Exclusivity.

It's not exclusivity. The nexus 7 has not even shipped yet.

[Q] Still no 4.4 OTA

The 4.4 OTA update was released a few days ago. I still have not received the update on my 2013 Nexus 7. :crying: Google has always been known for updating their devices very quickly. That was one of the reasons I bought this tablet. Quick updates to the latest version of android. But I'm still on 4.3. Why am i not getting this update?
Don't worry your not the only one Actually most people have not gotten it yet either. I don't know one person that has and it was released about a week ago. Personally I don't think Google even released it. I think they just said that to shut people up. I'm sure its coming soon though...
factory image was released, why would you wait for the OTA?

Because factory image deletes everything. And why should anyone that is not an expert flash something that he doesn't have to?

Oh... I see... The data that would be lost is the issue...
I forgot about that since this is xda...
Flashing has become a hobby... =)

Sideloading Android 4.4.1 KOT49E

I'm trying to sideload the 4.4.1 update to my Nexus 4 but I keep getting the status 7 error. I had the same problem with sideloading from KRT16O to KRT16S, but that was occured by the franco kernel. Flashing the stock kernel fixed that. Right after sideloading KRT16S I tried to flash 4.4.1 but I got the status 7 error again..
I've tried everything; rooted, unrooted, stock recovery, CMW, sideloading, flashing in CWM but all with the same error.. How can I get past this status 7?
Where's your download link?

Got it from Google's servers. I've read about flashing the boot.img and system.img seperately before flashing the update. Could that work? I'm afraid it won't and I can't find the originals..
Please don't post this in the development section. This belongs in the q and a. For future reference read before posting, I can't stress this enough

No bugs here, except pretty high battery usage. But that status 7 error is really bothering me because I could sideload KRT16S without problems after flashing stock kernel and haven't changed anything since...
Maybe I'll try it. You should list features, bugs, etc in the OP.

No. All that's needed is a wipe of the cache and dalvik. Then flash on top of it.

When "L" is officially released

Will you need to be on 4.4.4? Or can I go from 4.4.2 to L?

L hasn't been released yet and there's no ETA so no one outside of Google officially knows.

I know it hasn't been released yet just wondering if I have to do the other updates before getting the L version.

Again, we don't know yet. Unless you're talking about the L preview (which I'm assuming not because you said officially released). In which case that must be updated to using fastboot / flashable .zip and doesn't require you to be on the latest firmware.
Thanks for reply. I'm not interested in the beta and didn't like the ota update for 4.4.3 so I'm currently running 4.4.2.

Do we even know we are getting L? Has Google said we would in writing somewhere?

Don't worry about that, even if Google decided to stop updating the 2012 Nexus 7, Cyanogenmod will always continue.
I think that we dont receive this update..there isnt the binary blobs preview

Thanks for the link. Question, looks like my phone downloaded the update and it says ready to install. What happens if I say "install"?
