just ok, as watching website is not ideal on any mobile for that you have laptop.
As i think, both have advantages and disadvantages, and it will come down to just size, which size i may prefer. too many options in android can be headache for me, simple iPhone where you can't do a **** can be easy. Well !

You are right, i was so much satisfied with LG G2 too, just was bit down due to no market value, and when i got good offer from someone, i thought to sale it, as later it wont bring this money, plus i dont like physical home buttons on touch devices, but now i have to have it. One of these two phones i have to buy now hopefully with determination not to sale them again

Thanks for great guidance. I only rooted and applied custom roms to my once x10 mini, apart from that i never used custom rom just because of reading many people brick devices and confusions and all that, not something clear. I used iPhone 5 twice and i know what is that and only thing i specially hate is you cant share song over whatsapp.
Yeah, deciding factor will be size, if i can live with gigantic size in pocket, i should go for note and may be get cm11 with installer, if i will get iphone, i will only get because i dont want to deal with root and flashing.
I really don't see the point of this thread... You said yourself you hated the note 3.....so why even bother with this post. Just get the iPhone5s and be done with it. You don't even want to put custom rom on the phone and with the other issues like Knox and the likes. Just get an iPhone5s

Its like i don't hate any platform, i didnt like samsung note 3 due to physical home button and size, but i know somehow android can be more beneficial with bigger screen and all, now i have option of both, thats why considering both, with iPhone i have to lose things too, any ways, yeah i wanna avoid custom roms being not clear or easy way to do it, though i love stock android appearance so much. Just got choice thats making me confuse, eventually i know i have to decide one my self as i know most things my self about both platform and phones, tough choice for a guy like me who is not fanboy and who has open choice to make. In the end i say whichever i get, i may get working set.

Well you sold iPhone after 8 days because your needs are very much android like. I liked iPhone twice just becauseyou can't change built in programs like sms, which saved me from tension of which one to chose, so much choices like its tension which to use and which not, one feature is good in one, other feature is good in second app. Yes sharing is an issue but only sharing songs are issue, pics can be shared with whatsapp and everything can be shared in dropbox app and songs can be downloaded via third party app like file master, yes sharing songs via whatsapp is my only grudge, another draw back is apps are not free unless you jail break, which i dont do.
Custom ring tones, i am not fan of songs as ring tones and built ones are just classic, yet you can have custome ringtone too.
Well, your above mention weakness are strength for others and i fall in between of both. wish i could hate one of them like you completely

Yeah, you reminded me, battery is the biggest issue and difference between the two, when i had iPhone 5 twice, it use to last working hours, i was playing games rarely, push was on, with LG G2 battery was massive edge and i feel, Note 3 should be same good in battery.
Yes since i am posting it in Note 3, answer should be Note 3, i have nothing personal against it, when i will try it in some store, i will see if i can carry the monster around with me or not. Another guy has note 3 and its so big against his face and in hands, i wonder how to do it.
Let me make a statement here. A guy above said since Android has ability to change default apps, its cool, which iOS can't. Let me say?
IS ANDROID USELESS AND GARBAGE TO USE, IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO RISK ROOT, FLASHING, I MEAN WITHOUT THIS, YOU CAN ENJOY/USE EVEN THE HIGH END ANDROID PHONE? FOR THOSE WHO ARE NOT INTERESTED IN ROOTING? SHOULD NOT CONSIDER ANDROID?
That's what i think, you guys give your opinion. To further back my point, Every one knows LG G2 SMS app was ****, same can be said about Samsung SMS App as well, it was easy to use Hangout which i life being neat, even though lacks features like pop up, but i could not remove or disable LG SMS App without root, which means even if i hide it in Launcher phone always using two apps for same thing? is this not bul****? to use Android? you need to get comfortable with rooting and stuff?
For S Pen Fans?
This question is for S Pen Fans?
I have a shop, i work there, deal with customers, i am normal smart phone user, who is using smartphones since Nokia 6600, way back then.
I understand and i am convinced, Apple changed game, brough touch screen phones to limelight and everything changed? Ruined Nokia of which i was fan.
Now How and due to what Apple managed to change the game? Apple managed to change game by screwing Stylus and bringing finger input method, it was death of stylus, turn out to be stylus was bull****. Now we got rid of it and Samsung, who don't know how to make smooth UI, put it back and telling me its selling feature, fine.
I want fans of S Pen to tell me, how S Pen can help me to use my phone better to those phones without it, like LG G2. Solve my this problem as well, Please. Don't tell me, to make paintings, to write notes, you can type neater, faster and better, and don't even tell me of hover effects, i rather turn those battery enemies and lag friends anyways.
I've had both, I got bored by the fact you can't do much on the iPhone so returned it. Put it this way, the note 3 does everything the iPhone can, and better in every way.

Note 3 size is usually only an issue for a short time. You get used to it very quickly and then when you pick up iPhone you laugh and say how can anyone function on this puny little joke of a screen. Just my personal opinion. I'll never go back to small screen. 6 inch is perfect for me. 7 might even be sometime in the not to distant future.

My Dear Sir, It seems to be u already have iPhone 5s & came to this forum just to find out whether your decision is right or wrong,When u your self is not convince about Note 3 whatever We will say no use, If really you want to buy mobile go to store compare & buy, matter FINISH.
I knew the iPhone 6s was fast but dang son! This speed test kinda got ugly for the Note 5.
Apples (haha) to oranges. The application that was slow to load on the note 5 is likely not coded as well for Android.
Nothing i have tried on my own device takes more than about 1 second to load, and that slowest of apps is actually XDA premium...
Sweet! Buy an iPhone 6s and gain valuable seconds of your life back waiting for Angry Birds to re-load and re-load and re-load
Thanks, but I'll stick with the Super AMOLED screen, S-Pen, and Android.
I really never understood why these tests are useful in any way... It does not mimic practical use. I mean if any of you are using your device purely to cycle through apps as fast as humanly possible then please correct me
Cool because that's how I use my phone.

Agree with all the above--nobody uses their phone like this so there is little practical significance to this test. I feel bad that I already got sucked into posting here. The OP has a knack for generating negative, sensationalist threads like this. Here is about the most useful and constructive thing that can be said, quoted from a similar thread by the OP:
tylerlawhon said:
Here's the thing with iPhone vs android that people tend to forget. iOS is designed specifically for iPhones and thus the OS runs natively. Android is developed with tons of hardware configurations in mind and thus runs in its own emulator of sorts. The fact that an android phone can keep up with something running native code is incredible. Because of this, I'm not so worried that the iPhone can beat a note in a race that no one does in real life. I close my own apps out a lot to keep them from running in the background so I'm not so concerned with how fast the iPhone reopens a few apps.

Galaxy S6 camera whips Iphone 6s camera....people who complain on speed pls see this too ...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aybrBYKmqZg
Camera of Note 5 is totally better than the iPhone 6s and 6s plus.
Most of the testers don't use the functions like Auto HDR and of course the simple manual settings which they help at the difficult plans. I agree iPhone 6s is grate but not enough to bit Note 5.
Speed tests also aren't true.
Except we have 2 operating systems with totally different philosophy, Note 5 do a lot of things more than an iPhone.
They don't measure the execution time of various works which on ios need much more time. For example if you want to add a mail on Evernote app, iPhone needs more clicks and time.
If you want to translate a part of a text at an android device, just you need to share at Google translate app. At ios you have to click copy, then to click to open the app, click to paste, click to Close the app, click to reopen your text.
Another example:
You have an excel file at iCloud app. When you try to open, will open first on the iCloud app and then you have to choose with more clicks at what Office app you will open it. At all android devices you need just a click for that.
And don't forget the shortcuts you can use at your Note for any envelope or file.
Most of speed tests are wrong.
Any tester can use selected applications he knows from before, that a device open faster, to show us the device he want as totally faster.
For me if anyone wants to use his device at the job, chooses Note 5.
If he needs just social and applications to order pizza can purchase an iPhone. So simple.

Dumb comparison. Is anyone here because their only criteria in choosing a phone is benchmark speed? Android is about freedom to personalize, choose or disable specific applications, and variety in choosing and managing media. Samsung’s features which don't need to be called out specifically also deliver tools and functions that Apple's "we know what's best for you" model can't touch. But obviously based on Apple's margins and profits there's a big audience that likes their technology spoon fed to them. But since we're not them threads like this don't make a lot of sense.
I can't stand it... Going to sell my Note tomorrow.

It isn't unoptimized, it's uncontrolled. All those options and customizations we have need to be anticipated "just in case" they're used which I'd guess creates a ton of "if" and "validation" statements in the code that Apple doesn't need to be worried about. Hell, even supporting something as simple as a third party keyboard in iOS was a cluster f-. The gigantic productivity-based iPad Pro still doesn't support a mouse. Google took Apple's approach to "we know best" with Android Wear. So we have over a dozen watches that are all functionally the same. I'll take the performance I have, even if it's marginally slower than Apple's latest, over something like that any day.

What's the point of this thread? You went out of your way to post this supposed "test" on a Note 5 forum. It just seems quite sad that you would waste your time doing that.
You want all of us to feel bad about our purchase?
I'm not defending the Note 5 in any way but...
Our camera is way better than yours! How about that!? Plenty of tests online that prove that! Lol
We don't have to compete, you can enjoy your iPhone and we can enjoy our Note 5. Who cares if the iPhone opens Angry Birds 10 seconds faster?
There are so many posts on the Note 5 forums from users with no interest in doing something positive, just trolling and shaming Note 5 buyers. It makes absolutely no sense.
Purchase whatever makes you happy. None of these companies care about you or me, we just give them money.
All this loyalty to brands and "brand shaming" is just weird and quite sad.
I want to make a video where I put an iPhone and a sg6/note5 next to it and do some multi window tests on both devices.
eh....so?
