If it does work on the Nexus S I suspect the SGS can run it as well. ICS is no slouch but it feels nothing like my out of the box SGS when it started with Eclair (well eventually it got clogged up anyway ) . Go devs!

What kind of speculation could be there? We will get it with CM10 (my guess is september), we will not get it officially from Sammy.

I don't think Samsung pushes the Android 4.1 to SGS. They are kinda lazy creating new TouchWiz'es. Whatever this version of android is much better than ICS.

if we don't even get android 4.0.x, why should we get 4.1?

how i see on youtube jelly bean work good.i think after ics will be finished, jelly bean will be easy to port.

Indeed. I'll be happy with a fully working ICS port. If that happens everything beyond, like JB, is just a bonus!

Yeah, no speculation can be done,
We can only wait for the fantastic Devs that still own a SGS will port it to our beloved SGS :highfive: :highfive:

When the encryption problem will be solved, I think it would be pretty coll becaus, as I test the latest rom they build, touchscreen, touchkeys and power key works fine !

i think that we can have JB on gt-9000 in one month...

Encryption is already fixed and a first build with touchscreen and sensors workin is out on the dev thread.
But atm, everything else is broken so we have to wait a while before having an usable build.

Yeah it seems, I haven't try it yet. But, if you did, can you tell me if your phone has restarted after flashing it? My home button is broken so, if something sucks, I can't go back to recovery and I must flash using ODIN to get it back.. That's why I didn't tried it yet because I saw on OP we need to repeat wipe then fix permission. So, if the phone restart after flashing, I can't do that.
But, anyway, I'll try soon! Can't wait anymore

Well, I'd test JB.. it runs very smooth!!
Dev's are working very hard to make everything work ;D

I think gt-i9000 would look fabulous on JB without touchwiz. and it would run it better than ics, since I heard that JB is a lot faster and smoother. can't wait for it.
if there is no JB for gt-i9000 I will finally upgrade my gt-i9100 instead (for the first time. its still running on 2.3.3, don't know why I didn't upgrade it yet while the gt-i9000 is rocking with 4.0.3).

I 'm eagerly awaiting for the port too. When the devs get the radio working, it'll be good to go for me :good:

I'm waiting for radio too. It seems that camera is partially working, hope ril will be next!

I sure hope we get Jelly Bean!

Chanses of Jelly Beans on HD2

Till now we all know that Android 4.1 Jellybeans is in slot now. Even SDK is out. Sources are not on-line though. But I believe it will be very soon.
Now it's a big question whether HTC HD2 can hold Jellybeans or not? As fas as information on net concern Yes we can see JellyBeans on our beloved HD2. As drivers are almost same so it wont be a big problem to port it in our phone. With only 5-6 major changes JB is almost same as ICS. Some new features are there in JB like Google NOW, Off-line voice text is very cool about JB.
So in short we will see JB as soon as they release source codes.
If you find anything interesting you guys can post here so that we can have faith that HD2 will have JB.
Happy Hacking.
A dump of 4.1 has alreaady been posted on the NAND Thread, about 5 hours before your post, so shouldn't be too long to see if it can be ported.
I will still stick with GB but I'm willing to try JB. I hope they have the fix for Netflix. ICS still have some problem.
No it doesn't, it's pretty much perfect. I personally have no flaws in my day-to-day ICS usage.

have to agree with you there
and the tytung ics rom is freaking awesome
Don't get me wrong. I love Tytung's work as well. I flashed 4.04 just few hours ago because Netflix has a new update. I thought it will solve the problem and keep me from using ICS for good but still Netflix won't cooperate.
Really quite disappointed jellybean is only a slightly tweaked version of ics.. was expecting a fresh os.. nevertheless I simply cannot wait for a jb rom to pop up

Yes it is indeed. But few of the features are seems to be awesome. What I am exiting about is New google play an google now.
But if you think about it, the whole project butter thing will make the OS feel like something new. I simply cannot wait for it to be available on our devices

The main android Source isn't the problem, it's the hardware driver's thats the problem.
Does that mean Desire Z won't see a reasonably working version of Jelly Bean?

We don't know. ICS works reasonably well as it is, and the arrival of DHD camera drivers will fix one of the only non functional aspects.
The problem with our device is ram, ICS and Jellybean are very taxing on it. Personally, I believe Jellybean will run reasonably well, with lots of dev hard work of course. Either way, JB will be the end of the road I think.

Why not ICS is working just fine for me.. even without those drivers. Yeah sure camera doesnt work properly and some games still crash but i can live with that. JB will most likely be the same as ICS is now excrpt for project butter,i think.

There's a lot more to it, and ICS could be working so much better. It's a bit too complicated to explain, think bout this, how long as the source to ICS been out and 'similar' devices had access to it? Also JB uses a completely different kernel version if I'm not mistaken.

jelly bean roms

guys why are there no devs trying to jelly bean up and running for out tf101's?
we have cm9rc1 so im sure its possible?
you'll hear about them when they have something to show. I can promise you, there are devs working on it... read a few of the ics rom threads and you will find them.
Yep read around a little more.....
Team Liquid and Rayman33 have stated this a couple times now, and from whats been said progress is going well.
Team Eos have a work in progress.
CM10 will no doubt not be far away
Aokp will eventually throw something our way but maybe a little further down the line.
And hopefully were in with a shout of Asus themselves releasing JB for our TF's and then im sure we will have a few options to go between aswell as some kangs.
We just dont have a massive amount of aosp devs for the TF compared to some of the more popular smart phones so we just have to be a little more patient.
Wait untill they do it right. Now I have JB on SGS and I can tell that a lot of us who installed it yesterday have lots of problems with notification sounds, stock music player and camera.

KitKat made for low end devices with 512MB

Hello,
XDA and other sites have broken news on new features in KitKat and one of them is that its made for wearable devices with as low as 512MB. Our Desire Z has 512MB so this will be great news Obviously our processor still lacks and GPU drivers are sticks and gum but something is better than nothing.
I was excited to hear this when I first read that about KitKat. I'm quite excited to see if anyone out there is gonna work on a ROM once everything needed to port it over is available.

The team at Cyanogenmod has commented that this wont mean a revivial of old devices since a lot of things (drivers) are needed besides RAM but needless to say in my opinion and seeing what Jelly Bean brought to the table, I think its a good sign of things to come.
Sadly, there are few really active developers on JB/Desire Z. Lets hope someone comes out with a KitKat ROM.
Speaking of KitKat, here is a lot of the stuff ripped from the Nexus 5 ROM, I personally have all of them running on CM10.1 Andromadous (I think that's the right spelling.) Hope it helps people! bit. ly /1arIQCU (via DroidLife)
I would be very surprised if Kit Kat is ported to this wonderful device. The fact that it has been ported anything beyond Ice Cream Sandwich is astonishing already, so whether they support Kit Kat or not I'd still be happy until a true hardware keyboard phone comes out.

I would be really happy to see KitKat ported over. I mean even if it isn't I'd be happy running either CM10.1 or the Gslim 1.6 ROMs, but I hope that since KitKat supports lower ram that it helps performance wise. I'm tempted to try and get into developing roms but I'm quite a newbie when it comes to that.
i hope that somebody make it for our device
I'm a newbie as well when it comes to development, but if i have the time and someone ports 4.4 to a similar device (desire HD perhaps) then i'll definitely attempt to port 4.4 to the g2. I love my old g2, when i had to send my GS3 back do to a defect in the screen I used my g2 for 2 weeks and was still impressed with how snappy it was. So yea, I may end up attempting a 4.4 rom at some point. I'll share it here and perhaps some of the better developers can take it and improve on it

But not sure if there is a way to strip the video memory or even have dynamic vram.

I think it's fantastic, once in a while I'll come across a small little hiccup, but that's expected personally for a port. I would make it my daily driver but I use Gslim as my daily rom only for battery life because not around my charger much, otherwise I'd be running CM10

I'm currently working on getting cm11.0 4.4 to build. I Had it built already and a new version of cwm recovery 6.0.2.8. The rom starts but there is no splash for the time being. I can't post in the dev side of the xda here but where can I find the work gits for someone working on cm11.0 for this device I'm trying to get this thing to work again. Also is there a irc room for the group?
I figured the cwm version that built worked with the new set_metadata in the updater-scripts for the 4.3 and up
I would like to help with, (attempt to) coordinate, and start the development efforts for KitKat/CM11 on the G2.
I can beta test, build, and debug/reverse-engineer where needed.
I'm getting a build environment prepared, so it will be a bit until I crank out builds.

CM 7.2 port to Xperia SP

I want some starting tutorial to help me port cm7.2 to xperia sp...
Don't ask why, for me gingerbread is the best version of android...
I would love to see SP hardware running gingerbread
It would be pointless to port Gingerbread to the SP, it's almost five years old and most apps require ICS or Jelly Bean to actually work.

Look at this. Jelly Bean and KitKat have the most market share, why do you want to install an OS that's nearly five years old? How long do you think it will be until the apps you use stop supporting GB? I feel that developing GB for the SP would be a complete waste of time, you'd be better off just installing KK, which is fast, stable and will (probably) be around for a few years.
I think that CM9 should be better.
On my old SGS I9000 ICS works much better than GB c:
Good luck !
Gingerbread? Good Luck :good:
